Gym Leaders

Gym Leaders for Red/Blue, Yellow, FR/LG:
1. Brock of Pewter City: Red/Blue,FR/LG: Geodude LV. 12, Onix Lv 14. If you chose Bulbasaur or Squirtle, this battle will be fairly easy. If you chose Charmander, catch a Caterpie in Viridian forest and train it to LV.10, where it will evolve into Butterfree and learn Confusion. Yellow: Geodude LV. 10, Onix LV.12. This battle will be very easy if you use a Butterfree and order it to use Confusion. For any of the versions above, a Manky will also do.

2. Misty of Cerulean City: Red/Blue,FR/LG:Staryu LV.18, Starmie LV.21. If you have an Ivysaur, this battle will be extremely easy. If not, a Pikachu from Viridian forest or Oddish/Bellsprout from Route 25 will do the job. Yellow: Staryu LV.18, Starmie LV.21. Pikachu will do great here and Bellsprout or Oddish are also good.

3.Lt.Surge of Vermillion City: Red/Blue,FR/LG: Voltorb LV. 21, Pikachu LV.18, Raichu LV.24. Catch a Diglet in Diglet Cave and this battle will be quite easy. Grass Pokemon are strong against Electric Pokemon, so use 'em if you have 'em. Yellow: Raichu LV.28. Wow. One Pokemon. Diglet+Bulbasaur=Thunderbadge.

4.Erica of Celadon City:Red/Blue,FR/LG:Victreebell LV.29, Tangela LV 24, Vileplume LV.29. These Pokemon can be difficult. charmeleon can take them but you might want to use Pidgeotto and Vulpix if you did not choose the fire starter. Yellow: Victreebell LV.32,Tangela LV.30, Vileplume LV.32. You should have Charmeleon by now and if you have been training Butterfree, use it.

5.Koga from Fushia City:Red/Blue,FR/LG: Koffing LV.37, Muk LV.39, Koffing LV.37, Weezing LV.43. Well, a strong Alakazam will do great here but don't use any Pokemon like Venasaur. Watch out for Explosions and Sludges! Yellow: Venonat{3} LV. 44.46,48, Venomoth LV.50. Koga will be very weak against Alakazam and Charizard. His team is strong in levels, but weak in attacks.

6.Sabrina from Saffron:Red/Blue,FR/LG:Kadabra LV.38, Mr.Mime LV.37,Venomoth LV.38, Alakazam LV.43. Venomoth will fall to Fire and the other Pokemon will faint against Scyther's bug attacks. Yellow: Abra LV.50, Kadabra LV.50, Alakazam LV.50. Sabrina has a .... different team than before. Jolteon will use Pin Missle to take these Pokemon down.

7.Blaine from Cinnibar Island: Red/Blue,FR/LG: Growlithe LV.42, Ponyta LV.50, Rapidash LV.42, Arcainine LV.47. Use Golem,Lapras, or Blastoise to dominate over this pathetic team. Yellow: Ninetales LV.48, Rapidsh LV.50, Arcainine LV. 54. With Blastouis on your team, these Pokemon should go down. Use your fossil Pokemon if you need help.

8.Giovani from Viridian City: Red/Blue,FR/LG: Ryhorn LV.45, Dugtrio LV.42, Nidoqueen LV.43, Nidoking LV.45, Ryhorn LV.50. Well, water and ice Pokemon like Lapras will take down all the Pokemon, and grass Pokemon like Vileplume can beat Ryhorn and Dugtrio. Yellow: Persian LV.53, Dugtrio LV.50, Nidoqueen LV.53, Nidoking LV.55, Rydon LV.55. Blastoise and a fighting type like Machamp will work wonders.

Gym Leaders for Silver/Gold, and Crystal:
Johto:
1. Falkner from Violet City: G/S/C: Pidgey LV.7, Pidgeotto LV.9. A boy in Violet city will trade you an Onix for a Bellsprout and you can get a Geodude from Darkness Cave. Since there hasn't been a chance to get any Electric Pokemon, Rock is your best bet.

2.Bugsy from Azeala Town: G/S/C/: Metapod Lv.14, Kaluna LV.14, Scyther Lv. 16. If you picked Cyndaquil, you are in luck!!!!! It's Fire attacks will be very useful. Other types, such as Flying( Pidgey, Spearow) and Rock (because it has a type resistance) will also be useful.

3.Whitney from Goldenrod City: G/S/C: Clefairy Lv.18, Miltank Lv.20. You can get a Machop from a guy in the Department store for a Drowzee. It's Fighting attacks will rock here! Once again, Rock Pokemon, like Geodude and Onix, will be good here because they have a type resistance.

4.Morty from Ecruteak City: G/S/C: Gastly LV.21, Haunter LV.21, Gengar LV.25, Haunter LV.23. Since all of Morty's Pokemon are half Poison, a Psychic Pokemon like Kadabra or Drowzee will come in handy here. Also, you can get a Normal type Pokemon like Furret, teach it a non-Normal attack like Surf, and use it against Morty's Ghost army. Since the Normal Pokemon is a Normal type, only Curse will affect it and since it knows an attack like Surf, it will be able to dish out major damage!!!!

5.Chuck from Cianwood City: G/S/C: Primape LV.27, Poliwrath LV. 30. Flying Pokemon like Pidgotto or Fearow will do well here and Psychic Pokemon like Alakazam are also playable. Poliwrath can be EXTREMELY difficult if it uses its Mind Reader/ Dynamic Punch combo, so take it out as quickly as possible.

6.Jasmine from Olivine City: G/S/C: Magnemite LV.30, Magnemite LV.30, Steelix LV. 35. For the Magnemites, use Ground type moves such as Dig and Magnitude. Steelix is the real threat here. A Fire type like Typhlosion or Magmar is good, or you can use Ground moves with a Pokemon like Sandslash. Also, Fighting moves like Low Kick from Machoke are quite effective.

7.Pryce from Mahogany Town: G/S/C: Seel LV.27, Dewgong Lv.29, Piloswine LV.31. Even though Pryce is the 7th Gym Leader, he has weaker Pokemon than Jasmine so this battle shouldn't be too difficult. Anyways, Seel is pure Water and Dewgong is half Water, half Ice, so a Grass Pokemon like Meganium or Vileplume or an Electric Pokemon like Ampharos or Electrode will be excellent. Piloswine is harder. It is half Ground, so Fire Pokemon won't be doing much here. Instead, use Fighting or Grass to win. Pokemon like Machamp and Meganium or Vileplume are recommended.

8.Clair from Blackthorne City: G/S/C: Dragonair LV.37, Dragonair LV.37, Dragonair Lv.37, Kingdra Lv.40. The three Dragonairs can be beaten with Lapras' Ice Beam or Feraligatr's Ice Punch. Now, for Kingdra..... If you have Lapras, use Confuse Ray followed up with Body Slam. If that doesn't work, or you don't have Lapras, Use solid attacks like Take Down to win. You might have to just wear down Kingdra with your (hopefully) six Pokemon.
Kanto:
1.Brock from Pewter City: G/S/C: Graveler LV.41, Omastar Lv.42, Rhyhorn Lv.41, Onix, LV.44, Kabutops, LV.42. A single good Grass Pokemon like Meganium or Sunflora will work well here, but you may want to use a mixture of Water and Electric (like Lanturn) to defeat Omastar and Kabutops.

2.Misty from Cerulean City: G/S/C: Golduck LV.42, Quagsire LV.42, Lapras LV.44, Starmie Lv.47. By now, you should have plenty of ways to deal with Water Pokemon. Zap 'em with Electrics like Ampharos, Grass 'em with Grass Pokemon like Sunflora, or both. You can't use an Electric Polkemon against half Ground Quagsire, so use Grass. Defeat Starmie as quickly as possible, for it can use Recover.

3.Lt. Surge from Vermillion City: G/S/C: Raichu LV.44, Electrode LV.40, Electabuzz LV.46, Electrode LV.40, Magneton LV.40. For Silver players, Donphan is great here. Other Ground Pokemon like Dugtrio and Sandslash are also effective. Rock Pokemon like Onix and Golem are a good choice but if you don't have these types don't worry because most of these Pokemon use Normal type attacks.

4.Erica from Celadon City: G/S/C: Tangela LV.42, Bellossom LV.46, Jumpluff LV.41, Victreebell LV.46. Fire Pokemon like Typhlosion and Macargo are good Pokemon to use here and Flying and Bug also work well. Also try Psychic and Poison Pokemon. Pidgeot, Scyther, Alakazam, and Weezing are good Pokemon. At this level, these Grass Pokemon shouldn't be too difficult.

5.Janine from Fuchsia City: G/S/C: Crobat LV.36, Weezing LV.36, Weezing LV.36, Ariados LV.33, Venomoth LV.39. A good Psychic Pokemon like Alakazam or Mr.Mime can take all of these Pokemom down, but you may want to use Fire, like Typhlosion or Houndoom, to beat Ariados and Venomoth.

6.Sabrina from Saffron City: G/S/C: Espeon LV.46, Mr.Mime LV.46, Alakazam LV.48. You have two choices here: wear Sabrina down with your best Pokemon, for she only has three, or use Dark Pokemon like Houndoom, Umbreon, and Murkrow, to destroy your foes.

7.Blaine from Cinnabar Island: G/S/C: Macargo LV.45, Rapidash LV.50, Magmar LV.45. Bring some Water Pokemon (like Feraligatr, Gyarados, and Kingdra) and put Blaine out of his misery.

8. Blue from Viridian City: G/S/C: Pidgeot LV.56, Rhydon LV.56, Alakazam LV.54, Gyarados LV.58, Arcanine LV.58, Exeggutor LV.58. Use an Electric Pokemon like Electrode or Raichu for Pidgeot, a Water Pokemon like Gyarados or a Grass Pokemon like Vileplume for Rhydon, a Dark Pokemon like Umbreon or Houndoom for Alakazam, an Electric Pokemon like the ones suggested for Pidgeot for Gyarados, a Water Pokemon like the one suggested for Rhydon or a Rock Pokemon like Golem for Arcanine, and, finally, a Fire Pokemon like Typhlosion or Magmar for Exeggutor.

Gym Leaders for Ruby/Sapphire, and Emerald.

1.Roxanne from Rustboro City: R/S: Geodude LV.14, Nosepass LV. 15. E: Geodude LV.12, Geodude LV.12, Nosepass LV.15. Treeko or Mudkip will be good here, and if you evolve Torchic into Combusken, it will learn Fighting type attacks, but you may want to also use Wingull, Seedot, or Lotad. At this point, any Grass or Water Pokemon will do.

2.Brawly from Dewford Town: R/S: Machop LV.17, Makuhita LV.18. E: Machop, LV.16, Meditite LV.16, Makuhita LV.19. Flying Pokemon like Tailow and Wingull will excell here and Psychic Pokemon like Kadabra will work too but don't use Kadabra against Meditite because it is half Psychic.

3.Wattson from Mauville City: R/S: Magnemite LV.22, Voltorb LV.20, Magneton LV.23. E: Voltorb LV.20, Electrike LV.20, Magneton LV.22, Manectric LV.24. If you have a Fighting Pokemon like Combusken, use its Fighting attacks against Voltorb and Magneton. Marshtomp learns Mud Shot, so the Ground attack should prove invaluble. Also try Combusken's Fire type attacks. If Wattson gives you trouble, you can also use rock Pokemon like Geodude.

4.Flannery from Lavaridge Town: R/S: Slugma LV.26, Torkoal LV.28. E: Numel LV. 24, Camerupt LV.26, Slugma LV.24, Torkoal LV.29: Marshtomp is great here because it can use Water attacks and Ground attacks. If you don't have Marshtomp, Graveler, Pelliper, and Lombre are good choices.

5.Norman from Petalburg City: R/S: Slaking LV.28, Vigoroth LV.30, Slaking LV.31. E: Spinda LV.27, Vigoroth LV.27, Linoone LV.29, Slaking LV.31. Combusken or Blaziken will be good here if you use Fighting attacks. Also try Rock Pokemon like Golem, because they will have a type resitance. Ghost Pokemon , like Gengar(you will have to trade to get any Ghost Pokemon at this point), will be good also because Normal type Pokemon cannot affect it with Normal attacks.

6.Winona from Fortree City: R/S: Swellow LV.31, Skarmory LV.32, Peliper LV.30, Altaria LV.33. E: Swablu LV.29, Tropius LV.29, Peliper LV.30, Skarmory LV.31, Altaria LV.33. Flying type Pokemon are weak at this point, but not against Winona. So, use Rock Pokemon like Golem, Electric Pokemon like Manectric and Electrode, and Ice/Water Pokemon (or Pokemon that know Ice type attcks) like Swampert and Gyardos to win. You may want to counter Altaria with your Altaria if you have one.

7.Liza and Tate from Mossdeep City: R/S: Lunatone Lv.42, Solrock LV.42. E: Claydol LV.41, Xatu LV.41, Lunatone LV.42, Slorock LV.42. For Xatu, Electric is the best way to go. Zap the Psychic/Flying Pokemon from the skies with Electrode and Manectric. Claydol, Solrock, and Lunatone will all fall to Water Pokemon like Wailord and Gyarados, or Dark Pokemon like Absol and Mightyena.

8.Wallace from Sootopolis City: R/S: Luvdisc LV.40, Whiscash Lv.42, Sealeo LV.40, Seaking LV.42, Milotic LV.43. Juan from Sootopolis City: E: Luvdisc LV.41, Whiscash LV.41, Sealeo LV.43, Crawdaunt LV.43, Kingdra LV.46. Electric Pokemon like Manectric and Electrode or Grass Pokemon like Vileplume or Tropius should be used against Luvdisc, Seaking, Sealeo, Milotic, and Whiscash, with Grass ONLY being used for the Whiscash. As for Kingdra, You will just want to use your remaining Pokemon to overpower it.

Elite 4 Guides

Elite 4 for Red/Blue, Yellow, FireRed/LeafGreen:

1.Lorelei: Red/Blue,FR/LG: Dewgong LV.54, Cloyster LV.53, Slobro LV.54, Jynx LV.56, Lapras LV.56. Pokemon like Jolteon and Raichu will do good here and fire types will also be effective. Watch out for Lapras as it won't go down easy! Yellow: Dewgong LV.54, Cloyster LV.53, Slowbro LV. 54, Jynx LV.56, Lapras LV.58. These Pokemon can be tough. Use Charizard for Jynx and Pikachu for the rest. A nice Fighting type can also win against the Ice Pokemon.

2.Bruno: Red/Blue,FR/LG: Onix LV.53, Hitmonchan LV.55, Hitmonlee LV.55, Onix LV.56, Machamp LV.58. The Pokemon of Bruno will fall to Blastoise or Lapras and Alakazam. Yellow: Onix LV.53, Hitmonchan LV.55, Hitmonlee LV. 55, Onix LV.56, Machamp LV.58. Just use Blastoise and Alakazam to destroy these Pokemon.

3.Agatha: Red/Blue,FR/:LG: Gengar LV.56, Golbat LV.56, Haunter LV.55, Arbok, LV.58, Gengar LV.60. Alakazam is again a good Pokemon to use. Keep Venasaur {if you have it } away from this battle! Yellow: Gengar LV.56, Golbat LV.55, Haunter LV. 55, Arbok LV.58, Gengar LV.60. Blastoise can use Ice Beam to beat Golbat and just use Earthquake or Alakazam {no, really? } to win.

4.Lance: Red/Blue,FR/LG:Gyarados LV.58, Dragonair LV.56, Dragonair LV.56, Aerodactyl LV.60, Dragonite LV.62. If you chose Blastoise, you are lucky. If not, get a Lapras and use Blizzard or Ice Beam. Aerodactyl and Gyarados can be beaten with Electric. Yellow: Gyarados LV.58, Dragonair LV.56, Dragonair LV56, Aerodactyl LV.60, Dragonite Lv.62. Use Blastoise to beat the dragons and Pikachu for the other Pokemon.
One more...

5.Gary: Red/Blue,FR/LG: The first half will always be: Pidgeot LV.61, Alakazam LV.59, Rhydon LV.61. The second half depends on your starter: Charmander: Exeggutor LV.61, Gyarados LV.53, Blastoise LV.55. Squirtle: Arcanine LV.61, Exeggutor Lv.63, Venasaur Lv.65. Bulbasaur: Gyarados Lv.61, Arcanine LV.63, Charizard Lv.65. Well, Pidgeot will go down to Raichu or Jolteon. Alakazam will faint against Scyther or Jolteon { with Pin Missle }. Rhydon will lose against Lapras or Blastoise. Exeggutor will be defeated with Charizard, Ninetales, or Arcanine. Gyarados will be pulverized against your Electric that beat Pidgeot and Arcanine will be down for the count against Blastoise or Lapras. Congratulations, you are the Pokemon League Champion! Yellow: Sandslash LV.61, Alakazam LV.59, Exeggutor LV.61, Magneton Lv.61, Cloyster Lv.63, Vaporeon, Flareon, or Jolteon LV.65. Well, use Blastoise VS. Sandslash, Scyther against Alakazam, Charizard against Exeggutor, Charizard against Magneton, and: Pikachu or Venasaur V.S. Vaporeon, Blastoise V.S. Flareon, and Venasaur V.S. Jolteon. Congratulations, you are the Pokemon League Champion!
Elite4 Guide for Gold/Silver, and Crystal.

1.Will: G/S/C: Xatu LV.40, Exeggutor LV.41, Slowbro LV.41, Jynx LV.41, Xatu LV.42. All of Will's Pokemon are part Psychic, but that doesn't mean anything. Both Xatus will go down with Electric Pokemon like Electrode or Jolteon, Slowbro will also go down with Electric, and a Fire Pokemon like Typhlosion or Magmar will fry Jynx. Defeating Will is all about using the right Pokemon at the right time.

2.Koga: G/S/C: Ariados LV.40, Forretress LV.43, Muk LV.42, Venomoth LV.41, Crobat LV.44. Fire is great for roasting Ariados and Forretress. Use Typhlosion, Magmar, or Rapidash. Alakazam or Espeon will make short work of the other three Pokemon. Koga is quite simple if you use type match-up.

3.Bruno: G/S/C: Hitmontop LV.42, Hitmonlee LV.42, Hitmonchan LV.42, Onix LV.43, Machamp LV.46. A Psychic Pokemon like Alakazam will be excellent against all of Bruno's Pokemon except Onix. Use a Grass Pokemon like Vileplume or a Water Pokemon like Lapras to wash it away.

4.Karen: G/S/C: Umbreon LV. 42, Vileplume LV.42, Gengar LV.45, Murkrow LV.44, Houndoom LV.47. Many of these Pokemon can be tricky. Use a Fighting Pokemon like Machamp or a Bug Pokemon like Herracross to defeat Umbreon. Vileplume will fall to a Fire Pokemon like Magmar or a Flying Pokemon like Fearow. Gengar will be beaten with Alakazam. Murkrow will fall from the sky with a Rock Pokemon like Onix or an Electric type like Electrode. Finally, use a Water Pokemon like Feraligatr or Gyarados against Houndoom.

One More....

5.Lance: G/S/C: Gyarados LV.44, Dragonite LV.47, Charizard LV.46, Dragonite LV.47, Aerodactyl LV.46, Dragonite LV.50. These Pokemon are tough! Use a good Ice Pokemon against all three Dragonites, and if your Ice type ( like Lapras, Cloyster, or Dewgong) has a good Water attack, it can take down the Charizard and Aerodactyl. For Gyarados, use an Electric Pokemon like the ever handy Electrode. Congratulations, you are now the Pokemon League Champion!

Elite4 for Ruby/Sapphire and Emerald:

1.Sidney: R/S: Mightyena LV. 46, Shiftry LV.48, Cacturne LV.48, Sharpedo LV.48, Absol LV.49. E: Mightyena LV. 46, Shiftry LV.48, Cacturne LV.48, Crawdaunt LV.48, Absol LV.49. A good Fighting Pokemon like Blaziken or Haryjama can defeat all of Sidney's Pokemon, and a Fire Pokemon like Blaziken or Camerupt can take Cacturne and Shiftry. Sharpedo will fall to Electric Pokemon like Manectric or Electrode. If you do use Fighting, you must watch out for Shiftry and Absol, because they know Flying and Psychic type attacks.

2.Phoebe: R/S: Dusclops LV.48, Banette LV.48, Banette LV.49, Sableye LV.50, Dusclops LV.51. E: Dusclops LV.48, Banette LV.49, Sableye LV.50, Banette LV.49, Dusclops LV.51. A good Dark type Pokemon like Sableye can beat all of Phoebe's Pokemon but try using Steel type Pokemon like Skarmory because they will have a good defense. Defeating Phoebe can be very difficult!!!!!

3.Glacia: R/S: Glalie LV, Sealeo LV.50, Sealeo LV.52, Glalie LV.52, Walrein LV.53. E: Glalie LV.50, Sealeo LV.50, Sealeo LV.52, Galie LV.52, Walrein LV.52. Both Glalies will fall to Fire Pokemon like Blaziken, Camerupt, and Torkoal. The other Pokemon can be taken out with Electric Pokemon like Manectric or Electrode. Since all of Glacia's Pokemon are at least half Ice, a good Fighting Pokemon like Medicham or Hariyama can work well too.

4.Drake: R/S: Shelgon LV.53, Flygon LV.53, Flygon LV.53, Altaria LV.54, Salamence LV.55. E: Shelgon LV.52, Altaria LV.54, Kingdra LV.53, Flygon LV.53, Salamence LV.55. You will need Ice Pokemon. Lots of Ice Pokemon. Use Glalie and Kingra, Pokemon that can put Ice type attacks to good use, for Shelgon and Flygon. Altaria will be beaten with Electric type Pokemon, like (can you guedd which?) Manectric and Electrode. Kingdra will need to be beaten with really powerful attacks like Double Edge and Hyper Beam, and watch out for Salamence!!! Use Pokemon that know Ice type attacks but do NOT deliver them with Ice Pokemon for Salamence knows Flamethrower!!!!!!

One more.....

5.Steven: R/S: Skarmory LV.57, Armaldo LV.56, Metagross LV.58, Cradily LV.56, Claydol LV.55, Aggron LV.56. Wallace: E: Wailord LV.57, Ludicolo LV.56, Gyarados LV.56, Tentacruel LV.55, Whiscash LV. 56, Milotic LV.58. For Steven, use an Electric Pokemon like, I'm not even going to say it, and for Metagross and Aggron, use a Fire Pokemon like Blaziken or Camerupt. Water Pokemon like Swampert and Crawdaunt will work against Claydol, and use Grass Pokemon for Armaldo and Cradily. Try using Vileplume or Cacturne. E: For Wallace, a pure Grass Pokemon, like Sceptile or Bellossom, will work wonders against Wailord, Whiscash, and Milotic. Also, for Milotic and Wailord, and Gyarados, use an Electric Pokemon like Manectric or Electrode. Ludicolo will faint against Flying Pokemon like Swellow or Skarmory, and, finally, Tentacruel can be beaten with Psychic Pokemon like Alakazam or Gardevoir.

Congratulations, you are now the Pokemon League Champion!!!!!!!

Rivals

The rival in R/B/Y:

1. R/B: Your rival's starter Pokemon depends on yours. His Pokemon will be the one that can inflict supe effective damage to yours (for example, if you chose Bulbasaur, your rival would choose Charmander). In this battle, use your attack that inflicts damage, and use your potion if necessary. Y: Eevee LV. 5. Use your Pikachu's Thundershock and use your potion if nesscessary.

2. R/B: Pidgey LV. 9, Starter ( first form) LV. 9. If you have a Pikachu, use it on Pidgey and Squirtle. For Charmander, use any Pokemon you have besides Bulbasaur. For Bulbasaur, use a Pidgey if it knows a Flying type attack. Y: Spearow LV. 9, Eevee LV. 10. Pikachu's Thundershock should work for Spearow and catch a Manky, for its Fighting Type Attacks will be Super-Effective against Eevee.

3. R/B: Pidgeotto LV. 18, Abra LV. 15, Rattata LV. 15, Starter (first form) LV. 18. Try a Geodude or Pikachu for Pidgeotto and Squirtle, Geodude for Charmander and Rattata, Manky on Rattata, any Pokemon for Abra, and a Flying Pokemon like Pidgeotto or Spearow for Bulbasaur.Y: Spearow LV. 18, Abra LV. 15, Rattata LV. 15, Eevee LV. 17. Your Pikachu should make quick work of his Spearow. Any Pokemon can beat Abra, because it only knows Teleport. If you have a Manky, it will be useful for the remaining Pokemon, but if not, a Geodude from Mt. Moon will work because it will have a Type-Resistance.

4. R/B: Pidgeotto LV. 19, Kadabra LV. 18, Raticate LV. 16, Starter ( second form) LV. 20. Use Electric Pokemon like Pikachu or Rock Pokemon like Geodude for Pidgeotto, a Fighting Pokemon like Manky for Raticate, Rock or Ground Pokemon like Geodude or Diglett for Charmeleon, Electric or Grass Pokemon like Pikachu or Oddish/Bellsprout for Wartortle, Flying Pokemon like Pidgeotto or Spearow for Ivysaur, and a Pokemon with a high Special Defense and good Attack for Kadabra. Y: Spearow LV. 19, Rattata LV. 16, Sandshrew LV. 16, Eevee LV. 20. Again, Pikachu should be used for Spearow, or Geodude. Grass Pokemon like your Bulbasaur or Oddish will work against Sandshrew. Use your Fighting Pokemon, (if you have one), like Manky, for his two Normal Pokemon.

5. R/B: Pidgeotto LV. 25, Kadabra LV. 20, and..... If you had Bulbasaur: Charmeleon LV. 25, Exeggcute LV. 23, and Gyarados LV. 22. If you had Charmander: Wartortle LV. 25, Growlithe LV. 23, and Exeggcute LV. 22. If you had Squirtle: Ivysaur LV. 25, Gyarados LV. 23, Growlithe LV. 22. Take down Gyarados and Pidgeotto with Electric Pokemon like Pikachu and Voltorb and Rock Pokemon for Pidgeotto like Graveler and Onix. For Exeggcute and Ivysaur, try Flying Pokemon like Pidgeotto or Fearow. For Kadabra, continue the strategy of using a Pokemon with a good Attack. For Charmeleon and Growlithe, use a Rock Pokemon like the ones already suggested, or a Ground Pokemon like Dugtrio. Finally, for Wartortle, use a Grass Pokemon like Gloom or Weepinbell. Y: Your rival's Pokemon differentiate depending on how many battles you have won or lost against him. If you see Vulpix and Shellder, he has a Jolteon. If you see Magnemite and Shellder, he has a Flareon. If you see Magnemite and Vulpix, he has a Vapereon. Here are his teams: Team 1: Fearow LV. 25, Shellder LV. 23, Vulpix LV. 22, Sandshrew LV. 20, Jolteon LV. 25. Team 2: Fearow LV. 25, Shellder LV. 23, Magnemite LV. 22, Sandshrew LV. 20, Flareon LV. 25. Team 3: Fearow LV. 25, Magnemite LV. 23, Vulpix LV> 22, Sandshrew LV. 20, Vaporeon LV. 25. Your Pikachu will win against the Fearow, Vaporeon, and Shellder. Use your Wartortle for Vulpix, Flareon, and Sandshrew. Use a Ground Pokemon like Diglett or Sandshrew for Jolteon and Magnemite.

6. R/B: Pidgeot LV. 37, Alakazam LV. 36, and...... If you had Bulbasaur: Charizard LV. 40, Exeggcute LV. 38, and Gyarados LV. 35. If you had Charmander: Blastoise LV. 40, Growlithe LV. 38, Exeggcute LV. 35. If you had Squirtle: Venasaur LV. 40, Gyarados LV. 38, Growlithe LV. 35. Rock Pokemon like Golem and Onix are excellent for Pidgeot (also try Electric Pokemon like Raichu and Jolteon), Growlithe (Ground Pokemon like Sandslash and Dugtrio also work), and Charizard (you might also want to use the Electric Pokemon suggested or Water Pokemon like Cloyster and Lapras). A strong Pokemon or a Bug Pokemon like Scyther should be used for Alakazam. Exeggcute and Venasaur can be taken down with Flying Pokemon like Pidgeot or Fearow, Fire Pokemon like Arcanine or Charizard, and a Psychic Pokemon like Alakazam or Mr.Mime for Venasaur respectively. Gyarados falls to the Electric Pokemon already suggested, and Blastoise falls to Grass Pokemon like Vileplume or Victreebell. Y: Team 1: Sandslash LV. 38, Kadabra LV. 35, Cloyster LV. 37, Ninetails LV. 35, Jolteon LV. 40. Team 2: Sandslash LV. 38, Kadabra LV. 35, Cloyster LV. 37, Magnaton LV. 35, Flareon LV. 40. Team 3: Sandslash LV. 38, Kadabra LV. 35, Cloyster LV. 35, Ninetails LV. 37, Vaporeon LV. 40. Use your Blastoise for Sandslash, Ninetails, and Flareon. Use your Pikachu or Venasaur for Cloyster and Vaporeon. Use your Charizard for Magneton. Finally, use a Ground Pokemon like Sandslash or Dugtrio for Jolteon. Finally, use your strongest Pokemon for Alakazam.

7. R/B: Pidgeot LV. 47, Alakazam LV. 47, Rhyhorn LV. 45, and................. If you had Bulbasaur: Charizard LV. 53, Exeggcute LV. 45, Gyarados LV. 45. If you had Charmander: Blastoise LV. 53, Growlithe LV. 45, Exeggcute LV. 45. If you had Squirtle: Venasaur LV. 53, Gyarados LV. 45, Growlithe LV. 45. The same strategy that you used for the sixth rival battle work here. For Rhyhorn, use Grass Pokemon like Vileplume or Victreebell, or Water Pokemon like Dewgong or Lapras. Y: Team 1: Sandslash LV. 47, Alakazam LV. 50, Exeggcute LV. 45, Cloyster LV. 47, Ninetails LV. 45, Jolteon LV. 53. Team 2: Sandslash LV. 47, Alakazam LV. 50, Exeggcute LV. 45, Cloyster LV. 47, Magneton LV. 45, Flareon LV. 53. Team 3: Sandslash LV. 47, Alakazam LV. 50, Exeggcute LV. 45, Cloyster LV. 45, Ninetails LV. 47, Vaporeon LV. 53. Use your Blastoise for Sandslash, Ninetails, and Flareon. Use your Charizard for Exeggcute. Use your Venasaur for Cloyster and Vaporeon. A Ground Pokemon like Sandslash or Dugtrio will win against Magnemite. Use your best Pokemon, which is probably Pikachu, for Alakazam.

8. R/B, Y: Check the Elite4 guide.

The rival in G/S/C:

1. G/S/C: Your rival's starter depends on your own. His first Pokemon will always be the one that can inflict super effective damage to yours. For example, if you have Cindaquil, he will always have Totadile. Use your physical attack to win easily.

2. G/S/C: Gastly LV. 12, Zubat LV. 14, Starter LV. 16. For Gasly, use an attack that isn't Fighting Type or Normal Type. Any other Type of Attack will do. Use a Mareep against Zubat, for its Electric attacks will be super effective. Mareep works well for Crokonaw (if your rival has one), Goldeen or Onix, which are Water and Rock/Ground, will be good against Quilava, and a Flying Pokemon like Pidgey will be excellent against Chikorita.

3. G/S/C: Haunter LV. 20, Magnemite LV. 18, Zubat LV. 20, Starter LV. 22. Use the same approach you used last time, with a strong attack for Haunter, an Electric Type Attack like Flaafy's for Zubat, and a Type matching attack for the Starter, like Magmar or Pidgeotto for Bayleef, Goldeen or Onix for Quilava, and Flaafy or Weepinbell for Crokonaw. Take down Magnemite with a Fire Type Attack from a Pokemon like Quilava or Magmar.

4. G/S/C: Golbat LV. 30, Starter LV. 32, Magnemite LV. 28, Haunter LV. 30, Sneasel LV. 32. By now, you should have multiple ways to deal with your rival. Electric Pokemon like Ampharos are good against Golbat and Feraligatr. Use Fire Type Attacks like a strike from Magmar or Typlosion for Magnemite, Meganium, and Sneasel. A good Water Type Attack from Feraligatr or Gyarados is good against Quilava and Haunter.

5. G/S/C: Sneasel LV. 32, Starter LV. 38, Magneton LV. 35, Golbat LV. 36, Haunter LV. 35, Kadabra LV. 35. Use Fire Type Attacks from Magmar, Typhlosion, or Rapidash on Magneton, Sneasel, and Meganium. Use your Electric Pokemon, like Ampharos, for Golbat and Feraligatr. For Typhlosion, use a Water Type Attack from Feraligatr or Gyarados. For Haunter and Kadabra, use all the Pokemon you have left, just remember not to use Fighting Type Pokemon or Normal Type Pokemon! Try Dark, like Houndoom or Umbreon.

6. G/S/C: Sneasel LV. 41, Starter LV. 45, Magneton LV. 41, Golbat LV. 42, Gengar LV. 43, Alakazam LV. 43. The final showdown with your rival.....But it will be one of your easiest. Use the same strategy like in number 5, and you will win with ease.
