1. Leave the windows open- it provides a nice breeze for your pet. But don't allow excess esposure to the sunlight.

2. Keep your pets cage out of direct sunlight.

3. Fans will not cool your ferret- they just move air. To cool your ferret with a fan, all you have to do is spritz him/her with water, then blow air. This will allow the water to evaporate quickly, cooling your ferret as well.

4. Fill a plastic bottle with water and freeze it. Then put a sock around it. When you place the frozen mixture into your ferret's cage, it will act as an air conditioner for your pet!

5. Give your ferret acess to plenty of cold, fresh, drinking water at all times.

6. Assume that your ferret is even more sensitive to heat then you are. If you feel the slightest bit uncomfortable, think of how your pet must feel and do something to change it immidiately!

And Remember- HEATSTROKE IS FATAL WITHIN MINUTES AND IT IS CAUSED BY HEAT STRESS!!! ALWAYS KEEP TEMPERATURES BETWEEN 60 AND 75 DEGREES. IT IS THE ONLY HUMANE THING TO DO!
