After collecting all 16 Badges fly back to Pallet Town. Find Professor Oak and talk to him. He tell you to go to Shirogane Mountain. Fly to Viridian City, head west, and enter the house. The two men that blocked the way are gone. Go along the west one. And you are now in Shirogane Mountain! Walk through those grassy areas and eventually you will find the cave. Okay, it's now time for the last battle. Make sure that your pokemon is at Lv.70 to about Lv.80 or you will probably lose. It is advisable to let at least a pokemon in your team to learn Hyper Beam as Snorlax is quite hard to defeat and it is fond to use Amnesia. Enter the cave and have a short walk. Then cross the bridge and who is standing there... It's Ash Ketchum! His pokemons are now stronger than ever. He uses
Pikachu Lv.81
Blastoise Lv.77
Eifi Lv.75
Snorlax Lv.75
Charizard Lv.77
Venusaur Lv.77
Well, good luck on your journey
The Legendary Birds
Houou
In the Gold Version, the Phoenix, Houou is available at Lv40. In the Silver Version, its at Lv. 70. In the Gold Version, To catch it, you must first defeat the 8 gyms. Then go to Enjiu city and enter the north-most house. It would lead to Suzu tower. The entrance that was previously blocked by a monk is now gone. Enter and keep going upstairs and you will eventually find Houou! Use the Master Ball to capture it (or if you can, use other balls). It's at Lv.40 when you capture it. To get Solar stone, see next section.
How to win in the Bug Catching Contest
The basis of winning the Bug catching contest is the rarity and the level of the pokemon. Here is the
Hierarchy of bugs:
Scyther - you'll probably win a Solar Stone with this one
Pinsir
Butterfree
Beedrill
Venonat
Metapod
Kakuna
Caterpie
Weedle - you'll probably going to get a nut.
If you win first place, the man there would give you a solar stone, which will evolve gloom into kireihana (Looks like a lady dressed in flower), and Himanuts to Kimawari(Sunflower). Second price is a de-evolution stone which will prevent your pokemon from evolving when it is equipped with it. The third price is a special nut which has a greater healing power.
When does Eevee evolve?
Well, ther have been many rumors that Eevee evolves when it is happy enough, but this is just plain wrong. Eevee evolves when a certain stat quota has been reached. It is basically defined by this equation:
Q = 5 * L ^ (2 / 3)
where Q = Stat quota
L = Eevee's Level
If Eevee reaches this quota by day, he evolves into an Eifi. by night, it turns into a Blacky.
How to erase HM's and TM's
Well, on the past versions of Pokemon, you cannot erase HM's or TM's. But in this version you can! There is a man on Fusube City. He will ask you which pokemon would he erase the TM. Then he would ask you which move to erase. Then Poof! The HM or TM is gone. This is very useful for a pokemon that had Flash, or other worthless HM's like Whirpool Tide.
