Ash Catchem- The main character in Pokémon, Ash is a ten-year-old boy who dreams of becoming a great pokémon trainer. He started his quest from Professer Oak, who he got his Pokédex, Pokéballs, and Pikachu from. Ash is pretty headstrong and brave, but his ego just seems to inflate like a balloon when he succeeds in something. Plus, he's very excitable.^^

Misty- She's a red-headed girl who first meets Ash when he steals her bike to get away from some Spearows. Later, she tracks him down and demands pay-back for her now broken bike. Seeing that Pikachu was hurt, she calmed down, and ended up joining Ash on his quest. Misty is scared of a lot of things, including bugs. She and Ash fight quite a lot, mainly about the way he is handling things. ("I can't BELIEVE you got us lost again!!!") Later, we find out that she and her three sisters are the leaders of the Cerulean City gym. Misty also wants to be a great Pokémon trainer.

Brock: He was the leader of the gym in Pewter City, where Ash got his first badge. Brock wants to be a pokémon breeder, and also makes his own Pokémon food. He also joined Ash and Misty on their quest. Bronc also falls in love with basically every single cute girl he meets.

Professer Oak: He's the professor in Ash's town, and gave Ash his Pokémon things at the begining. A lot of boys from Ash's town got things from him, and all did one day in the morning. They were all supposed to start with one of three Pokémon: Charmander, Bulbasaur, or Squirtle. Unfortunentally, Ash slept in, and had to settle for a Pikachu. Professer Oak has a grandson named Gary, who is Ash's main rival. Oak also gave Ash his pokédex, which records and stores information about pokémon.

Gary Oak: Professer Oak's grandson. He is also on a quest to be a great Pokémon trainer, and is apperantly competing with Ash. He has a lot more pokémon right now, and is pretty far ahead of Ash. Not much is known about him yet in the TV series.

Team Rocket: Jessie and James. They are Team Rocket, the "bad guys" in the show. They work for a boss that hasn't been revealed yet, and try to steal Pokémon. They love speeches, and make a lot of them. Currently, they are quite broke, and are going after Pikachu. In the past, they were kicked out of a Pokémon private academy after failing a test.
