We are not put on this earth for ourselves,

If you are there always for others,
then in time of need, someone will be there for you.

Tears Of A Cop Click Here

Behind every badge beats a human heart, with this in mind and in an effort to show the human side of cops I have created this section. We interview different cops who volunteer to provide answers to our most pressing questions.
If you have content for this site please submit here.

This heart belongs to officer Bryan one of our volunteers Michael conducted this interview we will not reveal any more information not to infringe on the officer's privacy.

Michael:
Why are cops so abrupt at times when they make traffic stops?

Officer Bryan:
Abrupt? I wouldn't call it that but yes we are sometimes not so pleasant. I hate to admit this but FEAR is the reason, we never know what to expect traffic stops are one of the most dangerous for police officers. We think we are just doing a routine stop and you never know it might be a perp that just robbed a grocery store.

Michael:
Let’s say I see you in my rearview mirror I don’t think I’ve done anything wrong what should I do?

Officer Bryan:
If we are following you there’s a good reason either you have done something wrong or you are in danger so YES you must stop.

Michael:

Is there anything I can do to show you that I don’t mean you any harm? How can I make the traffic stop easier for you?

Officer Bryan:

Now Michael, are you trying to get out of that ticket? (laughing) In all honesty there are some things that we wish everyone would comply with:
1- Come to a full, stop put your hands on your steering wheel or where I can see them
2- Be nice! Smile that always helps
3- Don’t make any abrupt movements
4- If you are hiding anything come clean cooperation is always best besides we’ll find it anyway
5- Do not reach under your seat or in your glove compartment unless we tell you to
6- Do not argue with us unless you have a valid point
7- If we ask you to step out of the car please do
8- If we ask you to take sobriety tests please do
9- Whatever you do please don’t resist arrest it’s not our intention to hurt you however we might be forced to.
10- If you have a gun and are going to shoot please think of my family and my 3 year old son

Michael:
You know this interview is for a section called “Heart & Badge” can you tell us something private about yourself, give us a little peak behind the badge?

Officer Bryan:
I don’t know about this…Are you sure you won’t reveal my name or department?

Michael:
We protect your privacy unless you want us to we will not!

Officer Bryan:
Oh man! The guys at the station would have a field day if they knew this… well I have an unusual hobby…Quilting! (Red-faced)

Michael:
Quilting? No way you’re this big 6’5 tower of muscle who works out every day and lives in a big city….

Officer Bryan:
What can I say my grandmother taught m… now it’s very relaxing for me I just finished this quilt with department badges it’s really neat, it took forever to get it done!

Michael:
Any advice for fellow quilters out there or cops who want to take up this hobby?

Officer Bryan:
YEAH! Lot’s of patience and hey it doesn’t make you less of a men, actually my eyes have gotten sharper, sharp as a fox.

Michael:
Anything else you would like to say?

Officer Bryan:
Yes! God Bless America Stay Safe.
