POLICY STATEMENT. (Posted June 18, 1999)

The interest of readers comes first. MoneyData usually does not receive any "commission" on listed products. Exceptions are marked with an asterisk (). Our policy is to prefer commissionable products when there is no similar product offering substantially better value. This is in the interest of our readers as well as us, because a reader who purchases a commissionable product can also receive the opportunity to re-sell or re-order at lower cost.

Nonetheless, several times we have forfeited our entrance cost into a commission program because of finding a non-commisionable product of superior value, and we will continue to do so.

Elsewhere also may be stated, "Please reference Christopher Oey." This is optional. (No reference, the bonus goes to waste.)

Opportunities are listed best-to-worst. Please note that (even though this is the best and most objective "small business opportunities" data base you are likely to find anywhere at any price) all evaluations are inherently superficial, changable, and can not replace your personal evaluation. Although every listing is believed "legal," we have no legal expertise, and laws vary depending on locale. Your use of this data hereby implies that you alone accept all responsibility for any consequences.

Statistically, MoneyData is more likely to "make you money" by keeping you away from bad deals than by finding you good ones. Risks vs. returns are much better than the lottery or snowmobiling, but for the average participant, not as good as a job at MacDonald's. Therefore we suggest maintaining low overhead and high patience. Please consider your home business a "hobby" and do not risk any non-expendable time or income. Thank you.

"HOW THIS ALL BEGAN..." (posted April, 1999)

There is no need to order that "Internet Success Course" for $200.00. There is no need to "get promoted on 300 search engines" (and get spammed to death) for $25.00. Just browse this site every few months and you may eventually get all that for free.

What's my angle? Well, I have been watching schemes and scams since they were called "mailorder" back in 1972. I actually made some money in "plate blocks." Now suddenly I discover that this Internet thing may have something. For example, a "virtual stock market" which guarantees over 200% return per annum. (See the discussion under "Virtual Stocks.") Internet casinos which give you $25.00 in chips just for signing up. If you take the bait and leave the hook, you can make something here.

What's the catch? The catch is wading through the trash to find the substantive offers. How to do this? Well, as Hemingway said, "One man alone ain't got a chance." So you get someone to edit a website like this. Then hopefully, two or three readers will join in and all share what they have found. Then, if you think the editor is doing his job, and want deluxe service, you subscribe to his e-mail newsletter for $100.00 per year. Or you just keep visiting this site and take advantage for free (times are tough, so I'll understand).

If you fail to find what you are looking for----just ask. Thank you for your time.

TOPICS WE WOULD LIKE TO COVER (dependant on reader interest):

1) Blackjack, Poker, and other forms of "advantaged gambling."
2) "Passive Multi-Level," "Legal Chain Letters," "Pyramid Schemes," "Internet MLM," etc.
3) Zero investment multi-level marketing.
4) "Virtual Stocks" with a "guaranteed yield."
5) Postage stamps, plate blocks, coins, collectibles.
6) "Really good," high yield, low-risk, traditional mutual funds.
7) Modest but pleasant and "do-able" work-at-home ideas.
8) Bargains, special coupons, free Internet sweepstakes, etc.
9) Discussion forum for your input.
10) E-mail subscription to keep in touch with the latest money scheme trends.
11) Anything for profit with low capital, low training, and low work.
12) Under-recognized charities with which to share if successful.
13) A philosophical discussion of practical necessity: "Why are people so stupid and why am I not one of them (or am I)?"

I promise:

1) To speak plain English.
2) Not to badger you to "sign up."
4) Not to care if you "hear about it from me" but choose to sign up with or "reference" someone else.
5) Not to spam you or sell your address.
6) Not to capitalize every third word or sentence as if assuming you could hardly read.
7) Not to say in ten pages what can be said in one paragraph.
8) Not to waste your time with politics or claptrap.
9) Not to encourage you to become a hustling Frankenstein to friends and neighbors.
10) Always to discuss both "pros and cons."
11) To do equal reporting on "the losers" as on "the winners."

I do not promise:

1) To "reference you" or "sign under you"--even if you are the first to tell me about a good scheme. (Generally I will but can't promise it.)
2) That you will make money.
3) That everything I report is "legal." (Laws vary depending on your locale and I am not a legal expert.)

You must promise:

1) Not to "invest" in any "scheme" any money except what you would otherwise normally "throw away" on lottery tickets, snowmobiles, bingo, or other non-sensical pasttimes.
2) To try slightly to abide by most of my "rules of etiquette" above.
3) Not to hold me responsible for anything.
(Your use of this site hereby consitutes your agreement to these terms.)

What is in it for you?

1) This is your data base. Anything to add? Subtract? Improve? Please tell and I will respond.
2) The success of most "money schemes" depends on "getting in early on the latest trend." This is where you'll find the trend.
3) Seldom are "money schemes" explained in plain English and never with brevity or with both "pros and cons." Here is where they are. If these standards appeal to you, then I think you belong here whether or not you agree with all my opinions. If these standards do not appeal to you, then you do not belong here.
4) Maybe we are both fooling ourselves, but I intend to make money here and if so, so can you.
