Two Strangers meet in a Parking Lot

*please note that the initials L+Q are irrelevant to the character’s actual names

L: Excuse me, but are you using that shopping cart?

Q: What does it look like?

L: It looks as if you’re using it, but directing a vehicle of that size usual requires living brain cells, so I got a bit confused.

Q: Well, you definitely don’t confuse me, seeing that you can’t seem to find a shopping cart and that does also require living brain cells.

L: (after a brief pause) Hi, I’m Alison, nice to meet you.

Q: Nice to meet you, too. My name is Yvette, but you can call me Miguel.

L: Well, Miguel, it’s certainly a nice day outside.

Q: Yes, indeed it is Caroline.

L: My name is Alison.

Q: So it is.

L: Are you done with that cart yet?

Q: Does it look like I’m done with this cart yet?

L: I guess you’re right. Finishing a task also requires a functioning mind.

Q: As does refraining from answering rhetorical questions.

L: (after another pause) Well, nice to meet you.

Q: Nice to met you, too.

L: Goodbye...(in a whisper) forever!
