| Formed in San Diego in 1992, P.O.D. (short for Payable On Death) fuses hardcore punk, alternative metal, hip-hop, and Latin flourishes with lyrics that subtly reflect its members' Christian faith. Led by vocalist Sonny Sandoval, the group issued three albums on Rescue Records -- Brown, Snuff the Punk, and Live -- before signing with Atlantic in 1998. An EP titled Warriors was released in 1999 prior to the group's major-label debut. ~ Steve Huey, All-Music Guide |
