Education: the gifted child
It is a good idea to see if the child has build up anger, as that would hinder his/her ability to study. Here are tips as to what to do, if confronted with anger:
ANGER Management
Experts suggest these tips for dealing with anger without resorting to violence:
Talk about your feelings ? if you can't find the right words to describe what you're going through, find a trusted friend or adult to help you one-on-one. Parents find and make time to talk to your children. Get into the habit of having a family meeting once a week. It doesn't have to be a long one. A 10 min would make a great change. Let each one take turns, what bothers them, what makes them happy, what they would like changed and have a brief discussion.
Express yourself calmly: express criticism, disappointment, anger or displeasure without losing your temper or fighting.
Listen to others: listen carefully and respond without getting upset when someone gives you negative feedback. Try to see the other person's point of view.
Negotiate: work out your problems with someone else by looking at alternative solutions and compromises.
Children learn what they see. If you tell them not to smoke, however you do, then how do you expect them to follow your advice?
