Pallet Town
You start in the second floor of your house, and the first thing that you can do is turn on your computer and retrieve a potion. (Working the computer is not that hard, but just in case, here it is. Activate the computer with the "A" button, choose Ash's PC, go to withdraw item, and pick the potion. You can also store items in your computer, which I suggest, because some you will not recieve certain items if your inventory is full. I suggest that you store your TMs in your computer, because you do not want to use them right off the bat and they take up space.) Go downstairs, talk to your mom, and head outside. I suggest that you talk to everybody in all towns and outside areas, because they have valuable information, and can sometimes give you items. You will ultimately want to go to Professor Oak's Lab. You will find out that he is not there. After you go to the lab, try to leave town via the north road. As you approach the tall grass, you will be confronted by Professor Oak, and he will tell you that before you go you will need a Pokemon of your own. You end up in the lab, and Professor Oak will give you, and Gary, the chance to pick a Pokemon, either Charmander, Bulbasaur, or Squirtle. The Poke Balls, when picked, will tell you which one is inside. They claim that the grass Bulbasuar is the easiest one to start off as, but I love fire creatures, so I chose Charmander. After you pick a Pokemon, Gary will choose which ever one yours is weak against, in my case squirtle. He will then challenge you to a fight. My friend tried this battle as both Squirtle and Bulbasaur, and lost both times. I, however, beat Gary with my Charmander (fire kicks butt). I am sure that luck had to do with it, but I still think that fire is the best, and I bet my friend will agree. If you beat Gary, which I suggest saving before you try in order to do so, you will be given 175 dollars. If you haven't talked to everybody yet do so now. Note... A long time from now you will have a Super Rod. Come back to Pallet Town and fish here to catch a Poliwag. |
