How Microsoft is NOT A MONOPOLY- An Argument why that Microsoft is wrongly cased in the decisive decision to break Microsoft Up

Why Microsoft should not be split and why they are not a monopoly!

First of all, Microsoft lawsuit case is not a logical case but a money case. Since the beginning of the creation of Microsoft, Bill Gates and his team have created the world’s best in business, Operating System and game software. They have been the leading edge in network software technology and the way of the future. They united the U.S Army network and as well as bringing the Internet into a state of user-friendly software. Through this I will prove that Microsoft is not a monopoly in three ways, they have beaten their competitors fairly and legally, they have given the users a choice of OS, and they have not taken over the market illegally.

Firstly, Microsoft has hired the best of the best in computer programmers, network administrators and the best in management. Their major competitors are Linux, Unix and Apple OS. These companies throughout their history have repeatedly made the wrong choices in both marketing and their infrastructure. Take for example Linux, sure they have been an alternative of Microsoft Windows for so long but are they user-friendly as Windows, and is it expendable in software as Windows, can you get other software that is not made by Corel or Linux to run on Red hat. The answer is no, Linux is only for the major hackers out there that know their codes. Unix is software that is only for businesses. It is a great OS that runs with Windows NT 4.0 and 2000, but it is not for home users this is also true for Novell. Apple OS sure its better than Windows but where is the software that you can install on there. Also Microsoft actually fed money into Apple to keep it in business in the late 1980’s and the early 1990’s and maybe still today. If you buy a software today almost 85% of them run on Windows why because it is a better user friendly OS and more versatile more productive and reliable. That is why Microsoft has beaten out their competitors fair and square.

Secondly, Microsoft does not force the users to use Windows. There are plenty of OS (Operating systems) out there that users can buy. Just go to www.freeos.com and you will see what I mean. But does the users want to actually explore into the deep and find trouble. About all of the other OS are junk and not very easily able to be used. You can’t get a lot of software to run on them and they are not as productive as Windows. Take for instance Linux, you can buy it from any computer store for very cheap, but do you want to take a chance on an OS that is not proven to be reliable. Most users won’t even try it. And this thing about Windows crashing; that is a bunch of trash. About 85% of the time it’s actually the hardware that people stick in that is not compatible or not recommended by Microsoft to use in Windows. This is why that Microsoft has given a choice for companies and home users on which OS they prefer.

Lastly, Microsoft has not taken over the software market illegally. In fact they actually helped out the market rather than hurt it. In the early 1990’s before and after the Gulf War, the U.S Navy was having trouble communicating their network between 3 divisions, the Navy, the Marines and the Army. So without a specially designed network software to link these computer divisions they couldn’t communicate between them. Novell had a product but it wasn’t reliable and that’s when the Army signed a deal with Microsoft to design an OS to be able to communicate between a WAN. That’s when NT was born. Also Gates was a lot smarter than Steve Jobs (invented Apple) in marketing. Steve Jobs wanted the money upfront with investors without actually knowing if Apple’s OS is a success. On the other hand Gates actually let them see what was special about his OS before the investors invest and that’s also why Gates was a lot more successful. So Microsoft did not take over the market illegally it was just the Gates was smarter and able to give out what the market was demanding.

In conclusion, I have proved that Microsoft is not a monopoly in both giving the users the ability and freedom to choose their own OS, they have out beat their competitors legally and Microsoft did not illegally ride over the software market. The future of Microsoft to my opinion and to a lot of others should stay the same and not be spitted so they can offer the same good software like what they have today. If they split up it would not only cost Microsoft but the consumers too. This is a fact not an opinion. Microsoft started it all and they should continue forever or until Artificial intelligence and Nano Technology step in.
