THE HEAVENS OPENED UP

God made me an angel
Who was sent for me to love
In his eyes he placed the stars
In my heart he placed his love

His word penetrate my heart
His smile makes me come undone
For the heavens opened up
and sent me the perfect one

A beautiful vision
Instilled within my heart
His love holds me together
When my life is falling apart

We have a bond that cannot break
A love that cannot fall apart
He is apart of my soul
And co-creator of my heart

He is the gift I've always dreamed of
For someone in heaven heard my plea
For the heavens opened up
And entrusted one of their angels to me

A LOVE THAT COULD HAVE BEEN

I saw you last night
With your little friend;
I guess I was a fool to believe in this love
I've been trying to defend.

You've teased me along with your hollow promises
And your childish games of pretend;
Where are you now that I'm watching
This love come to a bitter end?

I stayed with you through all the times you hurt me,
Because I was focusing on the goal;
Now I have only half a heart left,
When before you, it was whole.

But now there's nothing left
For me to try to piece together again;
There's just too many fragments
Of a love that could have been.

IF I REALLY CARED

I look you in the eyes when you talk to me'd
I'd think about what you're saying
rather than what I'm going to say next;
I'd hear your feelings as well as your words.

If I really cared . . .
I'd listen without defending;
I'd hear without deciding whether you're right or wrong;
I'd ask you why, not just how and when and where.

If I really cared . . .
I'd allow you inside of me;
I'd tell you my hopes, my dreams, my fears, my hurts;
I'd tell you where I've blown it and when I've made it.

If I really cared . . .
I'd laugh with you but not at you;
I'd talk with you and not to you;
And I'd know when it's time to do neither.

If I really cared . . .
I wouldn't climb over your walls;
I'd hang around until you let me in the gate.
I wouldn't unlock your secrets;
I'd wait until you handed me the key.

If I really cared . . .
I'd love you anyhow;
But I'd ask for the best that you can give
And gently draw it from you.

If I really cared . . .
I'd put my scripts away,
And leave my solutions at home.
The performances would end.
We'd be ourselves.

IN SILENCE I HATE

Because we are so silent in this dark and angry place
The only remnant of our love, are the tears upon my face
The confusion has been lifted and the pain has settled in
No recollection of who we were or what we could've been
The days we shared have come and went
And blessed are the words, that you never meant

Dare you say you love me and then walk out on me
Left me hopeless and destroyed by disbelief
Now filled with pain, I struggle to move on
With the lingering feeling of your presence
Of our love, that is now gone

I close my eyes and hope and pray
That you come back to me someday
But this foolish dream is only what we'll never be
The heavenly illusion of what used to be, you and me.

THE DAY IS COMING

The day is coming upon us soon,
when into my arms you will run.
I feel it in my heart and my soul,
as sure as the rising Sun,
Climbs high into the midday high,
Chasing away the darkness and moon.
Filling our lives with the warmth of its rays
and telling of love that will soon,
Blossom and grow like the Morning Rose,
Its petals all covered with dew,
Refreshed and waiting to give to me,
the beauty that is all of you.
From your head to your toe I will relish it all
and partake of the pleasures you give.
To take you into my heart and my home,
where together forever we'll live.
My perfect companion, help mate and wife,
My soul mate that's beyond any measure,
You've given to me the keys to the gates
that allow me to sample your pleasure.
Deep in my heart forever you'll stay,
never to be wanting again,
the love and devotion that we all need,
to erase all of the past hurt and pain.
I love you my Darling, words cannot convey,
the depth of my love for you.
Nor expression of feelings can cover it all
As hard as I try to do.
My hopes and fears, my dreams and desires,
are all wrapped up into this.
A want, a need, a burning inside
To give you a life of pure bliss.
Will we have our times of trouble and pain,
Without doubt, but I promise you here,
I'm quick to forgive, and I'm quick to resolve,
And even faster to kiss off a tear.
When you hurt, I hurt, when you cry I do too,
I feel your pain and your sorrow.
Rest well my love, I will make all things better,
And give us a brighter tomorrow.
Where we'll walk in the rain, make love in the ocean,
and stand under a waterfall,
Repledging our love, and our total devotion,
And giving each other our all.
The day is coming when soon you and I,
will no longer be "I" and "You."
But rather we'll come, together as one
And "WE" will become "ONE" so true.

HOPE

It's magic and it's free
It's not in a prescription
It's not in an IV.

It punctuates out laughter,
It sparkles in our tears,
It simmers under sorrows,
And dissipates our fears.

Do you know what Hope is?
It's reaching past today,
It's dreaming of tomorrow,
It's trying a new way,

It's pushing past impossible
It's pounding on the door,
It's questioning the Answers,
It's always seeking more,

It's rumors of a breakthrough,
It's whispers of a cure,
A roller coaster ride
Of remedies, unsure.

Do you know what Hope is?
It's candy for the soul,
It's perfume for the spirit,
To share it, makes you Whole.

MY WILD AUSTRALIAN ROSE

She came from the outback,
where nature and botany grows.
Koalas and kangas,
hopping on their toes.
Horses and riding,
are the things that she knows.
She is my sweet lady,
My Wild Australian Rose.

The love I feel in my heart,
is real and it grows.
Hour by hour and day by day
it never, ever, slows.
I want her for my very own,
my love for her it flows,
straight into the heart of her,
My Wild Australian Rose.

The things that she can do to me,
No one ever knows.
Her love, her life, it is so rare,
why is it me she chose?
To spend her life together with,
a Yank who's life he owes,
Fair dinkum, it is her I love,
My Wild Australian Rose.

I really am so fortunate,
to find my Ozzie Rose,
I'm careful, tender, loving too,
she thrives on love from those,
Things I do to give to her
my love and how it shows,
the garden's big, but there's just one
Wild Australian Rose.

MYSTERIA

I have often found myself looking at the stars,
Dreaming of a wonderful and peaceful place.
I would imagine that I lived in this paradise,
But in reality it would just be a simple thought.

I named this place Mysteria, every thought
Imagined would be magnified tenfold,
Every object would just take me away from
The chaos in the reality of existence.

I would always be heartbroken to wake up
From this place, for I knew that I would only
have to run away to this place which would
Be forbidden from the chaotic world.

STRINGS

Everyone is against me, only I can believe
In my own thoughts. Yet I feel that I
Am out of control with everything. There is
Something among my tattered soul, which
I have yet to understand, and I get
Tangled in a lonely sorrow's darkness.

I can take this silence no longer! Even
The air lays still to this dreadful overcast,
Which hangs not only overhead, but also
In my soul. I scream to break the
Chaotic Peacefulness, yet no one hears
My long, and agonizing yell for help.

No matter how much I run, I am always
In the same place. Fearing the inevitable
I fall to my knees shedding my unknown
Tears to the ground which lies before me.
All of a sudden I stand again, as if
I was picked up and put in my place.

I look unto my arms and see thin lines
Which rise above me. My feet and other
Parts among me had strings on them as well.
Pondering, I look up and I become confused,
For I see a giant which looks like me. He
Held the strings and moved me about.

Finally stopping the endless movement, I
Cry to myself because of those I hurt.
I cry for those I turned my back upon,
Because I truly understand this emotion.
All the time I thought myself to be out
Of control, I was the one in control...

The times you think that you are out of
Control, think twice, because you always were.

DESOLATE BATTLE

A cold wind blows, storms appear,
The worst is now known about our fear.
Trembling with hate and dispair so clear,
Why must life at time be without cheer?

Shadows amongst us, twirling around,
Holding our silence is so profound.
Listening to the non-existant sound
We hid as our hearts beat and pound.

Desolation upon us, wasting away,
Holding ourselves prisoner in the month of May.
Destroying us without a word or say,
Cannot we live peace one lonesome day.

Fighting with passion, our swords in hand,
We slay the dragon, and we still stand.
Taking out victory to tell other lands,
Our battle is never over on desolate sands.

BREAKING AWAY

Time after Time, The Sun Rises and Falls.
Day after Day, I wait for your calls.
Waiting and Wondering, staring at walls.
Hoping and Praying, You'll come to me after all.

You want me when he goes to work at night.
You need me whenever he's away.
You love me when you and him get into a fight.
But Baby, I gotta have a whole lot more.
Just remember this as I walk out the door.

I want you when the Moon passes by.
I need you when the sea changes tide.
I love you more with each sunrise.
But Baby, it's hard to keep my love in line.
When I'm lonely most of the time.

I'm tired of being a puppet on a string.
You made me miss out on a lot of things.
Now you'll wish you had treated me right
When you see me with someone new tonight.

WHY THESE WORDS I WRITE

There are many moments when I carry sorrowful burdens,
And hold it all inside. I try to keep the darkness within,
But there is only one way to contain its chaotic pride.
The shivering of my soul, the scars of my life, I have yet
To find a solution to make it all disappear into eternity.

There are many ways to run from the pain, and ways to
Ignore its simple strain. Yet time allows it to return
One hundred fold. I can contain the agony for a long
Struggling time, except when it turns into my worst fear.
The fear of being alone and seen only by shadows.

If I do not write my words of emotion, I fall into a deep
Depression. To some it may seem as an obsession.
Only I call it a love that will never leave me, or a friend
That will never turn its back. They are the words I set
Upon the paper before me. The gate to all hope within me.

It allows me to fulfill my heart's pain by setting it upon
A poem which deals with love. Many think that it is
Sad or happy, and even at times lovely, but to me it
Is a hope to extinguish the scars of my past and to
Return me to the real world which lies before my wet eyes.

THE COLOR OF LOVE

I set out to find The Color of Love, searching here and there
But much to my surprise my eyes couldn't find The Color of Love
anywhere
As I was walking along the oceans shore, a raindrop touched my face
And every member within my body felt the vibration of its trace

First touched my heart, it caused my spirit to flow so free
then I thought, My God, The Color of Love must be within me
slowly closed my eyes so that my soul could embrace the rain
then kicked my shoes off releasing my feet from their chains

As I held my head back, letting the raindrops touch my face
I could feel my spirit freely flowing to a perfect time and place
Softly the wind blew a kiss upon my skin
then I thought, My God, The Color of Love must be within

I said to my soul, as it directed me to undress my spirit so it too could enjoy the rain
what about those people who’ll see me? It said in spirit we are all the same
Slowly my hands begin to undress my spirit and my flesh fell to the sand
My spirit began to run and run caressing the feeling of being born again

While running on the beach in complete nudity with the rain touching the depth of my soul
I though to myself, The Color of Love is the story of life, waiting to be told

Then came the sunset, as it painted itself beneath the ocean blue
And the beauty of the moon and all the stars danced around it too
As I continued to run along the oceans shore with the raindrops and the wind
My spirit softly whispered, to find The Color of Love, follow the path that leads within

LOST IN THOUGHT

Lost in thought I imagine the dark ages,
Where dragons soared with wings spread
Wide piercing the untamed sky. I see
Knights of glory and loyalty to their King,
With an apprentice following his hopes
And dreams, to find a solemn, silent stare.

Lost in thought I live in a peaceful
World that no longer tolerates the wicked,
Destruction of war. Everyone works
Together, and none are left alone.
Yet something seems out of place, this
World is not the truth, it is not real.
Lost in thought, I wish never to wake,
For I would return to my everlasting
Battle that I grow tiresome from, with
Only a hope that things will change. A
Hope, or dream it simply is not around.
For to my thoughts I am only shortly abound.

POWDER PUFF

I have the dearest powder puff, she's so dear and sweet to me.
I treat her like she's made of gold, cause she means everything to me.
I saved all of my pennies in a big jar,
then every other year, I buy my powder puff a brand new car.
I drive it home and then, while I'm on the street,
you see the whole neighborhood asking to sit on the seat.
They all want to go for a ride around town.
The next thing I knew, my powder puffs new white car was brown.
I washed it all up clean and bright,
then my powder puff says to me, "Darling, it's all right."
I hold my powder puff close and tight.
She is the love of my life and glows in the night.

LOVERS TO FRIENDS THE CIRCLE COMPLETE

Her eyes sparkled when she smiled ... like diamonds and emeralds in the skies
Her soul was open for him to see ... whenever she talked or smiled or cried
Like lightning hit his soul whenever she touched him .. even with only her eyes
She was part of him like no one before had ever been ... or even tried
Parts of his heart that had died and lay in pieces she held to her chest
His life had been shattered but a smile hid the pain from the world
She told him things and let him say things that set her apart from all the rest
In the days and nights that followed into an abyss his heart was hurled
She was the light in his soul that let him see where he was going
On a journey that was caused by a loves strong yearning
She stood by him as he grew back into a man ... a long trip full of pain
But in the end her love was enough for him to make the gain
But circumstances did not allow this couple to stay in their heaven
But even as the pain ripped through them both ... and tears came in torrents
They knew that they would never be the same as they were when ...
They first touched each other and kissed and laughed and whence
Their lives were at once fulfilled and altered forever and then
They both realized that instead of losing a lover ... they had found a friend.

SHELBY

The sunlight streamed across her fiery hair
My heart leaped as I even thought I might dare
Walk up to her and say, "hello" or even, "hi"
Always afraid she would only say, "good bye"
Her beauty filled my heart and mind and soul
Like a snowball down a hill begins to roll
My feelings started out as a simple flirt
But have built faster than possible for cert
My days begin with her on my mind
Every day I see how much she is a one of a kind
Her friendship puts a smile across my face
Life is about living not winning a race
Patience and understanding have to be in abundance
For past, present and future are all wrapped up in our dance
Hearts and heads do wage their own battle
Sometimes like a cowboy strapped in his saddle
Riding a bronco and hanging on for dear life
My feelings are hard to control and sharp as a knife
Each day I see her the joy in my life increases
Listening to her voice ... always pleases
She opens her heart and shares with me her secrets
And wonders when I will run from each of those tidbits
Our Friendship has grown to be very strong
And no matter the future I will always long...
to be her friend and hold her in my arms
And one day seduce her with my wily charms
To kiss.. and hug and hold through the night
A strong brave candle who fills my day with light
Shining in the darkness and out glorying the sun
Seeing her ... talking to her... is always fun
My feeling go deeper than mere words can convey
Across the miles ... I feel her at night ... during the day
Her skin .. her smile .. her fiery hair .. her gold flecked eyes
Winning her heart is my goal .. with honesty and trust and never lies
No man knows what the future may hold
But I lay and dream and be ever so bold
You ... Me ... only time shall see
Where we will end up and what we will be
But love is worth taking a chance ... and taking it slow
'Cause you are a lady that I truly want to know
Inside and out ... upside and right ...
Friends forever and through the night
Where will we go? what shall we do?
Only time will tell ... but never forget that my eyes are for you
Dreams are made so we can create our own future...
Well my dreams are filled with a lady so demure.
