Any encounter with the opposite sex at a personal level, sends a touch of nervous excitement through all of us. It's all very well meeting somebody at the sport's club and getting to know them gradually, but a date in the coffee shop of some distant hotel is altogether more stressful.

Enter stage left the Internet version of the traditional bricks and mortar agency. Here you really have the opportunity to learn a great deal more about the person you might be meeting. Basic personal information, interests, hobbies and on the best sites you may even find they have written a short essay about themselves.

Most important of all, you can use an alias and "chat" to whoever you like, in the safe knowledge that if you don't want to take things any further they will never know who you are. No risk of them pestering you on the phone or following you home. You can "chat" in this way for days, weeks or months, gradually letting the relationship unfold, though for most people, this gradual unfolding doesn't take very long. The slow building up of a relationship with somebody you meet in your daily life might take months, but on the Internet you can chat to somebody every day, and if you're both keen to continue you could find you're meeting up in that hotel coffee shop within a week. It's all up to you. You go at your own speed. That's the beauty of it.

Of course, the people you meet through an Internet introduction are just the same as the people you might meet at the sport's club or on the bus. You still need to take sensible basic precautions when that first meeting is arranged. However, that could be the subject of a whole new article.
ARE YOU SCEPTICAL. WHY NOT JUST TAKE A QUICK LOOK? YOU WON'T HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE A LOOK AROUND NOW WILL YOU AND IF YOU LIKE WHAT YOU SEE WHY NOT SPLASH OUT AND FIND YOUR ONE TRUE LOVE?
