It was a normal big city night. She was walking towards the London Underground. Natilie was anight nurse in the eastend. A slow but persistant drizzle had been agreivating anyone who ventuered out on this bitterly cold January day. She could see her breath. As Natilie entered the station a loadspeaker voice announced, "The train leaving from platform 13, has been delayed at plymouth. Passengers wishing to bourd this train are advisied to find a different mode of transport."
The nurse sighed, letting her auben hair fall into her eyes. It was going to be a long walk back to her flat across town.
As she shuffeled threw the crowd fear grabbed her chest and her nostrills flared for air. It had been like this last time.
Suddenly her head was spinning and her knees gave way. Natillie grabbed the nearest thing. When she looked up it was a tall man witha strong build. He had broud shoulders. His face was full of perservirence.
"Guten Abend, Miss",he spoke slowly and witha strong german accent.
Unable 2 resist Natillie allowed herself to be helped up, taken out into the street and engaged in conversation.
"So, Miss Natillie, tell me about what you are like? Are u a sweet und innocent haus wife?"
"Well", she hesitated,"not exactly"
"I must warn u Miss Natillie", the sturdy man said looking distant, somehow desolate, "once you know me for myself youy will not like i."
"Oh i doubht that", she flirtily said, mentally blocking out a sense of dread.
They walked in silence for about 12 ft and then he spoke.
"You r cold und wet, miss Natillie, please come to my apartment und i will drive u home in my moter car."
"Okay"
As they travelled into a slightly less grotty neighbour hood the rain incresed and the nurse lifted her Jacket hood over her head. This made her nervous. She could not see to ethier side. The slippy pavement scared her. She could not run.
They arrived at his house and she slid into the huge garage after him.
"WAIT!"he snapped , "while i find a light switch."
Natillie didn't like the dark. behind her eyes she saw scenes of horror, murder and bloodshed.
The light came on, very faint and flickering.
"A very good scarf, yes?"
"please don't touch it!" she said.
"But i want to take a closer look."
"You mustnt take it off!" Natilie pleaded.
She sighed again. Too late.

They found him in the morning.
A neighbour indentified the body.
A heart atack the police inspector Grahem decided. But some thing must have given him a hell of a fright.
Such an unushual scarf around his neck too, Grahem thought.
As the body was carried off he noticed that the mans head moved a round to much.
But noone thought much of it. |
