Story 5
The Translater Part 1

"Come on Cally, my feet are killing me! Where are we going anyways?" Jake whined as they were
walking down a path that Cally "claimed" she had been before.

"Well, we are almost there. Just hold on a little bit longer."

"Almost where?" Jake asked begining to dought that Cally had even heard of this place, not to mention
going there.

"We are almost......ummmmmmmm..."Cally looked around the deserted road.

"Oh great! I knew it! We are lost, aren't we."Jake said and sat down on a rock.

"No. I know exactly where we are, honest."Cally insisted.

"Ya, right."

"Come on, just keep walking. If we keep following this path we have to end up somewhere."

"Fine, but if we don't get anywhere in 30 minutes, I'm deciding where we go, okay?" Jake said standing
up.

"Fine, just come on." Cally said pulling Jake forward.

*30 minutes later-still in the middle of nowhere.

"Okay, I'm deciding where we go."Jake said stubbernly.

"Jake, if we keep following this path we have to end up somewhere. you can't just go wondering in
the woods."

"Guess you're right. I should just leave this stuff to you. I'm no good at it anyways."Jake
said and sat down.

Cally sat next to him and gave him a kiss,"Better?"Jake stood up and started walking down the path
smiling,"Men are so easy to please."

*10:47 pm-still lost.

Jake was walking down the path with Cally's head on his shoulder when he saw something in the woods.
It stood perfectly still and watched them.

"Psst. Cally,"Jake whispered.

"Yah?" Cally said sleepily.

"What do you think that is?" Jake asked pointing to the figure in the woods.

"It doesn't matter, just keep walking."She said looking at her watch, 11:01 pm. "Actually, lets
set up the tent.

The whole time Jake and CAlly were setting up the tent Jake kept hearing noises in the woods.
When they were lying down in the tent Jake woke up to Growlithe's barking and scratching at the tent
wall.

"What is it boy?" Jake asked and then he saw a human's shadow on the tent. He turned to Cally and
tried to wake her up but she was fast asleep.

Jake got his flash light and went out of the tent with Growlithe following. "Hello?" Jake asked
and shone his flash light on a tall man standing in the middle of the path. "Who are you?"

"I am only a mere legend. I am who these people call "The Translater" and I have been watching you
for a very long time now. I think you need my help."The man said and looked in his bag and brang
out four needles,"Th blue needle will make you sleep and the red one is to do my work with. I will
give you the red one first and then put you to sleep."

"Why are there four?"Jake said backing away.

"The other pair is for your little friend."The Translater said pointing at Growlithe."Now don't move
this will only take a seconnd."The Translater said and before Jake could move the man stuck Jake
and Growlithe with the red needle.

"Growlith gro! (Ow! That hurt!)"Growlithe exclaimed.

Jake looked down at Growlithe, "What?"

"JAKE! ARE YOU OKAY?" Cally ran over to Jake and Growlithe.

"Ya, I was just talking to this guy and-"

"Who?"

Jake looked back, The Translater was gone,"It's a long story."

"Well tell it to me in the morning, I'm too tired to listen."

"Okay"

*9:12 am-not lost anymore, well not exactly. They where in a town called Latertrans, nether of
them had ever heard of it.

"Ooooooooooooooookay. Jake I think you're nuts."Cally said after Jake had told her the whole story.

"It's true! I can understand what Growlithe is saying now."

"Right."Cally said not believing a word of it.

"Growlith lithe! (Come on cally! It's true!)"

"See! I have an eye whitness!"

"Who? Growlithe?" Cally asked.

"Ya, do you see anybody else here?"

"I'm begining to worry about you Jake."

"Come on. The Translater said that the people in this town knew all about him!"Jake yelled and
everyone in the village stopped what they were doing and ran over to Jake.

"You mean you acually SAW the Translater?!" A teenaged girl yelled with excitement.

"What did he look like?" A young boy asked.

"What did he say?"A reporter asked.

"Was he a she?" Asked a little girl.

"Yup! I saw him!"Jake gloated.

"Me too."Said a boy that was Jake's age. Everyone stopped talking and looked at the boy.

"Don't talk such nonsence!"Said the boy's mother dragging him away to their house with a little
Pidgeotto following.

"Pidgeoooo!" said the pidgeotto.

"Ya, I know."Answered the boy.

"Don't talk to that bird!"Said the mother.

"WAIT!" Yelled Jake running after the boy with Growlithe and Cally beside him.

"Can we talk to your son please."Jake asked when they where in the house.

'One minute." The mother said and walked to the stairs, "ANDREW! COME DOWN NOW!" The mother yelled
up the stairs.

"What is it?" Andrew asked as he ran down stairs.

"These kids want to talk to you. Well invite them in and you can talk to them in your room."

"Come on." Andrew said walking upstairs. "You're Jake, right?" He asked while they were walking
upstairs.

"Ya."

"Wow. Well this is my room."Andrew said pointing to a room in the middle of the hallway. Inside
was all different kinds of pokemon just wondering around and not much else. Everything was packed
away in a backpack.

"You moving or something?" Jake asked.

"Kind of. I'm starting my Pokemon Journey soon."

"Well you sure have a lot of pokemon. When I started all I had was-"

"I know." Andrew said sitting on his bed.

"How do you know?"

"The Translater told me all about you."

"Oooookay. Why me?"

"Pidgeo."

"Don't worry I'm getting to that." Andrew said to Pidgeotto.

"I think you're both nuts." Cally said.

"How come I can't understand Pidgeotto?" Jake asked ignoring Cally.

Andrew smiled, "Don't worry you will."

"Growlithe. lith gro wor. (I don't get this kid. Why doesn't he just spit it out.)"

"I don't either." Jake said.

"What did he say?"Andrew asked.

Jake looked surprised, "I thought you said you can understand all pokemon after a while."

"No, just you."

"Why me?"

Andrew smiled, "When the Translater came to me he said that he will die and a boy named Jake will
be the new Translater."

"Woa, wait a sec here! I don't wanna be the Translater!" Jake protested.

Andrew looked shocked, "Why not? It's a big opportunity! I wish I was chosen!"

"Well I don't!"

"It's not like you have a chose here!"

"I can do what I want and you can't make me be the stupid Translater!"

"Don't call him stupid!"

"I'm sorry if I insulted you-"

"You guys." Cally said looking stunned.

"What is it?" Jake asked.

Cally pointed out the window. Outside was The Translater only he was 30 feet tall and glowing red!

Jake, Cally and Growlithe ran outside.

The Translater stopped and looked at Jake, "Are you ready for your inishiation?"

"Well, you see the funny thing is-"

"QUIET!" The Translater thundered.

"Quiet is good."

"YOU ARE READY WHEN I SAY YOU ARE!"

"Okay. Can I just ummmmmm..... goto the can before we go?"Jake said hopefully.

"I'M NOT AS DUMB AS YOU THINK, BOY!" The Translater picked up Jake and Growlithe.

"Growl. (I don't like the looks of this.)" Growlithe wimpered.

"SILENCE!"

"grow. (okay.)" Growlithe said in a small voice.

"CALLY! ANDREW!" Jake yelled but he could not see either of them, then in desperstion
he yelled, "JANISE MAYBE?!" Not even Janise was there.

*5:43 pm.-Inside The Translater's secret cave home.

"Do you like my home Jake?" The Translater asked and poured a glass of water for Jake.
"Drink up,"The Translater offered, Jake didn't touch the glass.

"Andrew must have told you the whole story, is that not true?"

"Ya, he told me." Jake said still in shock.

"Well there is one thing he didn't tell you."

"What's that?"

"My true identity." The Translater said and took of his mask.

"Oh, my gosh! It's you!" Jake exclaimed.

"Groelithe. (That can't be good.)"
