| The BMW 3-series convertible will go on sale in the U.S. in March, initially as a 323Ci powered by th 170- hp, 2.5 liter in-line six-cylinder engine. Expect a larger six-cylinder to become available in the fall. Like those of Audi, Volvo, and Mercedes, the new BMW ragtop has rollover bars that pop up from the rear head restraints when the car's stability system sense and emergency. BMW says its new roof design improves noise insulation, visibility, and luggage space. Even on the base model, the rear window is glass with a defroster element. |
