Too often we under estimate the power of a touch,
a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest
compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which
have the potential to turn a life around.

My father is a retired cop he was hurt on the field. I was always expected to do the right thing, his expectations were very high and I resented it so needless to say I did not LIKE cops. Just like every smart mouth out there I complained about speeding tickets, had plenty of doughnut jokes to fire and commented on police brutality and cops on the take.
It wasnt until I got divorced and had a restraining order put on my ex-husband that I valued the work they did. For almost 4 years my life hung on how fast cops got to my location, it was almost comical as I was on first name basis with every police officer in the surrounding districts. I learned a lot from that experience specially that the justice system does not protect the victim but I also got to know the men and women in uniform and what they stand for. I made it my personal mission to share my love and respect for the badge with the general public and law enforcement. I will continue to do so without reservations. My time is limited as Im the CEO of a successful enterprise but I promise I will always make time for you! These words go out to every police officer, next time you are out on those pesky streets, those days when you ask yourself why you have chosen to be a cop just remember people like me that love and respect you. I cant put a face to every badge but I can put my face and my thoughts on here and bring you this community, your private space where everything you have done and do is praised and appreciated.
General Public
Since I embarked in this awareness campaign I have received threats, endured a lot of grief, discrimination and listening to the standard citizen criticize law enforcement. I want to make something very clear COPS ARE NOT PERFECT and we should not expect them to be after all they are just human. Men and women that have taken on a job that most of us would not. The stress of what they encounter out on the streets does affect their personality, yes they do have bad days and yes they get tempted and make bad decisions just like most of us do. If you ask a cop what their mission is you will find that there is no I but mostly you in their answer. So what is their goal? Not to speak for them but based on the information I gathered Ill summarize it this way: To maintain peace and order in your community so that you can enjoy a good quality of life free of crime, disorder and threats to your safety. Interesting no I's in this statement but I sure can see plenty of You's!
