You Caught a Venonat
Yellow Versions
In the beginning, when you leave Pallet Town, Professor Oak will come get Ash like in the US Blue/Red. Then is shows Oak fighting a wild Pikachu. Oak throughs a Pokéball and he gives you Pikachu.
The Pokémon that Gary gets in the beginning is an Eevee.
Jesse and James are in the game. Their Pokémon are Meowth, Ekans, and Koffing. They evolve later in the game.
It is possible to get Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur. Just like in the show.
Pokémon from all versions are present.
Cheats don't work in this version like other Japanese versions.
You could print Pokédex data via the Gameboy Printer. (US printer compatible) Nice stickers!!!
Pictures of Pokémon and some Gym leaders are better.
Pikachu says, "Pikachu"
Pikachu follows you around
Has many elements of the show but not all
The game also has a special GB Printer Option, allowing you to print out your Pokedex!
Sometimes when you talk to a trainer it will show them catch a Pokémon.(Like Oak in the beginning of the game).
I would also like to say in the Gameboy Camera, when you stamp, there are Pokémon stamps. There is Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Meowth, and Mew. Anyone with a GB camera look twice!
Gold/Silver Versions
It is said that this game will have over 250 monsters, and each having their own gender which means there would be a girl and a boy Pokémon! New Tricks and New Abilities! Brand-new Pokemon will learn brand-new tricks. It is said that over 200 tricks are there, and there also will be brand-new abilities. The screen images of battle are much improved. Also, the monsters will be more realistic, as they will be diurnal and nocturnal, meaning you'd actually have to wait for them to wake up at a certain time of day for them to fight. You can check Pokemon's pre-evolved status! For example, you can see the Clefable's former data when it was Clefairy in Red or Blue Versions. And some Pokemon may evolve in Gold and Silver even if they were thought to have been at their final evolution or Red and Blue Versions.
Since the Pokémon can be nocturnal or diurnal, means the game will have a clock, or timer, to keep track of this. Also, Nintendo may be planning for the game to be in Color. You can use the skateboard as a new traffic facility! In addition to bicycle by which you could move comfortably in Red and Blue Versions, you can use the skateboard to move fast and may be able to go unexpected place in Gold and Silver Version.
Also, there's a new version of Pikachu in the game. He is a nicely plump, BLUE Pikachu-looking creature, who is called Mariru, meaning Marine Blue. His American name is Pikablu. As said before, he will be plump, and that means he's plumper than Pikachu. He's made his appearence in the movie "Pikachu no Natsuyasumi" too. Also, the Pokedex will be upgraded and have some new functions.
Because the Pokémon in this new game would have a specific gender, Pokemon bears a child! All Pokemon that appear in Gold and Silver are classified into male and female, just as the case of Nidoran in Red and Blue. Pokemon can be crossbred and make a baby by laying 'Poke-Egg' if they are same species.
The main problem? The older versions of PokéMon, PokéMon Red, Green, Blue, and Pikachu will NOT be able to READ the data of the new monsters of Gold and Silver but Pokémon Red, Green, Blue and Pikachu would be able to SEND their monster data to the new version.
Ths graphics seem good and expect the game play to be even better. The planned release of this game would probably be around April '99 in Japan. The American release date would probably be released sometime in Fall 99'.
