Caedmon Mansion
The mansion was built by one of Lesidhe Cove's founders Angus Caedmon for his family. The mansion has been home to all the generations of Caedmon's who have made thier home in Lesidhe Cove. The large house is built of grey stone, the number of rooms in the house is not known but some of the wings have been closed off for years. Only the a few of the Caedmon's know of the secret passages that run through it. The house has a tower room and strange lights have been seen coming from the windows. There is a widows walk on the roof and a young woman in a black gown has been seen standing and staring out to sea on nights of the full moon. On the grounds is a large garden which opens up to a hedge maze. In the center of the maze is an old willow tree with symbols carved all over it's surface. The mansionis located east of the town on the coast and is bordered by the Lesidhe Forest. Guinevere Andara Caedmon is currently residing in the mansion.
BlackShire Asylum
In the 1800's Adair Caedmon and his wife Quinn built the BlackShire Asylum to help the less fortunate. Many of Lesidhe Cove's residents have had relatives that have been institutionalized there. The asylum has a long and distrubing history, and many claim that atrocities have been committed there. In 1926 Miss. Patty Andrews was arrested for killing a number of young male paitents. It was rumored that she was a woman scorned. In 1948 Dr. Alan Greenbaum one of the asylum's doctors went on a rampage and massacered thirty paitents, doctors, and nurses before killing himself. The asylum stayed open for a few years after the massacere before closing down for good in 1954. It now stands abandoned. Located on the asylum's grounds are the asylum chapel, the directors house and a graveyard, where paitents are buried. Many of the markers are small and have only a number to identify them. People have reported hearing screams and moans and have seen ghosts around the grounds. BlackShire Asylum is locaed East of the Caedmon Mansion on the other side of Lesidhe Forest.
Lesidhe Lake (Lost Souls Lake)
Before the 1950's part of Lesidhe Cove was in a valley. It was located East of the Asylum. In May of 1952 an earthquake rocked the cove, and cause the large boulders that were keeping out the sea, to move and break. The ocean rushed in without warning and flooded the valley. Very few escaped and many died. Only a few bodies were discovered. An aftershock a few days laer closed off the opening to the ocean. It is now known as lesidhe Lake or Lost Souls Lake as it is more commonly called by the locals. Many divers have come to explore the underwater city, it is also a popular place among the teenagers. The night before the earthquake people claim to have heard a keening noise coming from the valley. Many have said it was the Beansidhe (Banshee) fortelling of the deaths ahead. Many of the Cove's older citizen's as well as those who are psychially-attuned claim it is a place of evil. An unusual amount of suicides and drownings have occured there. Every once in awhile a body will surface-usually they are victims of the flood. In the mornings and evenings an unearthly mist covers the waters surface and the shore. The water is always cold no matter the season and it never freezes in the winter. Cries and screams have been heard coming from the lake and some say they have seen ghosts rising from the water.
Lesidhe Point Lighthouse
The lighthouse was built in the 1800's by Donal Caedmon and his son Kern. Kern operated and took care of the lighthouse until his death, when his son Myrddin took over. The lighthouse is locaed North of the Caedmon Mansion on a strip of land that extends past the mainland.
Mullen Mansion
Located on the Northwest side of town, it is on a cliff overlooking the ocean. It was built by one of the town's founders, Cahir Mullen, for his family. His wife Sive, was burned as a witch, and their kids were sent to live with relatives after Cahir did. Two generations later, Barra Mullen, a young buisnessman, came back to his home town and renovated the mansion. Unknown to him, many secret rooms were lost in the renovation. Later, after he had been made a grandfather and there were many people and servants living in the mansion, a mass murder happened, and most of the eople in the house were either killed, or went insane and killed themselves. Although every body seemed accounted for, they missed the fact that a relative had been staying secretly at the mansion. The mansion was burned down by the people who said it was evil. Later it was rebuilt, yet again, by the descendant of Cahir's other child, and he built if for his wife, so it looked like a mix between Sleeping Beauty's castle, and a Beverly Hills Mansion. It has many turrets and even a small moat. It has many different secret rooms, passages, and the basement was lost long ago, and has yet to be recovered. It is the Saturday place-to-be, although most people that go there never come back, besides the members of the DC. It now houses Britta and Brynn Mullen and everyone believes their parents, although they now refuse to come into the town.
O'Shea Mansion
Ever been to Hell? Well, it's not quite as bad, except for the fact that is staffed by demons and monsters, and holds within its walls a very powerful witch, who dabbles in dangerous sorcery. It is the home of Brennan O'Shea, and was the home of his parents, until they were killed and replaced by demon look alikes, and Deanna O'Shea, who now resides at the Hohman residence. The house has been exposed to so much evil, that over the years, it in its self is evil. Unless you are evil, or have had intimate experiences with evil that have rubbed off on your aura, you will be tricked and devoured by the house.
Mullen High
It was made and named after the Mullen family almost 70 years ago. It has been renovated many times since then, and now looks more like a fortress then a school. The classrooms are large, and not many students attend because of how small the town is compared to the school. It has an indoor pool, a huge gym, a big cafeteria, and large lockers, for all the students. About 10 years ago a group of students went down into the basement for a lock-in and their bodies were never recovered. The basement was closed off until the Freaks started using it as a base and sometimes, for alot of them, as a home. The O'Shea Manision is located directly South of the town.
The Docks
The docks occupy the Northern coastline of the town. many buisness's are located her such as the town's fishing industry. Popular places such as MacDougals Pub and The Sharks Den are also located here.
MacDougal's Pub
The pub is located at the docks. Many of the residents gather here t partake in good food and spirits.
Sharks Den
The Sharks Den is also located at the docks, and is mainly a gathering place for fisherman and hte rougher element of the cove.
Gypsy Fortune Teller
The fortuen teller is located at 45th and vine. Many residents seek advice here.
Downtown Lesidhe Cove
In the center of downtownis the town square. There is a monument dedicated to the founders with life size statues of the 3 men.
Also located downtown are the Lesidhe Cove City Hall, Couthouse, Police and Fire Station.
Lesidhe Cove's historical society and museum is also located downtown. Here one can find out the history of the cove.
Secret Treasure's Antiques
This quaint shop is located a couple of blocks south of the town. In here one can find many beautiful items and once in a while can pick up a rare and unusual treasure.
St. Mary's Church
St. Mary's was built in the 1800's by the town's people. It is very large and made of black stone. It has a bell tower and the inside has a cathedral-type look. many of the windows are stain-glass. There is a dome on the ceiling with a beautiful stained glass scene of the Arch-Angel Michael battling the fallen angel Lucifer. St. Mary's priest is old and is rumored to be an expert on Demon's and exorcism. The church is located west of downtown.
Lesidhe Cove Cemetary
The towns cemetary is located next to St. Mary's. All of the Cove's deceased are buried here. There are three huge masoleums in the center which belong to the founding familys.
O'Shea Memorial Hospital
Built by the O'Shea family in the 1930's, the hospital as been renovated many times since then and many additions and wings have been added on. They have oneof the best cardiac-care units int he state. Some are reluctant to go to the hospital, because of the memories of the asylum. Indeed, there have been mysterious and unexplained deaths at the hospital but were quickly covered up by the administration. The hospital is located west of St. Mary's.
Overlook Inn
The Overlook was built in 1898 and as a very interesting and colorful history. In the 1920's it was a popular 'get-a-way' for members of the Boston Mob. It was also rumored that the kind old lady who ran the inn kept her sickly husband chained in the basement. These rumors were never substantiated. The inn as 40 rooms and a restaurant. It is considered one of the best inns on the east coast. But then again if you check in...you might not check out. |
