Do you remember when calling to Cuyahoga County? There were also per-minute charges to call into Avon, Avon Lake, Lorain, etc. A call from N. Ridgeville into Cuyahoga County could cost as much as 35 cents per minute. That all changed after my 3-year-battle with Alltel, GTE, and the PUCO. N. Ridgeville and Elyria was awarded the option of toll-free calling for $12/month to Cuyahoga or Lorain County, $18/month for both, or use the new rate of 5 cents/minute anywhere in Cuyahoga or Lorain Counties.

The following are awards presented:

Among your many involvements, you are a member of Coalition of Ohioans forState of the Art Communications and St. Paul Lutheran Church, chairman of the Street Repair Committee, spokesperson for the Extended Area Service case, and a former Mills Creek Association trustee, Girl Scout leader, volunteer at Wilcox elementary and N. Ridgeville Middle schools, and secretary of Shepherd of the Ridge Lutheran Church. by your unfaltering dedication to service and achievement, you have distinguished yourself as a conscientious and hard-working ohioan.

Willingly giving of your time, energy, and abilities, you have worked tirelessly to better the world around you, and through your generous efforts, you have earned the respect and esteem of the entire community. we are certain that, in the years to come, you will continue to display the same unwavering commitment to excellence for which you have been recently honored, and you are truly deserving of high praise. Thus, with sincere pleasure, we commend you for your exemplary record of community service and alute you as one of Ohio's finest citizens. GOLDEN KERMEL AWARD Presented to Gail Minnick In Appreciation For Your Dedication To The N. Ridgeville Community, August 8, 1997, North Ridgeville Corn Festival.

CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION from the Board of Directors and Members of the Chamber of Commerce: Our sincere thanks to Gail Minnick for her timeless efforts to obtain improved telephone rates for the City of N. Ridgeville. As we make these calls to Cuyahoga County, we can say thanks for the reduced rate. January 16, 1997

COMMENDATION from the City of N. Ridgeville, which read: A Resolution of Commendation to Gail Minnick in appreciation of her tireless and persistent efforts to reduce telephone rates in the city of N. Ridgeville.

Whereas, Gail Minnick has worked actively for the benefit of the community in her efforts to reduce telephone rates and to establish a flat rate for phone calls to Cuyahoga County; and

Whereas, Gail Minnick has served as a lead petitioner representing area consumers in the City of N. Ridgeville's petition before The public utilities Commission of Ohio to reduce and rstructure telephone rates; and

Whereas, gail was a decisive force in the negotiations with area telephone service providers in achieving a more equitable telephone rate structure. The strenuous work of Gail Minnick and sacrifices over several years have enriched the N. Ridgeville community and Lorain County beyond measure, and her efforts will result in economic relief to residents and business.

Now therefore, be it resolved by the Council of the City of N. Ridgeville, Lrain County, Ohio that:

Section 1. That Gail Minnick be publicly commended for her volunteer services to the City of N. Ridgeville.

Section 2. That it is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the adoption of this Resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements, including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.

Section 3. that this Resolution shall take effect and be in full force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
