We walked to are next city. There I hoped to get another badge.
"Hey you." Somebody said on are way, "Wanna battle?"
"Sure, 3 on 3." I said.
"Go Squirtle" I said. Seeing as it was manditory to say which Pokemon your choose in the Pokemon Legue I figuered I might as well do just that.
"Poliwag, I choose you!" He said.
Squirtle did an agilty attack followed by a tackle attack and Poliwag was out of the match.
"Go Pikachu!" He said
Pikachu did a thundershock but it was too weak of a Pikachu to hurt my Squirtle and my Squirtle did a Mega Punch and Pikachu fainted.
"I don't have a third Pokemon I'm afriad." He said sadly, "I lost again."
"You weren't too bad." I said.
"Yah," Clara said, "You were really bad! Come-on let's go!"
"Sure I suppose." I said reluantly. That kid sertaintly wasn't good but he had pertanal. If I helped him a bit he'd probly feel better about himself. But I had to get moving.

We were lost. I had never been lost before. Of course that could be because I lived on an island that was full with a mere 300 hundered people.
"Derk ... were are we." I asked him.
"I have no clue. Clara?" Derk asked.
"Who the hell sould I know. Do I look like I've ever been to the docks before?" Clara said.
"So were lost. That's okay. I heard even the best of people get lost around here. I bet ... a Gloom!" I said.
A Gloom was only acouple feet away! While I was lost I might as well caughts something.
I was reach in to get Pidgeotto when somebody else already started battling.
"Pikachu go!" The kid that I met early said.
I did nothing. He could bet that Gloom so then I'd just take over and win.
His Pikachu did thundershock but like I thought Gloom was too strong and Glooms razor leaf beat the Pikachu.
"Pikachu return!" He said. Then the Gloom ran away. Dam! That kid ruined my chances of getting a Gloom.
"Before I felt sorry for you. But know your incompitance ruined my chances of getting a Gloom." I said.
"Hey! Take it easy!" He said now getting on the defensive, "I just wanted to get that Gloom."
"I'm going to stop this kid form bothering us any more. Beedrill go!" Derk said.
Beedrill did his Parlz Attack and the kid was now unable to move.
"You won't be able to move for another 2 hours. By then will be long gone." Derk said.
We left him there trying to find are way.

"Hey look! A Pokecenter. We can ask for directions there." Clara said as we hurried to the Pokecenter.
Someone stopped us on the way though. Gary!
"Hey leave us alone!" I said.
"No way Sean. It's payback time for what you did in Cerulan city. Gravaller go!" Gary said, "After I beat you in battle 'll steal all your Pokemon."
"Well see about that, Sandrew out!"
Gravaller did a rock slide but Sandrew dodged it by goin underground. Sandrew then did a dig attack and Gravaller was sent in the air. When it fell down, though, it seemed like it was barely hert at all.
"Sean. Want me to help?" Asked Derk.
"No. I want to beat him on my own." I said.
"Okay just remeber that by now that dum trainer is free and problaly is looking for us now."
"Don't worry about it." said.
Whall we were talking Graverler had keeped doing his tackle attack on Sandrew and Sandrew could barely fight now.
Truely skilled trainers could still win this fight but I wasn't a truely skilled trainer.
"Oh to hell with this. Poliwrath out!" Clara said.
Poliwrath did a watergun attack and beat Graverler.
"It's not over yet," Gary said, "Viaplume go! Stune spore all of them."
Viaplume did as he was told and we all now couldn't move. Gary toke are pokebalss and put Poliwrath and Sandrew back in there's pokeballs.
"Bye." Gary said as he started to leave but was electricuted by a Pikachu on the way.
"Good now Poliwag get the pokeballs back. Pikachu keep thundershocking!" The trainer that we met before. Why would he help us?
In about five minutes he got the pokeballs back to us and we were unparlzed.
"Thanks ... what was your name again?" I said.
"I never tol you it. It's Micheal." Micheal said, "Um ... I was kind of hoing that you could help me with something seeing as I helped you."
"Depnds. What?" Clara asked.
"Well you see I have this rival that I met up with two days ago that's much better then me. I need to face him in a match in 5 hour. Can I borrow some pokemon? It's suppose to be a 5 on 5." Micheal said.
"Sure will help." I said.

We were at the battle of Micheal against his rival, Tommas. He had borrowed Pidgeotto, Ditto and Magmar for the battle.
"Okay. Let's get started. Go Charmelloen!" Tommas said.
"Then I choose ... um ..." Micheal siad.
"Choose Ditto. Then have it transform into a Blastoise." I said.
"Thanks Sean." Micheal siad, "Ditto out. Transform into Blastoise!"
Ditto did hydro pump against Charmelloen but he dodged it with a agaitly attack. Then Charmelloen went on the offensive by using Shalsh. Charmelloen then used fury swipes. Ditto tried to use mega punch but Charmelloen jumped back and as it did it used flamethrower. Ditto fainted.
"Ditto return. Go ... Magmar!" Tommas said.
Magmar did flamethrower and that was enough for the already tried Charmelloen to faint. It was now 4-4.
"Charmelloen return!" Micheal said, "That was luck. This time you won't have luck on your side. Go Poliwril!"
Poliwril did his watergun and Magmar dogded it. Magmar changed and was about to do a
skull bash but Poliwril jumped aside and ued hidero pump and Magmar was knocked out.
"Okay now it's time to use Pidgeotto." I suggested.
"Go Pikachu. Agility attack!" Tommas said.
Poliwril did a fury swipes but keeped missing Pikachu. Pikachu did a thunderblot and Poliwril was weakened. Pikachu then did a skull bash followed by fury swipes and Poliwril wasn't looking to good. Pikachu finished it off with a thunderbolt and Pikachu won the fight.
"It's not over yet, go Sandslash!" Micheal said.
Pikachu used slash against Sandslash's slash. They soon were at eachothers throuts. Pikachu used rage and started furiously attack Sandslash. Sandslash fainted.
"I'm up by one!" Tommas said.
"So I stiil have two Pokemon. Go Wartoutle!"
Wartoutle attack with a scratch attack. Pikachu did a thunderbolt attack and beat Wartourtle. Tommas was now up 3-1.
"I've saved my best for last. Go Golduck!" Micheal said.
Golduck used confusion and Pikachu was beat.
"It's inpossible to beat psycic Pokemon." Micheal said.
"well just have to see about that. Go Pidgeotto!" Tommas said.
"Pidgeotto did quick attack and Golduck was hit down. Before he could do a Psyic move he did wing attack and Golduck was defeated.
"I won! I won!" Tommas said jumping up and down.
"Whatever, I'm out of here." Micheal said and left.

"Well thanks for helping me. That route will take you strait to Lt. Surge's gym." Tommas said.
We were about to leave and we were saying are goodbye's to Tommas.
"Come-on! Let's go!" Clara said.
"Okay." I said to Clara then turn to Tommas, "Well bye."
We headed to my thrid badge.

"How much longer till we get to Lt. Surge's gym?" I asked.
"About 2 mabey 3 hours." Derk said.
"How about know?" I asked.
Derk began to get mad, "Just because your bored, Sean, doesn't mean you have to dive me crazy!"
"Why not?" In asked.
"Just shut-up!" Derk said.
"Look a Pidgeotto!" Clara said trying to keep the peace.
"I'll catch it!" I said.
"No way! Yoou already have a Pidgeotto. I'll catch it." Derk said.
"But I'm the one who's bored!" I protested.
While we were agueing Clara got ready to fight the Pidgeotto.
"Charmander go!" Clara said.
Charmander did a fire blast attack and Pidgeotto fell down form it's flying.
Gary jumped in front of Clara.
"Pokeball go!" Gary yelled as he threwa pokeball at Pidgeotto.
"Hey that's my Pokemon!" Clara said as she took out her pokeball that held Magmar.
"To bad! I got one of your Pokemon and now I'll get them all. Kingler go!" Gary said.
Kingler did shalsh and Charmander was knocked out.
"Oh ya," Clara began, "My Charmander was still out. Charmander return! Go Magmar."
Kingler used water gun bu Magmar dodged it. Magmar did fire punch and Kingler lost his footing. As Kingler got up he did bubble beam and Magmar was knocked down. Magmar was finished off with a solar beam.
Two people jumped out of a tree. One male and the other one female.
"Sir were here." The male one said.
"Good. I want you two to take care of these bafuns. Take there Pokemon then give them to me." Gary said then to us, "I'm sorry I can't do it myself but I'm a busy man. I'll make sure I see you again though."
"You couldn't do it yourself even if you weren't a busy man you coward!" Clara yelled.
Gary ingored her and said, "These two are Mark and Erika. Bye."
Gary left and I turned to face and left. Clara started after him but Mark and Erika stopped her.
"I want my Pidgeotto back!"
I almost laughed. We were oviously not as strong as them and there Pokemon could be better then ares and that's all she thought about?!
Mark seemed bored. "Let's make this snappy I want to be given a real mission. Geodude go!"
"Oddish go!" Erika said.
I was reliefed. I thought they would have good Pokemon.
"Geodude, Sandrew out!" I said. Clara sent out Charmander for back up.
The Geodudes clashed while Sandrew dug a hole and Oddish started looking for him. It would not be a long wait for soon Sandrew exploted out of the ground and fainted Oddish.
"Oddish return. Go, Arbok!" Erika said.
Soon my Geodude won and it was Sandrew and Geodude vs. Arbok seeing as Charmander was
still just back-up. Arbok did a body slam knocking both Geodude and Sandrew out cold. Then without waiting a secound it used bite on Charmander which was know also fainted.
"This Arbok can't be beat. It used to be with Team Rocket before it collasped but now he a member of OUR team." Erika informed us.
I could see what she said to be true from the attack. I re-called my Pokemon and ran. I would have to face that Arbok when I was stronger.
Clara and Derk fallowed. But there Arbok was quicker then we were.
"We can't run forever." I pointed out.
"Were heading in the direction of Lt. Surge's gym. It's in a city. The police in the city will help us." Clara said.
Derk stopped running for a split secound to take out a Pokeball. "They prabaly know that too and will retreat when we get to the city." He said then stopped and turned around, "Starmie go! Slow down that Arbok anyway you can!"
Derk was know running with us again. Arbok was ignoring Starmie's attacks but was stil slowed down. But also still gaining ...
"Will never make it at this rate. Why isn't Arbok fighting Starmie?" I asked.
"Mark and Erika airn't ... following us so Arbok ... is just ... following his last order." Clara said starting to tire from the running. We al were.
I had one last idea. "Derk is it possible ... to ... faint ..." I couldn't finish. I was in worse shape then I thought.
"Faint it?" Derk said beginning the least tired of us all, "The only way we could faint it with the Pokemon we have is todo an all out offensive but not all are Pokemon are fast enough to keep up with it so that wouldn't work."
"Derk ... remeber when we ... were caghst by ... Beedrills?"
"Yah. What about it?"
"We ... lost ... them."
"No. We can't loose this thing. Beedrills are dum. A Pokemon this old is both powerful and smart."
"There's ... got ..."
I couldn't run anymore. I had too little air in my lungs. I fainted.

Sean fell down in mid word. I was a little bit behind him so on my way I grabbed him. I didn't understand why Sean and Clara were so tired over this short run.
Oh well, I thought to myself, mabey Clara's inpressed by somebody that can run long distances.
I have sort of a crush on Clara but if i tell her that things might happen and either Clara or me would feel they had to leave the group. I didn't want to do that so I kept my crush to myself.
"What was Sean ... talking about?" Clara asked.
"Loosing or beating this Arbok." I said.
The Arbok was slowly gaining on us. It was now about 10 feet away. There was no way we were going to make it to the city and even if we did without Erika and Mark here to tell Arbok to retreat the city wasn't even a safe place. We had to defeat this Arbok. But how ...
Of course! I thought as I reached for Ditto's ball.
"Ditto out! Transform into Butterfree and do sleep powder." I ordered.
Ditto did what I said and soon Arbok was asleep. And Sean was awake.
"What?" He said no longer tryed.
"You fainted. Now help me defeat Arbok."
"But it's - never mind. Pidgeotto go!"
Pidgeotto, Sean's favoute Pokemon, came out. Pidgeotto did whrilwind and blow Arbok away.
I turned to face the rood to the city and saw that we were in a hour or two's reach of the city.
"Well guess let's get that badge you want Sean."

This ends the Journeying. For books 17-20 see "Thunder"
