Only Way to Get Mew
We've seen so many fake Mew codes pop up on the web (and we get about 20 new fake Mew code submissions A DAY) that we've decided to add this following disclaimer to our codes section:

According to Nintendo, Mew cannot be found or caught in Pokemon Yellow, Red, or Blue. Outside of a GameShark code (which may mess up your Pokedex and render the game incompatible with Pokemon Stadium), the #151st Pokemon remains a cool litte extra that is only handed out by Nintendo on special occasions, such as Mall Tours or Pokemon events.

However, all those who want to catch a glimpse of the rare Pokemon can select Mew as a rental Pokemon in Pokemon Stadium for Nintendo 64 (but you cannot upload it to your Game Boy game). Note that Mew is just that -- a bonus Pokemon (albeit a very cool one that can learn all TMs) -- and not technically required to complete your Pokedex.

Get Raichu
To get Raichu, trade the Pikachu you started with to a Red/Blue version after It gets to be about Lv. 50-60. Then use a Thunderstone on the Pikachu you traded. After it evolves, trade it back to Pokemon Yellow. Now you will have Raichu. Be careful, though. Pikachu will no longer follow you around if you do this. You may be much better off just trading a Pikachu caught in Red/Blue and evolving that one.

Get Amnesia Psyduck
Have you ever wondered how you can get the elusive Amnesia technique? Well, it's hidden deep in Pokemon Stadium for the Nintendo 64. Unlocking it will take a while, but it's definitely worth it. You have to register ALL 151 Pokemon in the Hall of Fame. Whenever you beat a tournament (or Gym Leader Castle), your six Pokemon are entered into the Hall of Fame. It doesn't matter whether you use rental Pokemon or your own, but you can't have any gaps. Once you've filled it all up, you are awarded a free Psyduck bonus Pokemon that knows the Amnesia technique. You can now upload it to your Game Boy pak and use it in your quest.

Cheap Potions
When you reach Celadon City, go to the top (6th) floor of the Poke Mart and press A next to the machines and chose Lemonade. Lemonade replenishes 80 HP on a Pokemon, and it only costs 350 -- wich is a lot less than Hyper Potion.

Clone Pokemon
Ok they had to make it where you could do this on Yellow too!
1. Hook 2 gameboys together
2.One person must have a strong or rare pokemon, and the other person must have a weak and common one.
3. Trade
4. When the trade is almost over it will say waiting.
5.The person who had the rare pokemon 1st turns their GB off, and the other game lets theirs say TRADE COMPLETE.
6. When you turn yur gameboys back on you should both have the rare or strong pokemon.

Catch Tauros at Safari zone

To catch Tauros at the Safari Zone is you have to be in the zones 2 or 3 walk in the grass and if you see a Tauros hold up and A tight. It might not work the first time but try it every time maybe by the time you get 27
S. balls you will get a Tauros.

Machamp

First get a cubone. Then go back to cerulean city and go to the under ground tunnel and talk to the lady and then she will ask you if you want to trade a cubone for a machamp.

Get Bulbasaur
After you get Squirtle, go to Cerulean city, and in one of the houses there is a lady, who has Pokemon next to her. Talk to her and she will ask you a question. Choose the top answer and she will ask you another question. Choose the top answer again and you get Bulbasaur!

Get Charmander
There are several ways to snag Charmander. On way is to travel to Ceruleon City, and talk with the man on the other side of Nugget Bridge. The other way is to beat SS. St. Anne to port and speak to Officer Jenny.
Submitted by Dave Sheaffer and Justin

Get Squirtle
After getting off the S.S. Anne, and getting the Thunderbadge from the gymleader, Lt. Surge, then you can get Squirtle from Officer Jenny in the middle of town.

*****surfing pikachu*****

Pikachu's Beach is what the little mini-game is called that can only be accessed by a Pikachu with Surf in the house directly south of the Fuchsia City PokéCenter. The Pikachu you start with cannot learn Surf so you may ask, "How the heck do I get a Surfing Pikachu?!?"
The only two ways you can do it now is by entering Nintendo Power's contest for Surfing Pikachu, or by using a game-enhancing device like Gameshark.

The third way cannot be achieved yet because it requires Pokémon Stadium. And since that hasn't been released yet, the Surfing Pikachu you can earn on that game cannot be transferred to your Gameboy.

So, cheaters, you want to know how to get a Surfing Pikachu with Gameshark? Well, before you begin messing around with your game, Gameshark codes always have the possibility to erase your game, so be careful. First for this to work you will have to sacrifice your Pikachu for the sake of playing Pikachu's Beach. The only thing that will happen is that Surf will overwrite one of your previous learned moves. Move your Pikachu to the first position and enter this code:

013973D1

If you don't want to sacrafice Pikachu then get a put a Pokémon you don't really care about changing to a Pikachu in the first slot. Then enter the following codes to get a Surfing Pikachu:

015463D1
013973D1

Now your Pikachu will have Surf and you'll be able to Surf on Pikachu's Beach!

So what is Pikachu's Beach like? Well all you do is push left or right when going over the waves to do flips in the air. If you don't wipe out when you hit the water you'll get 50 points for one flip and 150 points for two, and 350 points for three flips.
If you look in the lower right of the screenshots you'll see a HP counter, it acts like a timer and is constantly going down. Whenever you score points, the points are added to the counter, so the more flips landed the more experience your Pikachu will earn when it reaches the shore.

Once you think you've earned the highest score you can get, the Gameboy Printer will allow you to print out your score to amaze all your friends of your surfing ability! WOW.

That's about all that this mini game is. It's not much, so if you don't want to sacrifice your Pikachu you don't have to.
