BROCK

Brock shoud be easy with a sqirtle or
bulbasaur trained up to L.12,but he might
be a challenge with a charmander.If you
defeat him he'll give you TM 34,which
teaches the bide techniqe,and the Boulder
Badge.The Boulder Badge gives your pokemon
a slight power boost,and allows you to use
flash.


MISTY
area:Cerulean City
pkmn:staryu L.18,starmie L.22

Bulbasaur is best against Misty's water
type pokemon,but if you don't have bulbasaur,
pikachu will do.Once you defeat Misty,she
will give you TM 11 and the Cscade Badge.
The Cascade Badge will ensure that all
pokemon up to L.30 will obey you,and allows
cut to be used outside of battle.TM 11
contains bubblebeam.Teach it to a sqirtle
or another water pokemon.Bubblebeam is much
better tham bubble.




LT. SURGE
area:Vermilion City
pkmn:voltorb L.21,pikachu L.18,raichu L.24

Ground type pokemon such as diglet or geodude
will easily wipe out Lt. Surges lineup.Be sure
to teach a pokemon dig,and it will almost always
be a 1 hit K.O.If you win,L.T. Surge will give
you the Thunder Badge and TM 24.The Thunder Badge
will boost the speed of your pokemon.It will also
let you use fly.TM 24 teaches thunderbolt.Teach
TM 24 to pikachu if you have one.


ERIKA
area:Celadon City

Flying or fire type pokemon are best against Erika's
grass pokemon.If you defeat Erika,you will receive
the Rainbow Badge and TM 21.the Rainbow Badge will
make all pokemon up to L.50 obey your commands.It
also allows you to use strength any time you wish.
TM 21 is mega drain,and it replinishes half of the
damage your pokemon inflicts .Teach it to a grass
pokemon.


SABRINA
area:Saffron City

Sabrina is one of the most difficult gym leaders
to beat.Her psychic pokemon can confuse your pokemon
into hurting themselves badly.To avoid this,switch
your pokemon as soon as they become confused.You can
use any type of pokemon except poison,fighting,or
ghost to defeat her.If you are victorous, she will
reward you with the Marsh Badge and TM 46.The Marsh
Badge ensures that all pokemon up to L.70 will obey
you.TM 46 contains psywave.It's a pathetic move,but
you can teach it to a psychic pokemon if you want to.


KOGA

koffing L.37,weezing L.43

Koga is fairly easy compared to Sabrina.A psychic or
ground type will easily beat his pokemon.He will give
you TM 06 and the Soul Badge when you defeat him.TM 06
contains toxic.You can teach toxic to a poison type
pokemon.The Soul Badge will slightly boost the defense
of your pokemon and allow you to use surf outside of
battle.


BLAINE
area:Cinnabar Island

rapidash L.42,arcanine L.47

Blaine has only fire type pokemon.Water or ground type
pokemon will douse their flames.You will receive TM 38
and the Volcano Badge once you defeat him.TM 38 is fire
blast,which is an excellent move.Definetely teach fire
blast to a good fire pokemon.The Volcano Badge will
increase your pokemons' special attack a little bit.


GIOVANNNI
area:Viridian City
pkmn:rhyhorn L.45,dugtrio L.42,nidoqueen L.43
nidoking L.45,rhydon L.50

Giovanni is the last gym leader(excluding the Elite 4 if
you consider them gym leaders.)He uses ground and rock type
pokemon.Water or grass pokemon are very affective against
him.He will give you the Earth Badge and TM 27 when you win.
The Earth badge will ensure that ALL pokemon will obey you.
TM 27 contains fissure.Fissure is a 1 hit KO,if it connects.
I don't like fissure because it almost always misses,but you
can teach it to a ground pokemon.
