Route 4
This is a standard area, but don't forget to pick up the TM04. Make sure that you capture the Ekans that can be found here.
Cerulean City
This is an interesting city. You have to fight your second boss, Misty, here. Be sure to find, 80, 380, 2079, 595, TM11, and the CASCADEBADGE. There is a hidden rock candy in someones back yard. It is easy to find, because it is the only backyard that only has one entrance or exit. Make sure that you have high level creatures, usually three or four leveles higher than the wild Pokemon's. Talk to everybody.
Route 24
This is another straigh forward route. There are some people to fight and talk to here, you should recieve 140, 210, 240, 360, a Nugget, 450, 280, and a TM45. Be sure to find, and capture, one Abra, and one Oddish, at least. Route 25 This route leads to Bill's place. Items to collect here are, 595, 525, 225, 255, 225, 455, 280, TM19, 210, 195, the ticked to the S.S. Anne. There are some trainer to fight here, as if you could not tell from the money. After talking/rescuing Bill, head back to Cerulean City. You will notice that the one building that was blocked by police, is now open. Behind the house you will fight someone from team rocket, and will recieve 510, and a TM28.
Journey to Vermilion City
Route five offers nothing except for the ability to capture a Mankey, which I suggest. You will be able to go only one way, until you get water for the guards. In the underground passage there is a hidden item, an X-Special. It is located in the lower part of the passage, and in one of the middle two rows. In the next area, area six, you can get 160, 400, 320, 200, 320, 320, from fighting battles with the trainers here.
The Vermilion Area
This city offers you a fair amount. Make sure you talk to everyone, and recieve the Old Rod, and the Bike Voucher. You might have to make room in your inventory, by either using the TMs or storing them in your PC. Once you recieve the Old Rod, you can fish and capture the Magikarp, and you will have saved 500 bucks. In another building, you can trade a Spearow for a Farfetch'd/Dux. I suggestcapture the Magikarp, and you will have saved 500 bucks. In another building, you can trade a Spearow for a Farfetch'd/Dux. I suggest that you capture a second Spearow, and trade that one away. East of the town is a cave. Here is a good place to gain levels, and capture a Diglett. Further East is an area filled with high grass and pathways. You should catch a Drowzee here, and search the tree for an Escape Rope, the tree is obvious. Trainers here will give you, 285, 315, 1260, 270, 1260, 1260, 1050, 900, 1260, dollars. The building to the East will lead to a path that is blocked by a sleeping Pokemon. One of the trees there you can search to find a Hyper Potion. This is as far as you can go east, for the time being. The Diglett cave leads you back to Viridian Forest, although you can't go there until you get the HM for Cut. But, you can trade an Abra for a Mr. Mime. (note... traded creatures gain boosted experience. I suggest that you and a friend trade Pokemon and then trade them back. You will have your same Pokemon, but they will all get boosted experience points.
S.S. Anne
This is a haven for Trainers. Items/money to find, Great Ball, 1300, HM01, 1190, 270, Rare Candy, 595, 1610, Max Ether, 510, 548, 270, 315, TM08, 1330, 1260, Max Potion, 510, 630, 510, Ether, 540, TM44, 595, 600. Once you get the HM01 from the captain, you should not leave until you get everything else. The HM01 is the key item you need to get from the S.S. Anne, so once you get that, and leave the ship, it sails off. Now that you have the cut ability, which you can as many times as you want, a lot of new doors open up for you. The first thing you should do is challenge the third boss. Lt. Surge, who lives in Vermilion City, is hidden behind one of the trees that you need to cut down. I suggest that you give the cut ability to your main pokemon, because the creature with the ability has to be in your party to use it, and you need to access it through the Pokemon option after pressing the start button. Cut is an ability that cuts down trees in the overworld, but also is an attack in battle, and a strong one at that. I suggest that you replace the attack your Pokemon started the game with with Cut, because it will do more damage. Lt. Surge is not that hard, just make sure that your creatures are a couple levels higher than the creatures in the overworld. In the gym you will recieve, 630, 500, 1610, THUNDERBADGE, 2376, and the TM24.
Cut
I suggest that you go to the beginning of the game, via Diglett's Cave, and start there. All the way back in Viridian, you can cut down a tree, and talk to some guy about the sleeping Pokemon. He will give you a TM42. In Route 2 there are a few things that you can do. You can find a Moon Stone a HP Up, and you can recieve the HM05 if you talk to Proffesor Oak's Aide, in the large building. Lastly, go back to Pewter City, and chopthe tree left of the museum. This will take you to a part of the museum that you were not able to reach before. Someone here will give you the Old Amber, and tells you to take it back to the Pokemon Lab to have it examined. All of these are reached by cutting down trees. These were all of the areas that could not be reached before. Anything new that can be reached by using cut will be posted in the appropriate areas.
