Over 100 Rare Candies
First make sure you have at least one Rare Candy in the sixth slot on your item list. Then fly to Viridian. Head north towards the man pacing back and forth. Talk to him and say your not in a hurry. He'll teach you how to catch a Pokemon. After he's done, go to Cinnabar Island and surf up and down the left coast, half of your body on land and half on water. Continue until you come across a Pokemon called Missingo. Don't catch it because it has a virus in it and it's not powerful. Run from it and head back on land. Check you item list and there should be a blur on your second digit for Rare Candies. That means that you have more than one hundered of something.
