A Fresh Start!

After agonising seasons of frustration, morale upset and defeat, the Bluebird Wannabe Football Club has compromised with current BBW manager Luke Alderson with him having one more season on his contract, if he wants that to resume into the future he must bring the RFL trophy back to the BBW cabinet. The BBW board made it clear to Alderson at the end of another poor season that only winning the championship will keep him his job.

With this in mind, Mr Alderson has had to focus most of his budget on transfers this winter break; axing players and bringing in fresh blood. Former BBW player, Tariq Mattar has rejoined the bluebirds and according to Alderson, this time, Mattar will play a major role for the Wannabes.

The ‘daddy long legged’ Alex Thomas has also signed a 1 season contract with the Bluebirds on a £3 million deal. Griffiths, BBW striker, has made it clear that he is a great admirer of the former Patheica Athletica attacking midfielder.

“He possesses quick feet, a terrific striker of the ball and also is well accomplished defensively”.

An interview with……… Stephen Garland

How does you feel you contribute towards the Bluebirds?

“I am the keystone in defence.”

Ok, so does you….

“It’s not does you, it’s ‘do you’”

You say tomato, I say Potato….same fing init!

The real interview with….Stephen Garland

Where do you believe you’ll finish in the league this year?

“First, undoubtedly were gonna’ finish top. Some of the player we possess in this squad this year will play a great part, they’re experienced now and are talented footballers; we have a great strength and depth with many players being able to play in a variety of positions.”

How you lot decided who takes set pieces?

“Yes, we all know that now the departure of our most influential player has left, it has left a lot of our players wanting to fill ‘Eds’ boots. They’ll never be filled but we have some skilful players who can take set pieces.  Honestly I wish it was me taken them, it might be, but I think it will be who ever get’s to the ball first.”

One last question, how has the manager played a part in pre-season?

“The manager, Alderson, has been fantastic. This is one of the main reasons why I believe we will win the league this year. He’s prepared the players so well, he has so much experience as a manager which he has got from LMA Manager 2007”.

One last question, lol, what are the player’s nicknames?

“Well, firstly we have Ieuan Haywood who we all call ‘gifted’. You may be wandering why we call him that…it’s because he’s really gifted a football, better than Ronaldinho. Next is Luke Alderson; he’s called Jigsaw because he goes to pieces in the box. Owen Griffiths is….he doesn’t have one; he doesn’t play football much or sport for that matter, he’s an indoor guy. I have heard a couple of lads call him Poin-dexter…I think that’s how you pronounce it…not sure…”

Were going to have to stop you there as we don’t have enough money; Murdoch charges to much for air time!

BLUEBIRD LEGEND TO MAKE COMEBACK

In the winter season, the bluebirds had a rocky defence, even with BBW legend Garland. They let in an astonishing 27 goals last season which left them finish fifth.

Garland came through the ranks to become a formidable defender in the Bluebird squad. Bluebird President Edward Fox-smith had this statement to say about the veteran.

“What can I say, Big Stevie-G, he was a terrific defender, clumsy at times but got the job done. He would sweep up messy situations at the back when needed and sometimes bombarded up the field and nicked one or two goals.

He is a Franz Beckenbaur type player, a shitter version of the German but that style, influence and experience; you felt safe knowiung he was at the back. At this present time we have a young lad filling in for him, tough job but so far the lads filled his boots well. Luke Alderson has been great at the back for us. All I can say is we can’t wait for the old man to get back into business for us.”

Garland is going in for more inspection on his injury and will be given the final conformation whether he will able to play soon for the BBW team.
