Fighting Philosophies and basic principles of Shan fu Jow
Each style / system has a basic underlying philosophy and for Shan Fu Jow its first having basic awareness as a human being, second to know, examine and study the force of nature, body, mind and spirit. Harnessing the forces of occult and spiritual and when it comes down to fighting end it as quickly as possible with whatever techniques that comes to the mind naturally.
Its fighting philosophy is based one few important leading factors such as,
1.know yourself limitations, strengths, and weakness
2.be aware of your enemy/ enemies and in time cloud his/her mind, maim him, kill him at once.
3.there is a option of refraining from killing techniques until the last possible minute and try to retract oneself
4.make each and every shot count as powerful as a cannonball
5.Regular disciplined practice of each aspect of Shan Fu Jow shall give you immense spirit and power.
6. Dedicate oneself totally to the art and surrender to its teacher and immerge yourself ina quest for highest spiritual realms.
The main principles are: strike the eyes; stop the breath; break the face; explode the ears; crush the groin; twist the tendons; break the fingers; dislocate the joints; break the elbow; and dim mak (nerve points). Break and cut down the legs.
It should also be noted that without the proper Shan Fu training (foundation, basics, conditioning, ging, body connection) and comprehension of the style, the killing hands would be simply reduced to basic blocks, strikes and grabs.
The abundant use of Chut Ming Fu or Jow ming fu side tiger claw for ripping the opponents throat or eyes out. Kwa strikes or tremendous back fists used in conjunction with uproot kicks. Fun gun chaw quat or to twist and break off the tendons. Chao da kumna or to strike and claw. Kumna china to lock and control. Dim yut bei hei or death touch at throat. Noi sup chung dhit or to absorb attacks. Shan fu jow practitioner must attempt to train at Sowl or impenetrable defense
Closeness of styles -Comparision
In many aspects when seen might resemblance the hakka Hung Ga kung fu system , due to its very deep and low powerful stances and claw applications. To the Chow ga system of Loong Jow/Biu Jow due to its one point kill system. To the northern system , for its arsenal of kicks and in healing with the white tiger Bei Fu system. I have closely tried to evaluate what Shan Fu Jow resemblances most but its a bit difficult for me.
Its a classic mixture of styles as distinct as Lan Shou northern barrier sideways arm kung fu meeting with Kwangtung Iron Fists style and advanced Taoist systems of spiritual and internal ways. Maybe its possible other practitioners might find different comparisions.
The break up of Shan Fu Jow from outside looks like this as follows :-
1.Yin Kung Limbering and warm-ups , stretching ex.
2-Ma pu Horse stance and others
3.Khien kay pu footwork and stepping
4.Chao tsu hand strikes
5.Jhat thui- kicks
4.Kung fang ye cow wei- block hit and kick
5.Kung chung ye ho wei- evasion and avoidance
6.Kuens forms
7.Feng chiu siu joint manipulation
8.Hei kung iron body methods
9.Shen hu his nui gun secret breathing techs
10.Tung na light body methods
11.Tian hsueh- vital points methods
12.Chan spiritual meditations
I would state that its a bit unnique in its own manner and represants a authentic but lesser known system which brings together many ideas from diff systems and yet maintains its own natural flavor. Its most important basis is its singular quest for highest spiritual realms and very less known secret Taoist practices which appears rather intriguing to the common laymen or even seasoned practitioners.
The fundamental message of Shan Fu Jow to its practitioners is , become aware of your body and by doing so become aware of your inner mind and spirituality. Then gradually move forward to discover the hidden meanings of life and its various mysterious.
Arts such as Shan Fu Jow , facilitates the seekers mind and body with a surge of essence and its based on true kung fu ethics and ideals.
Practitioners strive to surrender to blissful awakenings of the inner heart and its ways.We dont teach for mere profitable avenues nor will any Shan Fu jow practitioner ever do so.Each student is hand picked and has to under go a careful screening process which is done on basis of astrology , body structure , charatcter and hidden questions. we dont accept anyone who walks in.There is no way Shan Fu Jow is going to become a major practised style and kindly note many people dont know the difference between Wushu and Kung fu. they really dont mean the same! and neither do they come forward as the same.
I am very sorry to see and know of the current affairs of martial arts around the globe. People have started teaching in every nook and corner one can imagine. Its really a very difficult task to become a master. Bieng a martial arts practitioner is vastly different from being a master teacher which , represants a more father or mentor like attitude and not everyone can have this. Our traditions and my own upbringing in a household of martial arts have always stopped me from making a business out of teaching. Also there is a very persistant mis -interpretation amongst many practitioners and students about systems /styles and masters. I advice and request to them sincerely "NO ONE ART IS BETTER OR NO ONE A SUPREME MASTER ". All arts have their major standings and it depends on us as individuals as how we excell and shine.
Message for all Teachers /Masters and different styles practitioners :- Be careful that you dont preach that your own art is like the last thing and others are like misfallen kids on the block.Guide them to the singular united path of martial arts that is higher development of souls. Let your students go out and train under different teachers and masters untill the day the student chooses which art to continue with.Dont teach or try to be experts in aspects you dont really know and try to respect your students as childrens. How many masters do this nowadays i doubt?. Allround development of a student is the greatest responsibility of a master.
I have always refrained from taking on a major amount of students and they have come to me in plenty. I have always turned down or discouraged people from learning under me for i know very well they wont last long under me and i am not going to teach them point fighting or sport karate for Olympics.Atleast not less then 700-900 students have come at my door hoping to learn from the years of 1988-1992 and i have accepted just about 5-6 and they too did not last in spite of thier promises and failing to pay fees. Every sincere master knows what a tought demanding task it is to take on a new student and then work on them hard for a very long time.
