| Mother's Tears |
 |
| By: Sarah Peterson February 7, 2000 |
A girl lies cold on the ground
As everybody begins to gather around
The police and medics came
Searching her to find a name
Early in the morning the mother answered the phone
She began to cry hearing that she was alone
Wondering if she could have helped her more
The pain was making her heart sore
She drove down to that wretched place
Hoping that what she saw was not her daughter's face
Could she still be alive
Is there some small chance that she did survive
The crowd was looking down
And the mother's tears raced past her frown
It was her daughter lying there
Suddenly the pain became too much to bare
Falling to the ground with even more tears
For this was her greatest of all fears
She was everything in her mother's life
How could she have been filled with so much strife
Now a gothic angel looks down into her own coffin
Wondering how her life could have been
She turns to see her friends and family cry
Wishing now that she didn't decide to die
If only more people would have shown that they cared
Maybe it would have helped her heart that was so badly teared
But they didn't realize the pain she was going through
So they must have felt like there was nothing they could do
No one could hear her silent screams at night
Eventhough she tried her hardest to fight
The pain was just too strong
She knew that she'd slip before too long
Her mother cries louder than ever before
The loss of her daughter made the tears poor
She couldn't imagine life without her daughter there
Remember her asking advice on what she should wear
She knew that she would make her mother sad
But she couldn't live with the nothing she had
Nothing filled her every day
The nothing that wouldn't go away
All her mother can do right now is cry
Thinking why was it her little girl that had to die
Wondering if her daughter could see or feel her pain
Then suddenly, outside it started to rain
Her daughter loved the rain outside
And she knew her daughter had not completely died
She knew that the rain was a sign
That her daughter's crying now, but she's doing just fine |
