[Continued from
Part I]
To get to the
Shock League, you'll need all of the badges, and almost all of the HMs. Now,
retrun to your home town, and travel east via surfing. You'll get to an area on
a coast with a cave. Now, using HM 07 to float up waterfalls, you'll easily get
past the cave, and on your way to the final cave before the leauge.
After
battling a ton of trainers, you'll end up in an easy to solve cave (unlike
Victory Road). Before you get to the end of the cave, your rival shows up for a
final time, to determine if you're ready for the league. If you struggle beating
him, trian your pokemon up some more. Once you finish this, you'll end up in the
center/market. Make sure that you have at least 1 or 2 pokemon over 60. You'll
also need 3 or 4 at 50 for backup. All those potions and such that you've picked
up over the way should be useful. There are also probally 3 or so revives that
you've picked up along the way to help.
The League has 5 trainers that
you have to battle. Here they are in the order that they appear, and their
pokémon:
????? - Psycic Pokémon?

Koga - Posion Pokémon

Bruno - Fighting Pokémon

????? -
Evil/Demon Pokémon?

Lance - Dragon Pokémon
Once you beat
the league, you'll go through the credits, Oak and what looks like your Mom show
up, and you finish. At the end it reads THE END... of course, that's not the
case...
4. The 'Retro' World
Now that you've become a pokémon master,
it's time to take a step back into the past. Go back to your home town, and talk
with the guy who gave you your pokémon. He'll give you a ticket to be able to go
on the ship to the old world. Go back to Gym Town #6, with the empty gym. You'll
now be able to get somewhere in the large buliding with 3 men guarding the port.
This leads to a boat, and after beating some trainers on there it will arrive in
the Red and Blue world! Here you can compete for the 8 badges that you have
probally won a long time ago. Before you can access some of the gyms, however,
you'll need to do some specail things to access some of the gyms, so take a look
at this walkthrough:
Gym Leader 1: Lt. Surge:
Surge has been training a
lot, and now is a formable rival. His electric pokemon are around level 40 or
so, including a raichu and a few others. His gym is very easy to get to, being
in the same place, and just requiring the cut HM that you already have.
Gym
Leader 2: Sabrina:
Again, Sabrina has been training, and she has some more
pokemon to her aresenol. However, she's probally easier than she was in Yellow,
seeing how she had 50 abras, kadabras, and alakazams then. Now her pokémon are
just around 40-some, and contains a psychic lineup. Her gym is right where it
used to be: Saffron City. However, the Fighting Dojo next door is trainer
less.... might they show up ever (email me if you know how to get them to show
up)?
Gym Leader 3: Erika:
Right where she was in the old games, Erika
lives up to her other gym leaders, and has 40 some pokémon. She has grass (jee,
really!), and is pretty easy to eat (especailly if you have a houhou or a fully
evolved fire starter).
Gym Leader 4: Koga's Sister:
As you have noticed,
Koga has been promoted to a Pokémon League contestant, so his sister has taken
over the local gym. Looks like she should have been in the league, because her
pokemon are right up there with koga's. At 40 some, you still probally will be
able to beat her pretty darned easily. Her gym is in the same kablam place, on
the same kablam network, at the same kablam time (wasn't that show cool when you
were a kid?).
Gym Leader 5: Misty:
If you went to fight Misty before you
beat the otehr 4 leaders, you'll find that she's not in her gym, nor anyone
(except that scary little advice guy). To get her in the gym, you'll have to
beat the other 4 gym leaders, and when you show up in her gym, you'll see a team
rocket member who runs off. Goto nugget bridge, and beat her, then go to where
bill used to be. You'll find Misty there, and she'll retrun to her gym along
with her other junior trainers. Beat Misty, who has some Starmies and other
water types, along with Golduck at 40-some levels, to earn the Cascade Badge.
Her gym is also right smackdown where it used to be.
Before you go to the
next Gym Leader (Brock), you'll need to play 'Wake The Oaf [snorlax]'. To play
this game (well, it's not really a game), go to where the power plant used to be
(west of Cerulean, then surfing down south to the plant), and talk with all the
guys there. When you leave, a guard will tell you something, probally saying
that they need a part that Team Rocket stole. To get this peice, return (bleh!)
again to Misty's Gym, and use your itemfinder. You'll notice something different
when you're walking about halfway up and to the left. Then press the A button
franticly until you find the item that the people in the plant need.
Once you
have the item, return to the power plant, and talk with the man next to the
machinne. Once you get there, he'll go on and on and on... until he finally
gives you TM 07. Once you have TM 07 (it's a powerful electric attack), fly to
lavander town, and go to the pokemon tower. Talk with the man with his face in
the wall, and he'll give you a station to listen to on your radio, to apparently
listen to the pokeflute.
Now after doing all this mess (and causing me to
write a LOT), FINALLY go a little south until you go to where snorlax was in red
and blue, and travel west a little past some trainers and grass till you get to
the new oaf (snorlax). Blast up the sound on your radio (go four down on your
menu, then press right 3 times) on the channel 14. Play this for a few seconds,
then close the radio and press A on snorlax. The big oaf will wake up, and fight
you (catch him! he's level 50!!!). Once you beat him or capture him you'll be
able to head through diglett's cave to the next gym!!!!
Gym Leader 6:
Brock:
After comming out of the cave, and cutting down a bush head a little
north to Pewter. Heal your pokémon, and get ready to take on brock's onixes,
ryhorns, omastars, and his other rock pokemon that are at level 40 or so. Once
you beat him, and get the boulder badge, you're ready to travel south to your
next gym. Also, the gym is right where it used to be (what a surprise).
Gym
Leader 7: Blaine:
Go down through the now demolished viridian forest, through
viridian (where you may want to train your pokemon to the mirror image of
yourself, who has level 50 full evolutions of all the starters), down through
pallet to where cinnabar island used to be. It's now basicly just a volcano, and
the island is now very small. There is just 1 man, talk with him, and after a
very long chat, he'll soar into the air. Now, travel east to where seafoam
islands used to be (why did they take that out?! Why!!??). Go into the cave, and
you'll find (you guessed it) blaine. Blaine has some weird fire guys, among them
being a rapidash, all at (you guessed it again) level 40 or so.
Gym Leader 8:
GARY!!!
Jeez, anyone can have their own gym now a days. Looks like gary
bummed out after being defeated by Ash in the league, and decided to take over
the Viridian Gym (apparently after Giovanni vanished or something like that).
Gary won't be at the gym until you have 15 badges (lazy I bet). Once you get
there, he won't be as easy as the other leaders. His pokemon are levels 50-60,
and have pokemon that he generally had in the leauge when you last faced him
(amazing how some of his pokemon actually lost levels). Nonetheless, after
beating everyone else and all the trainers, you should be able to beat him
pretty easy, although he may actually be tougher than lance.
Now that
you have 16 badges, head over to pallet town (in the old world), and talk with
professor oak. He'll tell you something or other, and now you can go to the path
that the guard used to block before you got to victory road. Next go to where
the leauge would be in the old map, and enter the house. Go left a tiny bit, and
exit through the door. You're now at the unknown dungeon of gold and silver.
Instead of battling mewtwo at the end of this, you'll battle: RED!(ash). But to
get to him, you'll have to go west through some grass with 40-50 level
pokemon.
Before you enter the cave to the west, make sure that you stop at
the pokemon center! You'll need to have your pokemon up there, because Red has
pokémon in excess of level 80. Once you have your pokemon healed, save, so if
you lose, you won't lose half of your money, you can just turn the game off, and
restart from where you save. Anyways, enter the cave, where you'll need to use
all of your knowledge to get through it. At the end of the cave, you'll finally
meet up with Red. His team consists of:
Pikachu lvl 82
Psycic
Eevee
Snorlax
Charizard
Blastoise
Venusuar
Beating him rolls the
credits again. But is this the end? What about the orange league? Was the that
TV show only? What happend to the Pokémon League? Why did you have to get 16
badges? Why is Koga in the league? Why was the league so horrible? What the heck
is up with pokémon #251, and where is it? Why are you transported to the
mountain pokémon center when you beat Ash, not your house? Why can't you do
anything if you go back on the boat from when you're in the Retro Map back to
the Gold and Silver one? All these questions and more will hopefully be answered
by next time.
5. What's New From Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green?
Well, for
one thing, the graphics are totally different. They're now in full color, and
are much improved over yellow, which were improved over the 3 previous versions.
Next, there are 106 new pokémon (at least), with several rare ones (where are
lugia and houhou?). There is also a new clock feature, which determines if it's
day or night (you can only get some pokemon in either hte day or the night).
Each pokemon now has a male or female sign, and you can breed pokemon (although
I'm not sure where that is).
I have yet to see the skateboard, which was
rumored to be the new tranportation in the game. There were also rumors that
Togepi evolved like eevee, with different stones, but those rumors have been
squashed.
