ETF Charts

Below are ONE MINUTE charts of QID for the past 10 trading days (1-07-08 through 1-18-08). Each chart shows a green line at a potential buy point and a red line at a sell point. Buy points are based on an MACD 12,26,9 crossover UNDER the Zero Line and the +DI above the -DI on the ADX (14).

A sell point is based on either the shorter term MACD's (10,20,5) or (6,13,4) crossing down or the the -DI crossing over above the +DI on the ADX (14).

This is very simplified for this exercise...In reality and even more importantly for a high percentage of winning trades I also watch the following in RealTime: QQQQ QQEW $NDX QLD QID MSFT GOOG CSCO INTC AAPL ORCL QCOM RIMM DELL CMCSA AMGN $VXN $VIX DXD along with the Days Hi/Low Streamer.

Although it greatly reduces the number of trades, I've found that when the above technicals apply and the Hi/Lows Streamer is moving rapidly in the right direction, the percentage of winning trades is extemely high. I have not done a scientific analysis or anything but it works for me.

A couple of factors do play into it though...The speed at which you react and the speed of your execution along with the emotional factor works against you. When I'm trading this I normally use limit orders and I'm all set to go...But if your limit needs to be changed to get executed this can cost you dearly. And of course there is always the chance of your computer freezing etc. Once in a while a glitch actually works in your favor...But that is a rare occurrence.

I also use the same premise on QLD and it works just as well.

Just some food for thought.

To view each chart just click the little chart...Depending on your monitor size you may have to click the enlarged chart again to see it clearly...In fact you may have to click the enlarged chart twice.
