Pokemon Gold and Silver
Pokemon Gold/Silver Cartridge (Japanese)
|
It is said that this game will have over 250 monsters and each having their own gender which means there would be a girl and a boy Pokémon! New Tricks and New Abilities! Brand-new Pokemon will learn brand-new tricks. It is said that over 200 tricks are there, and there also will be brand-new abilities. The screen images of battle are much improved. Also, the monsters will be more realistic, as they will be diurnal and nocturnal, meaning you'd actually have to wait for them to wake up at a certain time of day for them to fight. You can check Pokemon's pre-evolved status! For example, you can see the Clefable's former data when it was Clefairy in Red or Blue Versions. And some Pokemon may evolve in Gold and Silver even if they were thought to have been at their final evolution or Red and Blue Versions.
Since the Pokémon can be nocturnal or diurnal, means the game will have a clock, or timer, to keep track of this. Also, Nintendo may be planning for the game to be in Color. You can use the skateboard as a new traffic facility! In addition to bicycle by which you could move comfortably in Red and Blue Versions, you can use the skateboard to move fast and may be able to go unexpected place in Gold and Silver Version.
Also, there's a new version of Pikachu in the game. He is a nicely plump, BLUE Pikachu-looking creature, who is called Mariru, meaning Marine Blue. His American name is Pikablu. As said before, he will be plump, and that means he's plumper than Pikachu. He's made his appearence in the movie "Pikachu no Natsuyasumi" too. Also, the Pokedex will be upgraded and have some new functions.
Because the Pokémon in this new game would have a specific gender, Pokemon bears a child! All Pokemon that appear in Gold and Silver are classified into male and female, just as the case of Nidoran in Red and Blue. Pokemon can be crossbred and make a baby by laying 'Poke-Egg' if they are same species.
The main problem? The older versions of PokéMon, PokéMon Red, Green, Blue, and Pikachu will NOT be able to READ the data of the new monsters of Gold and Silver but Pokémon Red, Green, Blue and Pikachu would be able to SEND their monster data to the new version.
Ths graphics seem good and expect the game play to be even better. The planned release of this game would probably be around April '99 in Japan. The American release date would probably be around the same time.

A new fighting game is coming out soon filled with characters from all different games. Nintendo managed to put together a new fighter/action game by the name of Nintendo All-Star Dai-Rantou Smash Brothers, or as it is simply called at NOA, Smash Brothers.
Each character in the game has his/her own fighting skills, techniques and gameplay. The gameplay is also pretty simple. It's possible to play the game using just a few buttons, so it's easy for beginners, but will actually pose a serious challenge to more experienced gamers.
If a character falls off the stage/platform, he or she has the opportunity to get back in before a set time limit expires.
If you get hurt and get attacked during battle, you'll lose power and any attacks after would hurt you even more. After, you'll be most likely to be attacked by your opponents or enemies.
In the game, you have the option of playing as one player where you get to play by yourself and challenge other characters in the game or you may play the Versus mode: Two- to four-player battle mode. In the time-limited battle mode, your personal tally of falls against strikes is weighed up against your opponent's scores.
In Stock Mode battle, you play against the other players teams. In both modes you start with a damage level of 300%. If there was to be a draw, there is a sudden-death contest to determine the winner.
-Mario: Your favorite plumber. Good for beginners.
-Donkey Kong: Great for power and speed. Good fighting techniques, too.
-Link: Can launch powerful attacks with his sword. Also rather handily wields 2 other weapons to great effect: bombs and his boomerang.
-Samus: Long-distance attacks and air attacks a specialty. Capable of nimble, quick moves.
-Yoshi: Capable of very high jumps. Can catch hold of enemies with his tongue and change them into an egg!
-Kirby: Has the ability to mimic his opponents' killer attacks. Can also fly for a short time.
-Fox: Has the advantage of speed and lightning-quick mid-air attacks. Can also use his blaster to get away from, or attack, enemies.
-Pikachu: Can move and turn on a dime very quickly. Can also inflict damage with his electric shock attack.
-Bowser: The big bad guy from the Mario series pays a destructive visit.
-Blue Falcon (Falco): Who, you ask? F-Zero X's super-fast racing stud, of course.
After you select your character, you can pick the stage for the battle. Each character has a home ground (so there are eight basic stages)
It's not determined when this game would be released but I would think about sometime next year or so....
