" THE FOLLOWING DESSERTS AND OTHER RECIPES ARE EASY
TO PREPARE AND TASTE VERY GOOD. "

*********************************************

GRAHAM-SQUARE CAKE:
You need two tablespoons of melted butter, one cup of white sugar,
one egg beaten, two tablespoons of flour, one cup of milk, two cups
of crushed graham wafers and 1½ teaspoon of baking powder.

Mix all these ingredients well together in a bowl with a spatula.
Then, put this mix in a 8½"x10¾" pan. Place this pan in the oven
and set at 350° for 40 minutes.
Let the cake cool off before putting the icing on it.

Icing:
You need three quarter of a cup of brown sugar, four tablespoons
of butter, two tablespoons of milk and bring all that to a boil and
let it boil for one minute. Then mix in with it one cup of icing sugar.
You let this cool until it thickens a bit and then you put it over
the graham mix in the pan.

Let this cool for half an hour and then enjoy.

*********************************************

BANANA SPLIT CAKE:
(No cooking required) Use a pan approx. 9"x13".
First layer - Mix together two cups of crushed graham wafers and ½ cup
of melted butter. Place this mix at the bottom of the pan and press on
it with your hands.

Second layer - Mix two cups of icing sugar with ½ cup of melted butter,
add two eggs (add one at a time) and beat this together. You then pour
that over the first layer.

Third layer - Slice three or four bananas and spread over the second
layer. Then mix one twenty once can of crushed pineapple (well drained)
with a large container of Cool Whip. Place this mix on top of the bananas.

BANANA CREAM PIE:
1 pie crust, baked (either your own, frozen or Graham wafers)
1 large pkg. vanilla instant pudding
1 large pkg. banana instant pudding
1 large pkg. Philadelphia cream cheese (250 gr.)
2 cups of milk ( I prefer 2% for this recipe)
Shredded coconut if desired
1 small container of Cool Whip (500 gr.)

Cool pie crust. Soften cream cheese in microwave. Add the 2 puddings
and 2 cups of milk. Mix until thicken (does not take long to thicken).
Place some of the pudding in pie crust, then add 2 or 3 cut bananas
and fill in the rest of the pudding. Cover with Cool Whip. Refrigerate.

This is best served the day it is made. So easy and fast to make that
you can make it in the morning for the evening dinner. Rich and heavy -
pieces of pie are to be cut small.

HASH BROWN CASSEROLE:

1 kg. frozen hash brown 1/2 cup melted butter
1 500 ml. sour cream 1 onion, finely chopped
2 cans of cream of mushroom soup
2 cups Old cheddar cheese (227 gr.), grated

In a large mixing bowl, warm up lightly cr. of mushroom soup.
It will be easier to manage when you incorporate ingredients. Fold in
melted butter (do not substitute for margarine); then add sour cream
and onion. Add hash brown; fold in well. Fold in grated cheese.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 to 1-1/2 hrs, covered casserole. Can uncover
last 20 mins. Check middle of casserole to see if it is warm. Can use
a 8-1/2" x 14" casserole or 2 smaller round ones. Even better reheated.

Note: McCain is the only company I know of that makes the hash browns
in pkg. of 1 kg. Most other companies use 750 g. pkg Make sure you use
1 kg.; otherwise it will be too runny.
Cheese will be easier to grate if you place in freezer for 1/2 hour.

Bon appétit!
