sound? That’s how much the ultra-rare Tropical Mega Battle No. 1
Trainer tournament card was sold for in a Japanese auction earlier
this week. And it was purchased by none other than our good friends at
Pocketmonsters.com. “We were shocked to discover this card being
sold through an online auction,” said Glenn Kardy, whose toy store
in Japan operates the Pocketmonsters.com website. “Cards of this
caliber are usually only available through private sales conducted by
an elite group of Japanese collectors. We jumped at the chance to get
this precious item.” There are only nine Tropical Mega Battle No. 1
Trainer cards in existence, each having been awarded to the regional
winners of the summer 1999 tournament in Japan.
