The Elite Four
This is it. The last and final stage before the end of the game. You are now outside of Victory Road, and you have to head north. There are no more battles for you, but you are lucky enough to come up to a pretend town. Called Indigo Plateau, it consists of one building that has a Poke Mart and Center in it. Inside you can heal your Pokemon along with changing and buying items for them. In the back of the building is a door. Be warned that once you enter you cannot leave, so be sure you are ready to fight. The Elite Four/Five are not that tough. The first person is named Lorelei. She has ice Pokemon so be prepared. When you defeat her you get 5544. The second person is Bruno, and he uses figting ground and rock Pokemon. If you bring in a decent grass Pokemon you can clean the house with it. When you defeat him you get 5742. The third person is named Agatha and uses ghost Pokemon. If you bring in a decent leveled phsycic Pokemon you will do fine here. Defeating Agatha gets you 5940. The last of the Elite Four is Lance and he uses dragon Pokemon. For Lance you want to use something that has the attack Blizzard. I suggest bringing in a level 51 Articuno or using a TM14 on a Blastoise. Blizzard can kill everyone of his Pokemon, except the first, in one hit. Needless to say, he is not that hard. When you defeat Lance you get 6138. And as you suspected, the last person you have to fight is Gary. Gary has a variety of Pokemon. Depending on what Pokemon you chose at the beginning it is different. If you chose a Bulbasaur he will have a Pidgeot, Alakazam, Rhydon, Gyarados, Exeggutor, and a Charizard. If you chose a Charmander he will have a Pidgeot, Alakazam, Rhydon, Arcanine, Exeggutor, and a Blastoise. If you chose a Squirtle he will have a Pidgeot, Alakazam, Rhydon, Gyarados, Arcanine, and a Venusaur. When you beat Gary you get 6435, the title of Pokeleague Champion, a pathetic and short ending, and the ability to enter the last cave. You know get to have all the Pokemon that you fought the Elite Four(+ Gary) with entered into the Hall of Fame. After that it goes through the credits and the game is over. The good news is that the game really isn't over. When you continue your game again, you will find that you are in front of your house in Pallet Town. You will also notice that you kept the damage recieved in fighting the Elite Four/Five, all experience/levels gained, and all the money that you earned. This is good news. Fighting the Elite Four/Five is a great way to earn money and experience. You may ask yourself why you would want to do this, and the answer is easy. I didn't feel like spending all the time needed earning 9999 coins in order to buy a Porygon, do you. You also need levels in order to upgrade Pokemon that you haven't evolved yet, and you need to go back and get a Mewtwo and any other Pokemon that you have neglected to trade for. A hint is that you can obtain a Jynx, Mr. Mime, Tangela, and a Lickitung through trading with people in some of the towns. Information on this is in the getting the hidden Pokemon section of the Pokemon Page.
