GOD WON'T ASK

God won't ask what kind of fancy car you drove. He will ask how many people you gave rides to who didn't have transportation.

God won't ask the square footage of your home. He will ask how many people you helped who didn't have a home.

God won't ask how many fancy clothes you had in your closet. He will ask how many of those clothes you gave away to the needy.

God won't ask what social class you were in. He will ask what kind of "class" you displayed.

God won't ask how many material possessions you had. He will ask
whether those material possessions dictated your life.

God won't ask what your highest salary was. He will ask if you trampled over any people to obtain that salary.

God won't ask how much overtime you worked. He will ask did you work overtime for your family.

God won't ask how many promotions you received. He will ask what you did to promote others.

God won't ask what your job title was. He will ask did you perform your job to the best of your ability.

God won't ask how many promotions you took to chase a dollar bill.

He will ask how many promotions you refused to advance your family's quality of life.

God won't ask how many times you didn't run around on your spouse. He will ask how many times you did.

God won't ask how many academic degrees you had. He will ask how many people you thanked for helping you get those degrees.

God won't ask what your parents did to help you. He will ask what you did to help your parents.

God won't ask what you did to help yourself. He will ask what you
did to help others.

God won't ask how many friends you had. He will ask how many people you were a friend to.

God won't ask what you did to protect your rights. He will ask what you did to protect the rights of others.

God won't ask what neighborhood you lived in. He will ask what other neighborhoods you visited.

God won't ask how many times you told the truth. He will ask how many times you told a lie.

God won't ask about the color of your skin. He will ask about the color of your heart.

God won't ask how many times your deeds matched your words. He will ask how many times they didn't.

THERE'S A LOT OF TRUTH IN THIS ONE

Whoa! What in the world is happening with our kids today? Let's see...I think it started when Madeline Murray O'Hare complained that she didn't want any prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you had better not read the Bible in school -- the Bible that says "Thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself". And we said, "OK. Remember Dr. Benjamin Spock, who said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem"? And we said, "OK, we won't spank them". Then someone said that teachers and principals better not discipline our children when they misbehave. And our administrators said. "Whoa, no one in this school better touch a student when they misbehave because we don't want any bad publicity, and we surely don't want to be sued". Then someone said, "Let's let our daughters have abortions if they want, and we won't even have to tell their parents". And we said, "That's a grand idea". Then someone else said, "Let's give our sons all the condoms they want, so they can have all the 'fun' they desire, and we won't have to tell their parents". And we said, "That's another great idea." And then some of our top officials said that it doesn't matter what we do in private as long as we do our jobs. And we said, "As long as I have a job and the economy is good, it doesn't matter to me what anyone does in private". So now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill. Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with "we reap what we sow."

LIFE AS AN AMERICAN

We yell for the Government to balance the budget, then take the last
dime we have to make the down payment on a car that will take 5 years
to pay off.

We demand speed laws that will stop fast driving, then won't buy a
car if it can't go over 100 miles an hour.

We know the line-up of every baseball team in the American and National Leagues but mumble through half the words in the "Star Spangled Banner".

We'll spend half a day looking for vitamin pills to make us live longer, then drive 90 miles an hour on slick pavement to make up for lost time.

We tie up our dog while letting our sixteen year old son run wild.

We whip any enemy in battle, then give them the shirt off our backs.

We will work hard on a farm so we can move into town where we can
make more money so we can move back to the farm.

We run from morning to night trying to keep our "earning power" up with our "yearning power."

We get upset we're spending over a billion dollars for education, but
spend three billion dollars a year for cigarettes.

In the office we talk about baseball, shopping or fishing, but when we are out at the game, the mall or on the lake, we talk about business.

We're supposed to be the most civilized Christian nation on earth, but
we still can't deliver payrolls without an armored car.

We have more experts on marriage than any other country in the world
and still have more divorces.

We're the country that has more food to eat than any other country in the world and more diets to keep us from eating it.

ONLY IN AMERICA

...A pizza can get to your house faster than an ambulance...

...There are handicapped parking places in front of skating rinks...

...We leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and leave useless things and junk in boxes in the garage...

...We use answering machines to screen calls and then have call waiting so we won't miss a call from someone we didn't want to talk to in the first place...

...We buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight...

...We use the word "politics" to describe the process so well: "Poli" in latin meaning "many" and "tics" meaning "blood-sucking creatures".

MEANINGS

Standing for what you believe in,
Regardless of the odds against you,
and the pressure that tears at your resistance,
...means courage

Keeping a smile on your face,
When inside you feel like dying,
For the sake of supporting others,
...means strength

Stopping at nothing,
And doing what's in your heart,
You know is right,
...means determination

Doing more than is expected,
To make another's life a little more bearable,
Without uttering a single complaint,
...means compassion

Helping a friend in need,
No matter the time or effort,
To the best of your ability,
...means loyalty

Giving more than you have,
And expecting nothing
But nothing in return,
...means selflessness

Holding your head high,
And being the best you know you can be
When life seems to fall apart at your feet,
Facing each difficulty with the confidence
That time will bring you better tomorrows,
And never giving up,
...means confidence.

GREED WEARS MANY DIFFERENT FACES

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.
As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited
signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box. Curious, but somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold.
Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and said, "With all your money you give me a Bible?" and stormed out of the house, leaving the Bible.
Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things.
When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart. He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. His father had carefully underlined a verse, Matt 7:11: "And if ye, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly father which is in heaven, give to those who ask Him?"
As he read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words... PAID IN FULL
How many times do we miss God's blessings because they are not packaged as we expected? I trust you enjoyed this. Pass it on to others.
