Viking Heritage in Maine
Historical Sources for Vikings in Maine

My maternal side was primarily English and Scottish.
The family roots were traced to England and then
back to Normandy in France. Recently I came upon
the ancestral home areas in Denmark, being the
English Normans and Viking roots, and the latter
(Scottish) - the roots in Norway......When the
Vikings "settled" in Seine - Infenriene, Normandy,
France - my ancestors were amongst many who left
there to "settle" in England (in 1106).

My paternal great-grandfather,
Magnus Wheelwright,
always maintained that he was of Viking descent.
My research in university libraries led me to more
and more information about Viking settlements in Maine.

Curious, I started serious research into Viking
myths and legends - and found some incredible news.
The myths and legends were based upon fact!

You will not find this information anywhere else
on the net. Much of the resources I found have not
been published anywhere. No one in academia wants
to believe, or promulgate these findnings.
