Weekend Report
June 18, 2005

Happy Father’s Day Everyone:

Guess I was wrong last Sunday about speculating that we would see some downside, although not heavy, last week. All the Major Indices were green.

It was nice to see the Naz Short-Term Up/Dn Volume Moving Average bounce on Thursday rather than go negative. I’m seeing a lot of mixed signals on the Naz and NYSE. One interesting thing to note is that the Advance/Decline Issues were red on the Naz on Friday after being positive the first 4 days of the week. The NYSE was green on the A/D all week.

The Naz needs to bust through 2110-2120 on volume…I don’t see that happening this week. The NYSE looks somewhat overbought. The bad news for Boeing could affect the DJIA negatively on Monday (see “This ‘N That” below). I’d prefer to see the Naz stay in a range of 2080-2110 for the week on low volume. But both the Naz and NYSE charts look pretty good. We have to discount Friday’s volume though since it was Quadruple Witching. I will remain neutral for now…Although if I was forced to choose I’d lean towards slightly short term bullish.

For the week, the Dow Super Sectors were 10 up 0 down led by Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Healthcare.

Top DJ Groups were Platinum/Precious Metals +13.96% Home Construction +8.89% Non-Ferrous Metals +8.20%. The worst were Airlines -3.41% Tobacco -2.87% Brewers -2.05%.

A/D/U Issues for the week:

Nasdaq 2123/1177/71
NYSE 2600/898/81
AMEX 724/345/59

The NH/NL figures for all three of the above were positive AGAIN which I like to see.

The DJIA A/D/U was 21/9/0 , DJ Composite was 45/20/0 and the Major DJ Groups were 87/13/0

NEW…I have added two new pages at Mr. Breakout…A Daily Watch List Which Will Be Updated Five Times A Week And Some Great “FREE” Trial Offers To Stock Related Sites…You Will Find Them At The Top Of The Table Of Contents Over To The Left.

Free Stock Market Forums

I am a member of 7 stock forums and 2 chat rooms…Actually I was a member of several more last year…But time is time so I have limited myself to those that are the best. I thought I’d mention three that you might find beneficial:

ReedFloren.com
Founded a year and a half ago by Minnesota High School Whiz Kid, Reed Floren, …The Forum has over 1,600 members…Plus a live chat room open 24/7. The forum caters to all types of traders/investors from daytraders to long-term investors.

MrMarketIsHuge.com
It’s hard to argue with success!!! Mr. Market now boasts over sixty-five 15%+ winners in a row. He even offers up a link to his homepage where he describes exactly how he does it. But that’s not all…There are other Forum Topics designed to be of interest to all types of investors. One of my Fave topics and the most popular one in terms of page views is “Spike's Scientific Stock Analysis” led by the Master technician himself; Spikefader. With close to 1,400 members the Forum also holds a weekly stock picking contest where you can pick up some interesting new ideas.

MasteringTheMarkets.com
A newer Forum with close to 300 members…This one has it all…Technicals, Updated News, Daytrading Ideas, Earnings, Futures, Forex, Penny Stocks, Mutual Funds and just about anything else you might be looking for.
