Hi Everybody:
The Naz 50 day moving average did not hold
Short-Term A/D lines looked good on Monday but then reversed. The Naz technical indicators I watch all indicate either oversold or down. We sit at a minor support level here but there is stronger support in the mid 2090s and major support in the mid-high 2070s.
The Bullish Percent Indices both look pretty bleak for the Naz and the NYSE.
Im Short-Term bearish at this point.
For the week, the Dow Super Sectors were 1 up 9 down. Utilities was the only green sector.
Top DJ Groups were Distillers/Vintners +3.59% Electricity +1.29% Industrial Suppliers +1.24%
Worst Groups were Commodity Chemicals -4.69% Electronic Office Equip. -3.58% Gold Mining -3.26%
A/D/U Issues for the week:
Nasdaq 1444/1825/97
NYSE 1621/1883/90
AMEX 443/649/58
The DJIA A/D/U was 5/25/0. The DJ Composite was 23/42/0 and the Major DJ Groups were 15/85/0.
The DJ Utilities Index was 14/1/0, however on Friday it was 1/14/0. The only utility in the red for the week was WMB.
A/D volume for the week was ¾ on the Naz and 3/5½ on the NYSE.
Friday was pretty bad as the Naz 100 was 23/76/1, SP 500 was 82/410/8 and the SP SC600 was 80/514/6.
Nasdaq Short Interest for August bounced up after falling in July. You can view the stats on the Nasdaq Short Interest page listed in the TOC over to the left.
