Ocean at Night (The Whale Painting) |
|
Yay! My most recent painting, completed on July 22nd, 2004. This painting was very simple for me to paint, but contains more symbolism and emotion than all of my other paintings combined. This started out as me showing a scene from a dream I had years ago, then I combined it with feelings of today, and this is the result. Notice the colors, the placement of the rings, the Van Gogh chair, and the objects in the left corner. I will not tell what this painting means to me; it is up to you to interpret. |
I was fiddling around with a fan brush and some blue paint one day in Humanities class, and this happened! I took it to canvas, and even though it is a bad picture of this painting, I did my Humanities thing over again. Since I was just copying from paper to canvas, it only took about twenty minutes. A couple days later, I asked my mother if she had seen this painting yet. She thought a moment, and said: "Oh, the whale painting?" Clueless, I went and looked at it again, and sure enough, in my twenty-minute duplication (to the left side in the middle), there is what appears to be a whale tail there. So, not only is this the ocean at night, it is also my whale painting! |
