Garments sold all over the Island Jeans, trousers and sports wear can be bought in most fashion shops Jewellery and precious stones can be bought in most duty free shops Knitwear - woollen pullovers ar very reasonable prices Leather goods, shells, model ships, smoked marlin, spices, sugar, tea, T-shirts, toys, watches - you name it you will get it There are shopping centres in most towns and tourist centres Interesting Shopping Places: Marketplace in Port Louis: The marketplace offers an adventure of no comparison where anything can be bought including vegetable, fruits, clothing, local crafts, homeopathic medicines and aphrodisiacs. Phoenix Commercial Centre: The centre includes "Le Continent" from the famous French chain of supermarkets and other small boutiques selling imported as well as locally manufactured goods. Grand Bay: In the north of the Island, Grand Bay has two famous supermarkets, the Grand Bay Store and Store 2000. The Caudan" The Caudan is situated on the waterfront in Port Louis. It has a range of shops and also comprises of restaurants, cinemas, a casino and a bank. Travel agencies and car hire services are also available at Caudan. Prisunic: Situated in Curepipe, the prisunic is a well-established shopping centre. |
