In case you don't already know, "The Adventures of the Mystic Isles" is an epic saga revolving around a myriad of extraordinary characters, pristine settings, and breath-taking conflicts. The Mystic Isles had been courageously denfended and wisely governed for millions of generations under the Wizard Dynasty of Duloc. The Isles were a utopia for all creatures and was far isolated from the rest of the world to have to worry about invasion. The wizards had established a kingdom of stability and prosperity. Inhabitants rarely feared the prospect of war (except in Corbia where a harsh feudalist society was enforced). In the year 2364 B.Y.C.R (Before You Can Remember) Olivander the Mysterious and his clever wife, the Dutchess of Arealius, had realized that they could not beget an heir to the kingdom of Mystic. The Dutchess then suggested that Olivander divide the kingdom and leave each of his most trusted nobles with an isle. Soon after the king's announcement to the Council of Mystic, Olivander the Mysterious was brutally murdered in his sleep but the murderer left no evidence and no one was suspected. The Dutchess moved on with her life and married the Duke of Corbia, a short man in stature but a military genius in his mind. Together the Duke of Corbia, the Duke of Leo, the Duke of Blackheart, and the Thane of Thak set forth a doctrine that would prohibit the establishment of a standing army. The Duke of Corbia had only signed it as long as each Isle was free to establish their own laws within their territory. Years past and the Dukes and Dutchesses have grown old. Fortunately, all have had children also so no state is left without an heir. Now you have breifly been introduced to the history of the Mystic Isles, you are ready to set off on an adventure of a lifetime. |
