SELF-LOVE
Greetings. Welcome to Issue #5 of LIGHT TIMES newsletter. This is a participatory newsletter for LIGHT-oriented people of all ages and stages in life. The purpose of LIGHT TIMES is to support the sharing of LIGHT. The purpose of LIGHT TIMES is to ground information for the peoples of EARTH -- for the sake of EARTH.
This issue #5 explores LOVING OURSELVES in more depth. LOVING OURSELVES could be the essential key to us shining our LIGHT. Everything else stems from true SELF-LOVE.
LOVING OURSELVES is a "tall order." Supporting SELF-LOVE in self and others is a "tall order." It is a very, very, very big thing.
LOVING OURSELVES means that we pay attention to ourselves. ( This is much different than what we've usually been taught from day one of our lives. ) LOVING OURSELVES means that we pay attention to our needs. This includes our physical needs, emotional needs, mental needs, social needs, and spiritual needs. LOVING OURSELVES means that we acknowledge them and that we do our best to meet as many of them as we can in the moment. Trusting that they are important. Trusting that we are important. Even though in the larger scheme of things, we are just a dot -- nonetheless, we each have our part to play in the whole of life. We must respect this. It is time for us to respect this. The purpose of LIGHT TIMES is to support us in this. Our individual selves are very important and the collective we is very important.
Breathe
A way to begin looking practically at LOVING OURSELVES could be by exploring the subject of compromise. Compromise is almost never about showing ourselves love and respecting our energy.
Many of us compromise in our daily lives. We think we are supposed to -- but we are not. Compromise can take many forms. Looking at it and where we are compromising can be a starting point.
Breathe
The purpose of LIGHT TIMES is to remind us about LIGHT. What is LIGHT? LIGHT is energy. LIGHT is a particular type of energy. LIGHT is a supportive, encouraging, inclusive, uplifting, inspiring, and therefore deeply loving energy.
Breathe
Energy? Yes, energy. You know what else? We are energy too. Oh yes. Energy. What's more, everything and everyone is energy. Everything. Everyone. Energy. ( For many people, this idea is a stretch. )
Breathe
Which guides us to the subjects of self-nourishment and self-nurturance. It is also time for us to increase our nourishing of ourselves and our nurturing of ourselves. Why? How? Let's take one at a time. Starting with why: When we love ourselves, we nourish and nurture our energy. We care about ourselves and we show it. It is a natural extension of LOVING OURSELVES.
Very simply stated, it is because of essence. Issues #3 and #4 speak of our inner core. Our inner core is our essence. It's the stuff that we are really made of. It is energy. It is vitally important for us to get in touch with our inner core -- with this energy, our essence.
Why is this important? This is important, because it fills us up from the inside out. It is the missing link. It is what we have really been searching for all along!
Breathe
It is now time to answer how. What might self-nourishment and self-nurturance look like? Deep inside ourselves we know. Just for fun, though, let's explore a few of these here. There are many levels and forms of this. One level is:
Remembering that: [ Sorry folks. This spacing is still in process as I learn how to do it. It should be 3 columns. ]
We are good. We matter. We are holy.
We are good enough. We are clean. We are ONE.
We are worthy. We are smart.
We are beautiful. We are gifted.
We are powerful. We deserve to be happy.
Breathe
This is big! This level tends to challenge many of us today, because of what we have been taught about ourselves. However, let's consider the possibility of beginning to see ourselves in a different way than maybe we are used to. O.K.?
Another level is: How do we remember? We remember by:
Giving ourselves permission to be.
Giving ourselves permission to be ourselves.
Giving ourselves permission to breathe.
Giving ourselves permission to take space.
Giving ourselves permission to drink water.
Giving ourselves permission to have fun.
Looking up and around when we walk ( rather than down at the concrete ).
Exploring body movement/exercise.
Exploring a hobby.
Exploring personal space that is just ours.
Exploring quiet, silence, solitude.
Exploring timelessness.
Exploring doing nothing.
Breathe
Food.
Rest.
Silence.
Water.
Connecting with nature.
Having a good cry.
Exercise.
Having fun.
Doing nothing.
LOVING OURSELVES is a process. Since we are all individuals we each have our preferences. So ... the process of remembering who and what we are may be different for any one of us. However, there are many paths to getting there. The process is the point, so let's make it enjoyable.
Examples of this process include:
One person may say, "Gosh, I've always wanted to read Winnie The Pooh."
Another person may say, "You know, I really don't like my job. I'd like to explore this type of work instead."
Yet another person could say, "I can see that I've always been an active person. I wonder what meditation might look like for me."
And still another person might say, "Gee, I wonder what skateboarding feels like."
The list goes on.
Breathe
LOVING OURSELVES has many levels and many forms. What is important is that we increasingly find ourselves relating with ourselves as if we are a very good friend ... even better, a best friend.
For those of us who are interested in increasing the LIGHT within and around us for EARTH's sake, LOVING OURSELVES is a bit of a "shortcut."
LIGHT = LOVING OURSELVES
LIGHT = LOVING EARTH
LIGHT = HIGH KI => POSITIVE ENERGY CYCLE
LIGHT = LOVING OURSELVES <==> LOVING EARTH
It is all interconnected.
