Most notably, PC-cillin's signature updates are now free; with earlier versions you were forced to pay for a subscription service or go to the company's BBS.

3. To ensure that you have the latest virus attacking tools, Norton AntiVirus alerts you via e-mail when new signature files are available. When you receive these alers, jut click on the attachment to update your copy of Norton AntiVirus. PC-cillin provides freee access to its Internet Virus Lab, where you review current virus information and learn about updates. TouchStone also offers PC-cillin users a handy 24-hour Emergency Virus Removal service.

Choosing between Norton Antivirus and PC-cillin is a close call. Both cover the virus bases with free Internet updates, powerful scanning and ease of use. If you absolutely must have the most up-to-date virus signatures, go with Norton AntiVirus. But is you're looking for something alittle easier to use and the comfort of a 24-hour virus repair service, PC-cillin is for you.
