Story 7

Finally Ready!

"Can we go know?" Jake whined when they got to Pewter City, finally.

"I not ready yet." Cally said as she was scanning the towm for pokemon.

"So? Just because you're going to take forever to catch enough pokemon doesn't mean
that I have

to sufare!"

"Hey, look! A Spearow!" Cally shouted running after it, then she called over her shoulder,
"You

go! I'll meet up with you at the hotel at 3:00!"

Jake and Growlithe walked about a mile before they came to Brock's Gym where the
same guard from

last time was standing.

"Come back for more I see." The guard said as he saw Jake walking to the door.

"Yup. And this time I'm going to win!" Jake said comfidently.

"If you insist. It's not my job to talk people out of killing themselves." The guard laughed
and

led them to the arena. "Pick four pokemon and get in your position."

"Okay, so I'll use Growlithe, Pidgeotto, Dragonite, and ummmmmmmmmm... I guess I
have no chose

but to use Pikachu." Jake thought to himself when the guard left.

"Growlithe litheigro. (I wouldn't use Pikachu if I was you.)"

"Well who else am I supposed to use?!"

"Growlithe. (If you had waited you could have gotten more pokemon, but no one ever
listens to me.)"

"Well that would be because you never said anything."

"Are you ready?" The guard asked.

"Growlith. (We're dead.)"

"You just watch."

"Can I take that as a yes?" The guard asked looking confused.

"Uh, ya. Perfect."

"Okay. ON THE LEFT SIDE BLAH BLAH BLAH. JUST START THE BATTLE!"

"GEODUDE GO!" Brock sent out Geodude.

"Geodude dude? (Why do I have to listen to the guy with no eyes?)"

"Fate." Jake said with a laugh.

"What?" Brock asked totally clueless. "Send out your pokemon."

"Oh, right. PIDGEOTTO GO!"

Geodude used rock throw but Pidgeotto used gust the rocks flew back at Geodude.
Geodude uses

tackle but Pidgeotto dodges and hits him with a quick attack that makes Geodude faint.
Brock

sent out Sandshrew. Pidgeotto just gust and hurt Sandshrew bad. Sandshrew used dig but
it didn't

hurt Pidgeotto. Pidgeotto used Gust again and Sandrew fainted.

"I'm going to wi-in! I'm going to wi-in!" Jake sang as Sandrew fainted. "Uh?" Pidgeotto
crashed

into him as Onix beat it.

"Ow! Dragonite go!" Jake said as he got to his feet.

"Drag itedr. (I'll beat that Onix for you Jake.)"

Dragonite used hyper beamand Onix fainted. Brock called back Onix and Dragonite sat
down to rest.

Graveller used a very good tackle on Dragonite while he was resting and She fainted. Jake
sent

out Pikachu and it quickly fainted.Jake sent out Growlithe. Graveller used another tackle
attack

but Growlithe was too fast for it. Growlithe came back with a fire spin attack and burnt
Graveller

to a crisp.

"I WON!!!!!" Jake shouted as he rushed over to Growlithe. "You were great!"

"Grow. (I try.)" Growlithe said shyly.

"You have some good moves kid. You really deserve this." Brock said handing Jake the
Boulder

Badge.

Jake ran out of the gym to go find Cally. She was in a field using her pokemon to catch a
Rattita.

She threw a pokeball at it and it got out and ran away.

Jake smiled, "Not much luck today huh?"

"That's what you think." Cally said holding up 5 pokeballs.

"Not too shabby. These are all my pokemon! Pidgey, Rattita, Spearow, Caterpie, and-"

"Blah blah blah. I don't want to hear your life story."

"I forgive you. You must be in a crappy mood because you didn't get your badge, right?"

"Well acually-"

"No no. I'll take you out for ice cream. Okay? That will make you feel all better." Cally
said

in a baby voice.

"Well acually you don't have to cause-" Jake stopped him self and thought for a sec. Then
started

to sniffle, "Ya, I think I need an ice cream to make me feel better (sniff). I've had a bad
(sniff)

day. Ice cream sounds (sniff) good."

"Okay." Cally said putting her arm around his shoulder. "It's on me."

"Really? You'll do (sniff) that for little old me (sniff). Wow (sniff)." Jake said trying to hold

back his laughter.

"Acually, now that I think about it losers should pay, right?"

"WHAT?"

"Now I know that You are upset but you have to learn."

"Well, I didn't lose. See." Jake said holding up his badge.

"Jake. I'm surprised at you."

"Why because I lied. Oh well, at least I don't have to pay."

"No, I'm surprised because you made a fake badge."

"It's not a fake! I got proof!"

"What?" Cally asked.

"Ummmm.... Growlithe. I earned this right?"

"Growlithe lithe. (I don't remember.)"Growlithe said turning away.

"Yes you do!"

"Grow. Growlithe. Lithe. (No I don't. I'm the poor little pokemon that no body listens to
and

that somebody uses as the last pokemon. Even after Pikachu.)" Growlithe said.

"Your mad at me about THAT?"

"Well? What did he say?" Cally asked.

"One sec."Jake said then turned back to Growlithe, "Come on Growlithe."

"Hmph."

"Well what do you want me to say?"

Growlithe turned around, "Growlithe grow. (Just trust that I can beat one pokemon.)"

"I do."

"If you two are done talking in your own little language can we go get some ice cream?"
Cally

said and started walking away.

"We'll catch up."Jake called after Cally.

"Grow. (No we won't.)" Growlithe said and ran to catch up with Cally.

"Hi Growlithe." Cally said and picked him up and started petting him.

"Growl. (Now that's a REAL pokemon trainer.)"
