To Cinnabar Island
Your trip to Cinnabar Island will be a wet one. It is pretty straight forward, with the exception of the Seafom Caves. Route 19 is before the Seafom caves, and here you can get 145, 150, 150, 150, 135, 145, 2100, 2030, 135, and 1890 from trainers. I am not impressed with those numbers now that Pokemon catching items cost 1200. In Route 20, after the Seafom Caves, you can get 140, 155, 2100, 2450, 600, 175, 750, 2100, 620, 2170. I am now going to walk you through the wonders of the Seafom Caves.
Seafom Caves
I hope that you are ready for this. The Seafome Caves have no items in it, I think. There are hidden items, but as of yet I have only searched a total of two routes in the whole game. The Seafom Caves will give you a whole new respect for the HM04. Throughout the entire cave you have to use the "Strength" ability of the Pokemon(s) that you gave it to. The cave itself is not that bad. I got annoyed constantly fighting, but a couple repels can reduce that. The object of the caves is to push the boulders down the holes that they are next to. There are a couple of boulders that have to be moved in order to get to another location, but the ones(two) that are being pushed into the holes are obvious. The reason why you are doing this is so you can stop the water current and exit the other side of the cave. You will notice a bird that is just sitting there, and that is the Pokemon Articuno. In order to catch the Articuno just have a couple high level Pokemon and a storage of Ultra Balls. Try to get it down to as little life as possible then put it to sleep. Sleeping helps you chances of catching it a lot. There are a lot of good water Pokemon to catch here, so make sure that you do. When you are done in the caves you will exit out at Route 20.
Cinnabar Island
This is the last real city that you will visit in Pokemon. This is also the city where you have the chance to get rid of some of those items which have been bugging you for a long time. In the Pokemon lab here you can trade Old Amber for a Aerodactyl, your Helix Fossil(if you chose it) for a Omanyte, and your Dome Fossil(if you chose it) for a Kabuto. You also can fight the second to last gym leader here, but first you need a key. The key is hidden in the basement of the old mansion. The mansion consists of 3 floors and the basement. Some floors are divided up based on which stairs you go into, but I am going to list the items by floor anyway. On floor one you can find 1450, a Carbos, and an Escape Rope. On floor two you can find 3060 and a Calcium. On the third floor you can find 3420, a Max Potion, a Iron, and 1650. In the basement you can find a lot of stuff. There is a Full Restore, 3060, a TM14, 1700, a Rare Candy, a TM22, and a Secret Key down there. Be sure to catch all of the Pokemon that you don't yet have here. Now that you have the key you can go into the gym. This guy is named Blaine, and he uses fire Pokemon. I suggest that you bring in a decent water Pokemon and let him fight all of the battles. For one they are good against fire, and two you need a strong water/ice Pokemon for the Elite Four. In here the trainers will give you 3240, 900, 840, 3690, 1025, 3330, and 925 from the trainers. Blaine gives you 4653, the VOLCANOEBADGE and a TM38. Blaine is not too hard if you think about all of the different water Pokemon you have at your disposal.
