  DRUMBEG REVERIE  The old couple sat on the wooden bench, Looking out at the kelp strewn sea. Their hands gently touched. Their eyes glistened bright. As they dwelt on their shared memories. Of the days when their stride was surer, And their eyes were strong and blue. You could almost hear the thoughts they shared; That with age comes a clearer view. When I see your smile, There's a view of all my dreams, All my hopes and wishes, And a love for eternity, When you put your arms around me, I've never felt so much, Until the day I found you, I never knew real love. Or something you say may open up the windows of a mind that seeks light; The way you life may not matter at all, But you never know, it might. And just in case it could be that another's life, through you, might possibly change for the better with a better and brighter view, it seems it might be worth a try at pointing the way to the right; Of course, it may not matter at all, but then again, it might. - Author Unknown - I BELIEVE I believe in miracles and dreams that will come true. I believe in tender moments and friendship, through and through. I believe in stardust and moonbeams all aglow. I believe there's magic and more there than we know. I believe in reaching out and touching from the heart. I believe that if we touch a gift we can impart. I believe that if you cry your tears are not in vain. And when you're sad and lonely, others know your pain. I believe that when we laugh a sparkle starts to shine. And I just know that spark will spread from more hearts than just mine. I believe that hidden in the quiet of the night, there's magic moths and gypsies a fairy and a sprite. I believe that if you dance the dances of your heart, that greater happiness will find a brand new way to start. I believe the gifts you have are there for you to share And when you give then from the heart, the whole world knows you care I believe that if you give, even just to one, that gift will grow in magnitude before the day is done. I believe that comfort comes from giving part of me. And if I share with others, there's more for all to see. I believe that love is still the greatest gift of all and when it's given from the heart then not one of us will fall. - Author Unknown - A TIME TO BELIEVE To believe is to know that every day is a new beginning. It is to trust that miracles happen, and dreams really do come true. To believe is to see angels dancing among the clouds, To know the wonder of a stardust sky and the wisdom of the man in the moon. To believe is to know the value of a nurturing heart, The innocence of a child's eyes and the beauty of an aging hand, for it is through their teachings we learn to love. But we can love and give freely from the heart, kindness, tolerance, and joy we can impart, And following God's ways we can possess The Greatest of Treasures, True Happiness. © Luvia Taylor, 1999  ANGELIC THOUGHT If there is any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not deter or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again. DON'T LOOK BACK As you travel through life there are always those times when decisions just have to be made when the choices are hard, and solutions seem scarce and the rain seems to soak your parade! There are some situations where all you can do is to simply let go and move on gather courage together and choose a direction that carries you toward a new dawn. So pack up your troubles and take a step forward, the process of change can be tough but think about all the excitement ahead if you can be stalwart enough! There could be adventures you never imagined just waiting around the next bend and wishes and dreams just about to come true in ways you can't yet comprehend! Perhaps you'll find friendships that spring from new interests as you challenge your status quo and learn there are so many options in life, and so many ways you can grow. Perhaps you'll go places you never expected and see things that you've never seen or travel to fabulous, faraway worlds and wonderful spots in between! Perhaps you'll find warmth and affection and caring, a "somebody special" who's there to help you stayed centered and listen with interest to stories and feelings you share. Perhaps you'll find comfort in knowing your friends are supportive of all that you do and believe that whatever decisions you make, they'll be the right choices for you! Two forces are at work around you, external and internal. You have very little control over external forces such as hurricanes, earthquakes, disasters, sickness and pain. What really matters is the internal force. How do you resp[ond to those disasters? Over that, you have complete control. No one on earth can hurt you, unless you accept the hurt in your own mind. The problem is not other people, it's your reaction to them. You cannot always control your circumstances. Sinsters are there through thick and thin, and everything in between. Sisters protect you from the darkness, and make the world full of happiness. If you are sad and you feel like crying, sisters are there with a hug to lend. They are there to gossip with and laugh with, and you may ever utter the word "sis" Sisters are your strength when you are too weak, they are your voice when you can't speak. They are your crutch when you can't walk, they are your shoulder when you need to cry, they are your ear when you need a friend. Sisters share a love with you that no other could compare to. Sisters are your link to life, they are the ones who stand beside you through the hurt and the pain, through the tears and the rain. Waiting and Wondering, staring at the walls, Hoping and Praying, You'll come to Me after all. You want Me when He goes to work at night. You need Me whenever He's away. You Love Me when You and Him get into a fight. But Baby, I gotta have a whole lot more. Just remember this as I walk out the door. I want You when the Moon passes by. When You see Me with Someone new tonight. © Kynan Dene Whelchel 1998 Whelchel@USA.Net LIFE Life is a journey through many terrains From gardens of pleasure to deserts of pain From an ocean of love to a jungle of hate From mountains of glory to canyons of fate There's a highway for joy and a highway for sorrow A road for today and a road for tomorrow So choose your path wisely and walk it with care If you follow your heart, you'll find your way there I've been to the garden and planted seeds there I've been to the desert and felt the dispair I've swam in the ocean and drank of its wine I've run through the jungle and hung from a vine I climbed up the mountain to touch the sky I went to the canyon and started to cry I've traveled both highways, both today and tomorrow I've basked in the joy and wallowed in sorrow My path has been chosen and I've walked it with care I followed my heart and I'm on my way there So I'll just keep walking 'till I find what I'm after To mountains and oceans and gardens of laughter. - Author Unknown - THE GREATEST PAIN The greatest pain in life is not to die, but to be ignored. To lose the person you love so much to another who doesn't care at all. To have someone you care about so much throw a party ... and not tell you about it. When your favorite person on earth neglects to invite you to his graduation. To have people think that you don't care. The greatest pain in life, is not to die, but to be forgotten. To be left in the dust after another's great achievement. To never get a call from a friend, just saying, "hi." When you show someone your innermost thoughts and they laugh in your face. For friends to always be too busy to console you when you need someone to lift your spirits. When it seems like the only person who cares about you, is you. Life is full of pain, but does it ever get better? Will people ever care about each other, and make time for those who are in need? Each of us has a part to play in this great show we call life. Each of us has a duty to mankind to tell our friends we love them. If you do not care about your friends you will not be punished. You will simply be ignored... forgotten ... as you have done to others. This poem was written by a young girl who committed suicide three years ago. Remember that you can't judge a sad, lonely, or suicidal person by their facial expressions. You need to cherish your friendships, and show people that you care. "When we walk to the edge of all the light we have known, and take our first step into the darkness of the unknown, we will find one of two things will happen; either we will find something solid to stand on - or we will be taught to fly. From Edges DANCE LIKE NO ONE'S WATCHING We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more content when they are. After that we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that state. We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice vacation, or when we retire. The truth is, there's no better time to be at peace than right now. If not now, when? You life will always be filled with challenges. It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be at peace anyway. Alfred D. Souza said, "For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life." This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Peace is the way. So, treasure every moment that you have. And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time ... and remember that time waits for no one ... So stop waiting until you: finish school, go back to school, lose ten pounds, gain ten pounds, have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you start work, retire, get married, get divorced ... until Friday night, until Sunday morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home is paid off, until spring, until summer, until fall, until winter, until the first or fifteenth, until you've had a drink, until you've sobered up, until you die, until you are born again to decide that there is no better time than right now to be at peace. Peace is a journey, not a destination. Thought for every day: Work like you don't need money, Love like you've never been hurt, And dance like no one's watching. - Author Unknown - I AM ONLY ME I am only me, that's all I can be No more, no less, don't second guess I love, I laugh, I live and cry, I've wished at times, that I could die Some days I'm funny, others I'm not, sometimes I'm in overdrive and can't stop. I am a loyal and honest friend, You know that I'll be there until the end I am romantic, sensual, sexual and passionate too, to the love of my life, I'll share this with you. I can be sweet and shy or sassy and bold, I'm quite a handful, or so I've been told I am not perfect, I do have my faults, like when I get scared I put up high walls. Or I'm not as forgiving, as I'd sometimes like to be, because when I hurt, I hurt deeply. My logic is all my own, at times misunderstood, because I don't always do things for my own good. I have many facets, like a diamond you see ... I am nobody else ...
