GRANDMASTER/INHERITOR JEUNG MOON YAN TAI SHING SIJO Dr.TIGER HEBRON
Master Tiger, Born of Semitic Hebrew & Burmese roots started his martial arts training in the very early age of 5 under his late father, who was also a avid martial arts lover. His father drilled him in the lesser known style of Red Crane Gung Fu[ Hong Hok Kune]which his father had learnt from a Burmese Chinese master in Burma. He was adopted by Indian parents later on and found he touring all over the Indian sub continent and parts of southeastern Asia.
His father was posted near the famed Dhauligiri Mountains, where he was taught Chan Buddhism and basics of Taoism by Lady monk Yeu-Da san of the Ryozanji temple at the Dhauligiri monastery, which was a stones, throw away from their house. At the age of 14 after his fathers death he came down to Calcutta city and was introduced to cannon boxing and Gun Boxing routines by a local Chinese master. To broaden his views he joined the famous Black Dragon Karate School in 1982 under Sensei Yame Misumi of Okinawa Budokwai style and also got exposed to Kyokushinkaikan Karate do of Mas Oyama under then reigning Indian Champ Amitabha Dutta. He earned brown belts in both system and also earned himself a green belt in Chito Ryue Karate of Kenwa Mabuni under the organization headed by Grandmaster Chiu Chu Seut of Malaysia.
It was in the summer of 1984 he met his master for the first time. Master Tiger had a habit of always cycling all around china town seeking a true master to teach him more and continue his prior studies. He Joined the Shan fu jow kwoon , where he was accepted due to his previous martial arts background and also his earlier teachers and references were very good. Grandmaster Choy was very reluctant to teach anyone outside the Chinese race and Master Hebron became the first outsider disciple due to his Burmese roots. Following 1984 for 7 long years he drilled single mindedly in the art of Shan fu jow, by then most students had dropped out and by 1993 master Wong and master Phang had gone back to china. Only master Chen , master tiger and grandmaster Choy remained. They would train very earnestly with grandmasters ever watchful eye. Master Chens wife died and then he too had to go back to Taiwan.
In the year of 1989, in order to verify what Master Tiger had learnt of Great Grandmaster Yue. He was directed to participate in the All Hong Kong & Macau Friendship Kung fu Private Championships, which took place in Macau. This was a lesser-publicized underground tournament, where masters from different systems and styles brought their top students together for fighting and checking whose style was superior. By 1989, master Tiger had only trained for 5 years and was on probationer 1st degree black belt . Reluctant but blessed by Great Sijo, he went and fought under the auspices of Great Grandmaster Sijo- Yue and emerged as over all Finalist losing out only to a very well experienced fighter Master Ku of southern Nam Thong Long mantis kung fu from Taiwan with over 12 years of training.
Notable is during the fight itself, Master Ku several times had to limp very painfully for whenever his kick was blocked by Master Tigers iron arms and iron legs techniques. Master Ku, asked him several times about which style was he using to fight? he did not recognize this system at all. Later when Master Ku found out who Master Tigers teacher was, Immensely congratulated him and sought blessings from Grandmaster Yue and praised Tigers performance even with just 5 years of tutelage. Master Ku also was lucky to get some fighting tips from Grandmaster in Mantis and Master Ku was so amazed at Grandmaster Yues proficiency level in mantis but was of a diff mantis style.
Master tiger trained hard every day for 8 hours or more and for next 7 years in traditional Yue secret family tiger fists of shan fu, meditation and his always present spiritual studies, reached a stage of a master himself. In 1991-2 he was awarded the grade of 5th Tuan[ 5th degree]black belt Master instructor teacher of Yue family Shan fu jow fists kung fu after intense dedicated continuos training for 8 years. He was instructed by master Choy to further his studied with Liu Ho Pa Fa Nam Tong Long under Master Wong at Pee Moy kung fu kwoon in China Town.
By this time his friendship with another serious tournament competitior and an awesome fighter Dragon Master Kamal was forged. They had first met at an southeast asian martial arts tournament called Raging Bull which Master Kamal won 5 times in a row. Master kamal and Master Tiger became sworn martial arts brothers. They exchanged fighting techniques and viewpoints. Master Kamal was the pioneer of kick boxing in Indian continent and the founder of Dragon style sweep boxing. Master Kamal has also been a master of iron fists chi Kung and he made the infamous coconut break easy by fists or even forehead. Master Tiger received highest honors from Master Kamals Dragon Fist Martial Arts Organization, which found way to Guinness book of records. Master Tiger trained and received 1st Dan Black Belt in Kick Boxing.
In the same year of 1992-3, Grandmaster Tiger at the insistence of his friend Dragon Master Kamal , gave a demonstration of his superior spiritual chi powers in front of a gathering of press journalists and other martial artists from neighbouring countries.
He demonstrated what is known as "mind chi clouding" tech on 5 press journalists who were stunned by its results. A visiting karateka, trained 4th degree black belt from Ghana challenged to press his throat as he sat in a proper chi kung meditative stance and for three full minutes the karateka squeezed with his full force but Master Tiger remained sitting calmly. The karateka later reported to the press that , this was totally impossible and Master Tiger must be a superior practitioner. On that same day he was challenged by a army personal from Tibet who practices judo and tried to perform what is known as Nage waza & Osai kumi waza on the lapel but he was instantly counteracted by Master Tigers with another technqiue called Gyaku waza , Atemi waza which produced a loud "POP" sound as the mans elbow was dislocated and in a twinkiling of an eye , Master Tiger performed Katsu , and another "POP" followed and the arm was back in place. The judoka bowed low and accepted the superior techniques.Master Tiger later followed by a demonstration of the masters black belt/sash form known as "Chan Kee Fu" and it was telecasted on National Tv all over South of India.
In 1993 he had the greatest fortune to travel with GrandMaster Sijo Choy to the elusive Shan states of Burma-China border and master tiger was honored personally meeting Sijo Choys still living mentor Lama Law Kay Toon. Master Tiger stayed 3 months in that special monastery and received blessings of the Abbot and the legendary Patriarch.
He was introduced to all the higher studies and concepts and in the month of February 1993 he was tested for a full 3 weeks time living only on water and meditating and practicing for 10 hours a day. Master tigers birth has been a very highly spiritual one and he has been blessed and received initiation from not one but 5 awesome spiritual masters. His full life story is an intrigue for anyone who knows or has met him personally.
On completing his tests with full grades he was honored and awarded the title of Tai Shing[Taoist Great Knowledge priest] by Great Grand-Master Lama law Kay Toon and was awarded the highest degree of 10th degree Tuan white belt assimilator grandmaster keeper and successor to Great Grand Master Lama Lay Kay Toon but, Master Tiger declined the rank in favor of the 8th degree Tuan Red Belt for he believed himself unworthy of the coveted white belt that which is worn by most realized souls.
On return to India and with other duties and studies he completed his unfinished Karate studies and gained a valuable Black belt 3rd dan in Karate do Budokan.
Master Tiger started teaching kung fu as early as 1987 and was one of the only persons teaching kung fu openly anywhere in India. Grandmaster in his approaching 80s gave active control to master tiger as master instructor qualified to teach Shan fu jow .In 1994 Grandmaster had to go back to china to meet some family members and letters written to master tiger from china proved grandmaster to be ailing of cancerous disease.
In 1995 grandmaster returned for the last time , still very ailing and 78 years old. Grandmasters last few lessons to master tiger was teaching him about the family fists of Yue Ga and the last masters black belt form was taught known as Chan Kee Fu a fast ferocious and very powerful form to master , the essence of Shan Fu Jow was trasmitted amply and secret techniques such as poison hands , advanced iron hand and strike rock fist , medicines known as Thiet Ta Yao Gin, was disclosed and In an assembly of Chinese masters and disciples in china town, at a small party thrown in favor of master tiger upgrading to masters level. Grandmaster Choy announced the title of Tai Shing Si-Dai-Gung and declared Master tiger as his one and only valid successor to Shan Fu Jow school and to be the next SIJO grandmaster after his demise. Master Tiger kowtowed in that gathering honoring his teacher who had always loved his like a son. Sijo Choy presented Master Tiger with his own personal sacred belt of 5 elements and blessed him abundantly.
Two years later, in 1997 July Great Grand-Master Choy Hon Yue passed away at the age of 80 years leaving his isolated hidden kingdom of Shan Fu Jaw to Master. Dr.Hebron
Master Tiger, has trained many youngsters since 1986. His students have included people from various martial arts backgrounds like Japanese karate, Taekwondo , judo , aikido , boxers , street fighters , many from different kung fu systems and laymen. He has been trainer to elite military hand to hand unarmed combatants. He has three senior students under him and all three have parted ways. Sifu Jiang jie Baek , a second level black belt trained under him for 7 years left to teach martial arts somewhere in middle east and no news thereafter. Master Toe Tong who got side tracked by Chinese under world drug affairs and his last student qualified under him was Si Sook .K.P.Gupta who was rather unfortunately shot in the lungs , underwent operation and now had to choose between living life normally and doing kung fu.
Grandmaster , now seeks able and genuinely interested disciples who shall not only be able to comprehend the system and train hard but also be willing to devote time , energy and backup needed to develop and spread the art globally.Everyone is welcome to join and learn.
In 1999 , he was preparing for a International Masters demonstration meet in Macau to expand and spread Shan Fu Jow to the public. As a rule he would wake up at 5 Am to train and jog. He got hit on the back by a drunk scooter rider one such dawn and seriously injuring his spine and hip joint which ended his chance of the demosntration. He was advised by orthopedic surgeons to affix steel rod to his spine and back and was told he wont be able to practice kung fu or do hard work.He did not take the doctors stupid advice as he himself is a qualified doctor and by self intervention and the use of ancient chinese & Himalayan herbs , accupuncture and bone break medicines known as Thietta Yao he recovered fully and except for occasional pains is quite fit.
GrandMaster Tiger , is one of the few elite masters in this world who has had access to the age old traditional esoteric doctrines of secret Taoist ways . In his own words
I am rather fortunate that I have learnt what I have learnt.
I have seen what I have seen and
I have witnessed whatever I have witnessed
hence now , i deeply comprehend what i see
what i learn and what i witness.
I , would never want to become more bigger then I already am. My teacher was against one doing and learning hundred forms and routines like a mad man. I never understood fully till date how can someone learn 40/50/60/100 odd different forms and weapons when great teachers like my master or those in ancient china practiced not more then 3-7 forms at the maximum.
It has taken me one year to master each of the 5 kuens and another 5 years were spent mastering and understanding them. My master spend 70 years of his life doing these same 5 kunes and the last superior form!.
