| The United Nations Website UN RESEARCH OPTIONS on the INTERNET Basic Information about UN Documentation : RESEARCH GUIDE This site presents an overview of the various types of documents and publications issued by the UN (e.g., reports, resolutions, meeting records, sales publications, press releases) and gives guidance on how to work with them. The Guide also provides information on actions taken by the General Assembly as well as the Security Council and introduces researchers to major fields of UN activities: disarmament, human rights, international law and peacekeeping. Current and Retrospective Research / Citations and Full-Text Links : UNBISNET The catalog of the UN Library in New York facilitates research on UN documents since 1979, speech citations since 1983, voting records for the Security Council since 1946 and voting records for the General Assembly since 1983. In many cases (especially for recent documentation), the bibliographic record will link to the full text in all six official languages. Full Text : UNITED NATIONS OFFICIAL DOCUMENT SYSTEM (ODS) The ODS gives full-text access to the parliamentary documents of the United Nations in all official languages back to 1993 (with some earlier coverage), as well as to the resolutions of the major UN organs (General Assembly, Security Council, Economic and Social Council and Trusteeship Council) back to 1946: (password-protected access for the time being; free access under discussion).
