1.) The song "Music of My Heart" has a line in it that states "You were the one always on my side, always standing by, seeing me through". How does that line relate to Jamal, Cedric, and Forrester and their biggest insecurities? How do they let those insecurities go? Is there another line in the song you feel works better, and if so, what is it and why?
2.) The song "What's Going On" has a line that states "You know we've got to find a way, to bring some understanding here today". Some themes we covered in our lecture and on the website included Overcoming obstacles, Identity and how to establish it, and Perseverance in achieving one's goals. How do the relationships in Finding Forrester and a Hope In the Unseen bring about understanding and a way to achieve goals, identify self, and overcome obstacles? Focus your answer on the quote.
3.) The song "Words of Wisdom" was written by 2Pac Shakur, a guy who actually lived a life on the streets. How do you think his experiences (use the additional resource links), and his lyrics, relate to the characters of Finding Forrester and A Hope in the Unseen. For example, how was 2Pac determined to get out? How did he get out? How does that relate to Jamal and Cedric? Although they were seperate personalities, they shared traits of determination, an inherint value of education and what it could do, religious value, intelligence, talent, among others. Use some of those traits to help you answer.
