[-Pokemon at the Toy Fair 2000-]
The other day was the event of the Toy Fair 2000, and Pokémon brought the house down with new toys and games from Hasbro. Presented with a 20ft soft Pikachu, the new merchandise has been scheduled to be released very soon. These include Dexter, the new electronic talking Pokédex, and Action Combat Figures which concentrate on an attack of a Pokémon.
The most spectacular toy was the Battle Stadium figures which contain something called a Think Chip. These figures will actually be able to battle with each other and the Think Chip records the number of battle the Pokémon has won and lost, and therefore, it's strength and attacks. When released in August, there will be 7 figures, two of them being Squirtle and Geodude. Using Dexter, aforementioned, you will be able to view the Pokémon's experience, level and attacks. I must say, that these look absolutely awesome!
Also revealed were plush toys of Togepi and Mew that can move about, talk and respond to how they are treated!! More stuffed toys will be released, and other merchandise like Pokéball shaped CD players and walkie-talkies are on the list too. Even the TCG was given a show at the fair due to it's one year anniversary. The official announcement of the Team Rocket edition showed an 82 card set, and Wizards are releasing a new version of the Base Set. This is probably what Base Set 2 will be. But we are all waiting to find out!!

[-No Episdoe??????-]
Well today there was no new episode, a change from the last few weeks. Of course if that wasn't bad enough, Kids WB is back to it's old and stupid theme weeks. Next weekend is a show-wide "in the beginning" theme, every show will show it's first episodes. Lucky for us, Kids WB is being lenient and we will get one new episode next week. But what happened to that lost episode "Shell Shocked"? Will the WB remain stupid enough to skip that episode and never play it again?

[-No Cantonese Release on Porygon Episode-]
Our hopes for a Cantonese release of Electric Soldier Polygon on VCD are gone. It was a while ago that I went to a store that sold Japanese and Cantonese music CDs and VCDs. They released new episodes ranging from The Bridge Bicycle Gang to Who Gets to Keep Togepi? I searched through the VCDs, and guess what
they skipped the episode too!!! I expected them to show all the lost episodes, but I guess they wanted to be on the safe side. However, they did release Holiday at Acapulco and The Legend of Dratini.

Every once in a while, the Pokemon Centers in Osaka and Tokyo come out with a new item. This time it is a special edition of the Color Pocket Pikachu! As you can see, this version of the Pocket Pikachu is pearl white and has a silhouette of Pikachu on its casing; other than that, all other functions remain the same. And now back to American news... Toy Fair! Yup, the Pokemon 2000 line up will be revealed at the Toy Fair in New York this upcoming Sunday! Expect to see Stadium and Gold/Silver showcased! No word on Pokemon Attack yet... Heres some extra tidbits for you: In 2000, Nintendo projects that Pokemon (all aspects of it) will rake in a whopping $2.8 billion US! [-Kid Sues School Over Lost Cards-]
Rudy Treat brought his TCG cards to school despite the rules. They were confiscated but Rudy never got them back. He feels that the stack of cards were worth $5,000 and the school must make up for it! This is what I think on the matter: Rudy was told not to bring cards to school, they were confiscated and lost. He were told not to bring them, he must now suffer. In actuality the cards have a market value of $0. Cards have no value because all prices are mere speculation. Whether you can get money for them or not, they are worth nothing.

[-Three New Episodes-]
There were 3 new episodes today. Fit to be Tide and Pikachu Re-Volts were excellent episodes, but the Crystal Onix although better than most episodes, were shown off by the two before it. I believe that Iyse has already put up episode guides for these episodes. And unfortunately the WB has pulled a fast one on us again; we were all hoping to get 3 new episodes a week, but the WB has changed it and now we shall only be getting 2 new episodes next Saturday!

Now you can have your Pokemon and eat it too! Pikachu, Squirtle, Charmander, Poliwhirl, Meowth and Jigglypuff can now be found on their own Kraft Macaroni and Cheese package; on the blue box! Each Pokemon will have their own unique pasta. In addition to Pokemon shaped pasta, each box will come with a free Pokemon collector's coin. With 42 in total, you're going to have to eat a lot of macaroni to get them all. We've wondered what Pokemon tastes like...
|
[-New Pokemon CD-]
Now this CD is very peculiar... The Pokemon World Collector's Edition Enhanced CD comes out February 8th. On the CD are 3 new songs: Pokemon World [English Pokemon Theme Version 2, video available for download at this site], Pikachu's Winter Vacation Theme [video also available for download at this site] and the instrumental version of the PWV Theme. Along with the three new songs are a 1 minute video, a Pokemon screensaver and 4 Windows backgrounds. One question I am forcing myself to ask, "Is that it?" I realize that the CD comes with 3 new songs, but doesn't it have any other songs with it?

[-Team Rocket TCG sets?-]
Rumors Rumors. That is what is going around right now, a lot of people are talking about if the Team Rocket sets are actually coming Saturday 8th. A lot of people believe it is true, others say it is false info. If you check around at the Wizards [Official TCG site] you will notice there is NO sign of Team Rocket sets. And the TCG usually go online before they are sold in stores. I myself have called five of my local TCG stores and 1 said they are getting them in on Saturday! That was Babages. The Wizards of the coast store said they did not know at that time. They are usually the ones who determine if the rumors are false or not.

[-New Future Pokemon Games-]
I haven't updated here in a while, sorry! But now, new information has been released on new Pokemon Video games. Two new game boy games! Pokemon Attack, a Pokemon puzzle game! The first ever! Not much is known about it except it is a puzzle game. If you ever played Kirby's Avalanche; it is said to be similar but with Pokemon characters. Another new game, rumor only, said to be coming out in Japan: is a sequel to the Game Boy Card GB. Said to have neo cards of Gold/Silver Pokemon. I hope to have more info on both these games soon, I will keep you informed.

[-Evil PokeMoms Unite!-]
We often hear about the violence caused by the Pokemon craze around the world; but now it has turned for the worst. Usually it's two Pokemon fans who get into a fight, but this time it's their mothers! Dawn Marie Herbert and Maria Grazilla were at a bus stop with their children when Herbert started an argument over a bad trade their children had made during school. Police Officer Steve Coleman reports that Herbert proceeded to throw a full coffee cup at Grazilla; the two of them then charged each other and spent some time pulling each other's hair. Both women are being charged with disorderly conduct.

[-New Pokemon Base Set Edition-]
Some of you may have heard that there is a second edition to the Base set of the TCG coming out soon; this is true. The new edition is not something they did in Japan, but it is something that WotC likes to do with their card games [M:TG - Alpha, Beta, Unlimited, Revised, 4th, 5th, etc...]. The new edition will have 130 cards in it; a mix of the original Base set and the Jungle set. The so called "boring" cards from the Base and Jungle sets will be removed from this release, as well as other cards that WotC has deemed useless and inefficient. Information on the cards will remain the same, but they will have a different border color and set symbol; as well as some new artwork for a few cards and new decks. This new edition is scheduled for release sometime in February.
